I didn't hear you mention if you had contacted your payment processors to verify their address and match it to the return envelope they supply with your bill.

Many times a company will 'use up' all their old r/e's before sending new ones, thus depending on the PO's 'forwarding' service to get your payment to them after they have moved.

This in turn, helps the company collect late fees due to the delay of forwarding, which they gladly collect.

So do you really think that you have been singled out and your mail is being taken or just disappears? In 99 out of 100 cases there is a simple explanation of "missing" mail. Usually a bad address or possibly in this case the pre-addressed letter has a bad bar code. I guess it's easier though to blame the P.O. they must have it in for you.

I also work for the USPS and am a proud Letter Carrier. Sometimes when a company preprints an envelope, it makes a lined code that the computer reads rather than the address. That is just one of MANY things that can keep a letter from reaching its destination. The only reason you wouldn't have got it back if there was an error, is if there was no return address on it.

yea i work for the PO. i send back 30 to 40 pieces of mail on my RT EVERDAY cuz its addressed wrong. and when my customer complains that its mail is being returned? i tell then to get the sender to fax a copy of the front of the letter, they then see it was addressed wrong and fix it...its always someone elses fault

I used to operate the AFCS, the machine that cancels letters. It regularly eats letters, too; but only because idiots continue to put things into envelopes that don't belong there; i.e. credit cards, pens/pencils, pendants, coins, etc.

My recommendation: if you have something important to send, splurge on the extra few bucks to send it in a Priority envelope, a bubble mailer, cardboard mailer, etc. Another buck will get you delivery confirmation, which isn't tracking, but suffices.

I work for USPS and postage for 41 cents is a steal considering how much you would pay in gas to get it there yourself.Its not us employees that loose your mail.Mail goes through automation machines and etc. USPS plants have employees working 24-7(holidays included)to bring you the best possible service as we can.Further more in the months of November & December it takes longer for packages and letter mail to reach its destinations due to Holiday Season. That means 1st class mail up to 15 days.

The main problem nowadays is that there are too many machines and too many subcontractors. It used to be that Letter Carriers felt terrible shame if they even missorted a letter, much less misdelivered it. Now we have machines that sort letters at 7,000 pieces a minute and the new flat (magazine) sorting machines will sort 16,500 per minute. The end result is that the Letter Carriers don't see the mail before it goes to the street and missorts seem to be increasing exponentialy.

not true. I mailed 3 boxes from florida to nyc w/in 1 day of each other and I only received 2 and they were both very late. The 3rd one was returned to florida because it was undeliverable. someone ripped my address label from the box and tried to get into it. I taped that label down with massive amounts of packing tape. there is no way it could've come off unless someone ripped it off. now I have to wait another week for my box that I've already waited almost a month to receive.
