  • co ty z tym Tarzanem wszedzie?! Co ma Tarzan z opera wspolnego?

  • AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHHAH! Il gatto mi fa morire dal ridere!!!!!!

  • CD recordings make opera seem very easy these days. This is live and he has the balls to go for it. In the studio 20 takes to get it right is not uncommon.

  • This video is both hilarious and humbling. Daring to sing a high tenor E on stage is a feat in itself, and the singer managed to sing the high C shortly before the crack on the E. It's important to put things in proportion here! ;-)

  • a cat is the best :)

  • What a disgusting piece of music. it's not all the tenor's fault. And that wasn't a crack, people. It was probably in the music. Piece of crap music. Why don't you say what the piece is? That is suspect.

  • @organboi It's quite accepted to sing this differently - first speranza going to an A, the next to a C#. Still bloody hard and sounds so much better....Look up some other versions - Credeasi Misera

  • LOL the cat is funny xD!

  • Whoever made that clip is a genius! The cat picture is the most suitable image there is to accompany that major crack! I love it! :))))

  • wuajaujauajaja akien no le ha pasado jauajaja ni de bromaa!!!

  • briljant, the combination with the cat!!

  • oh shit xDD i hope that never happens to me xD#

  • Ooh, almost got the E!!!

  • omfg, lesson for the day: do not watch this while eating or drinking anything. I nearly choked from laughing so hard

  • lol

  • the cat's face, lol xddd

  • The awkward moment when you realize you have kidney stones.

  • Poor guy. Don't try the F unless you're feeling very good about yourself that day!

  • Poor guy! He seems to have a beautiful instrument but either he had a really bad night or he just simply doesn't have wherewithall to hit the F (or E). He must have been really embarrassed. Also, he doesn't sound to be a tenore di grazia but rather more of a lyric tenor but I might be wrong.

  • Although the aria has been transposed down so the note is not a high F, it is a high E ... but having sung High Cs galore let me tell you that sometime they are there and sometimes they are not. It takes the same kind of physical effort as a primal scream to reach those ultra high notes and well it just wasn't there for this poor fellow.

  • I forgot how much this makes me laugh... oh, this poor singer. I really do love his voice in the rest of the clip.

  • It's the Puritani F...

  • The tenor is horrible but we are luckily that he doesn't fart on some of those attempts.

  • jajajaja the cat jajajaja LOL

  • Very easy to critisize...I bet you can do better... C# was perfect...F...perhaps not...Still a great singer.

  • It's the cat that made it funny

  • Don't be so baaad, the "Credeasi Misera" is a very dificult aria to sing...but...that was hilarious. xD

  • this is not THAT bad

  • I would cry if I were in the audience...of laughing

  • HHAAAAA!!!!!!!! Hilarious.... Thanks for that.

  • What's the fail...?

  • maybe this is transposed down, but this is an E he is trying, and failing, to get here

  • I don't think he actually sang this.

  • Haha! Wow, poor tenor. He did great up until that note came out sharp and his voice cracked. haha.

  • Damn I'd be embarrassed when that happens to me.. But If someone makes a video like this out of that embarrassment.. hahahahahah! the hell with it!!! I'll laugh so hard that I'll forget that it's me singing!!! hahahah!!!!

p.s. The cat is absolutely,, PARFAIT!!!!

  • did he actually sing that?!?!

  • @anastaire33 you mean scream?

  • greatest tenor crack EVER!

  • That high F is wicked hard, poor guy...recovered okay though

  • ahahhahhaa no puedo parar de reirrr hHhahahha!

  • oh my dear jesus! who is this?

  • Pauvre ténor ! Mais pour le chat,je prends !

  • Where did you get this recording? I have to know who this is, it's the funniest thing I've ever heard!

  • Comment removed

  • shit happens :) don't judge

  • just funny, man... of course it can happen, tonto del orto!

  • riscurile meseriei... =))

  • Give the guy a break! Most women cant even belt an E, let alone a poor opera tenor. He did his best lol, leave him alone

  • Those high F's are useless. A tenor does not need to sing any higher than a Db

  • @boagmuskie xD i can sing one semi tone below lol

  • Look at this:

    /watch?v=6Jf-lD8_iMs

  • This Tenor does have a beautiful voice, but the cat's face was so funny, it was just bad luck!

  • He tried high F and failed ! Sometimes you need to know your limits, and people often sing normal high "C" there ...

  • @evilinhumanform

You're right, most people sing a "normal" high C here... but the high F is written on the score and is the note every tenor should sing here !

