I bought a universal type: w-w-b-grey and connected the civic honda 2004 b-b-green-w:
w-b
w-b
grey-green
b-w
That was the instruction they sent me when I bought it. But when I checked it trough the diagnostic tool at autozone, the number one sensor will give a code of negative charge. How do I fix