And the high F is not to be reeached by anybody. When you think that even Pavarotti (in the Bonynge recording) does that note in falsetto. And you don't want to focus on a single note. I do prefer Pavarotti's Arturo even with a falsetto F than Matteuzzi's who does sing it in full voice.

  • I'm pretty sure this is the César Antoni incident... As far as fails go... This one is definitely up there... Too bad... He had a nice voice...

  • BELLLLISSSSIMMOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

  • didn't laugh like THAT for long time..........brilliant editing

  • the cat is just the icin on the cake to this video

  • Opera is a sport. It's just like in figure skating, when the skater makes split-second decisions on whether or not to attempt a quad. This aria sometimes requires a split-second decision on whether or not to go for that high F. This singer clearly thought he could handle it, and fell flat on his ass.

  • ok...ok..ok...I have to concede...I died...I did, but to his credit, he's definitely attempting a high F!!

  • Okay. I peed

  • wow... the show must go on i suppose #embarrassed

  • amazing hahaha

  • JAJAJAJJAJAJAJJAJAJAJJ the catt !!!

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who stepped on a cat?

  • Minchia un gallinaccio !!!

  • Good god!!! He sounded like someone literally stomped him in the gut.

  • 0:22 is great ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ lol jaja

  • Even the best singers have "bad voice days," but I think this one takes the cake! I'm sure the poor guy was embarrassed, but I couldn't help but laugh hysterically seeing the cat's face as the tenor hit that sour note! LOL! XD

  • @rcknrol1 So true, so true... that cat! XD

  • A very good singer, who dared to take risks, much respect to him - this is indeed way above high C

  • @Tenorino1980

That's "Creadeasi Misera" from I Puritani, and has an optional high F(2 octaves above middle C) writen in it. The guy hitted the Db just fine, but he bit too much by attempting that F.

  • Singer's name is Cesar Antoni Suarez. Apparently it ended his career. Too bad: He manges to cleanly hit notes most males couldn' if their lives depended on it. He blows it on an E above High C. That's up in soprano range.

  • @LeathanL It's actually the famous Puritani "F"....

  • I sincerely doubt it ended his career. One note--especially THIS one for tenors--ain't gonna do that. If his career "ended," I would wager it was for other reasons. :)

  • @BorisGodunov

You are right, it did't end his career. He sings a small part in the DECCA William Tell recording conducted by Chailly (Pavarotti sings Arnold). It is recorded several years after this performance.

  • Please stop making guesses.

It is neither Domingo nor Carreras.

Neither of them sang I Puritani.

  • it seams that's some one of the public that cry at the moment.

  • He is neither Carreras

  • He is not Domingo. It is not his voice. It is not his coloratura. It is not his timbre.

  • honestly i dont think its either, but its definately not carerras, parts of it sound like domingo but still a bit lyric. whoever it is is pushing like a madman and the cat is hilarious! i never get tired of this video.

  • i'm sure all musicians have had at least one moment like this in their careers :-)

  • oh my god that kitty thing is great.

  • I didn't know Florence Foster Jenkins did tenor arias!

  • If you start the video at 0:22 and stop it at 0:23, it sounds exactly like an infant crying. Now that's bel canto!

  • I remember hearing this in Chicago on the Midnight Special program on WFMT radio. What a sound! Does anyone know the opera?

  • Carreras?

  • No! This man cracked on a soprano F, Jose was lucky to sustain a Bb.

  • Tenor F

  • but man that dosen`t sound like Carreras at all!!You just hate him...

  • Hate Carreras? absolutely no. Everyone, even the greats, may make an error - not too often of course,.

  • he's not carreras he's domingo :)

  • nop! he's Domingo

  • maybe; I don't recognize him with certitude.

  • NYC opera 1974, Bev Sills was the Elvira and although she was facing the tenor very close remained cold blooded. That was 35 years ago, I recognised immidiatly tose terrible few seconds, but don't ask me the name of the tenor. I only remember those incredeeble years going way and back every night between the Met and NYC opera, witness of historimusical unforgettable moments, sometimes wondering how I would be able to see on the same evening, in different place, Sills or Sutherland

  • I have torn my house apart trying to find an old bootlegged audio of this opera so I could upload it and now I find that someone has beat me to it. This is one of the funniest cracks ever, but I give him credit for going for the F - few tenors in history make it.

  • Is this in San Francisco with Beverly Sills?

  • I'm not sure, though I think it's from the late 1980's after Sills retired. Maybe someone else knows where this is from.

  • ooh what animal is it that they kill in this vid??

but hey its a high high high F. A note nobody hits with easy. and who has done this with a nice sound. even if the pitch is there it sounds like a cat that gets a foot on her tail!!

  • Very amusing moment! Thanks for posting!

  • HAHAHAHA!!!

The cat is a very important factor in my "non-stop" laughin'

  • Il s'agit, c'est certain, d'une voix de ténor dramatique.

  • PFFF mdr un ténor lyrique qui se risque au contre fa ^^

  • jhajhajhajahjahajhajhajhja

  • Certified Intergalactic! lol... 0:22-0:24

  • You really made my day with that perfect "execution"! :-D

  • Oh my! Why did he even try for that God-awful F?

  • is this Cesar Suarez

  • While I want to blame Bellini for writing such a terrible phrase, I have to say the tenor was nuts. No audience would care if he ducked the F--it's actually standard to duck it! Rule of thumb for opera singers: if you can't hit the note 100% of the time, you shouldn't try to sing the note.

  • Credeasi Misera from I Puritani with that terrible high F he shouldn't have tried to hit!

  • hahha is this real? who is singing?

  • as someone once said, one high note is not a measure of a singers overall ability, so therefore a crack is not either.

  • I hope not, I really like his artistry... I think that the public's craze for the complete package (i.e. Callas, Pavarotti, Domingo... ect.) is causing young singers to push to do things that their voices simply won't do... it's becoming outrageous.

  • hahahahahahahaha! the cat is perfect

  • @aguacun Si,si,si !!!

  • @aguacun thats not a cat XD

  • Who is this!?

  • I think this is the funniest thing I have seen on youtube. The cat is priceless. The tenor will live to see another day.

  • yeah, that's exactly the worst part for the tenor. That he will live next day and be pointed out. I'm sure he wanted the earth to swallow him at that moment and his life to end right there!

  • I'd have still given him a standing ovation for at least attempting that horrendous excuse for a phrase.

  • wow... completely speechless. nice attempt? maybe? I don't even know what to say.. that is a high F...

  • hahahaha... This is the best thing ever...

  • This is I Puritani of Bellini!

    fantastic Crack!

  • As amusing as the cat is at the time of the "vocal accident", I actually feel sorry for the singer. I imagine most of the unkind posts here regarding this clip are from non-singers. Those who are singers will have some empathy toward this tenor's predicament.

  • I'm a singer... and this is hilarious. It is all about the unexpected cat placement. Of course you empathize with the singer... But you have be able to lighten up. (and hopefully laugh at yourself too.)

  • MY FAVOURITE OPERA CLIP ON YOUTUBE! i CAN'T STOP LAUGHING!!!!!

  • this singer has a very good voice projection, i "prefer" listening to a singer who misses one key to those tenors starting to push at Gs....

  • Will someone please post Pavarotti's "glorious" Don Carlo at the opening of La Scala season (in 1993?). He also has trouble with a line in Tosca, when he is arguing with Scarpia, I believe.

  • All singers make mistakes. The 1992 Don Carlo was Pavarotti on a bad night, there's a clip on YouTube of some of it.

  • Estava cantando tão bem, qdo um gato o aranhou e ele soltou esse agudo desafinado, acontece tem tantas pessoas que gostam de gatos, hehehehe !!!

  • hehehe!!!! :)))

  • LOL, This singer must have graduated from the same school as Villazon! HA, HA!! [2]

  • Any tenor is allowed not to reach a high E sometime, don't be so nasty.

  • He should not have tried.

  • Why not? You should not try when you believe you will not be able to make it. Otherwise, you are free to try. You might be mistaken of course, but you'll know this after you have tried it. These kind of mistakes are inevitable even in the most accompliched singers, aren't they.

  • Fortunately, high notes are not the be-all and end-all of operatic performances. Actually, many famous tenors have cocked up high Cs on stage, as evidenced by several other videos posted on YouTube. Pavarotti, for instance, did crack on the last note and hide behind Rassel in the process (see Pavarotti and Rassel at the end of the "Addio, addio" duet from Rigoletto). Ah well, such is life...

  • people love luciano too much and aint aware that luciano did not have great high notes all his life, only when hi was young.

  • hilarious

  • LOL, This singer must have graduated from the same school as Villazon! HA, HA!!

  • It's good remain in history as a great tenor (Caruso, Pavarotti, etc) but think about this, down the road, people will remember this crapy tenors as a shame to opera, some even will say: why did I pay for that ticket?! I wasted my money.

  • what just happened?

  • Some idiot tried hitting an F5 in Credeasi Misera...lol. That was funny.

  • i don't have any idea :P

  • what is the tenor in this recording?

  • This was Cesar Antonio Suarez, in San Francisco.

  • Interesting, how did you find that out?

  • trudno powiedzieć, krótki ten fragment

  • Co to za aria?
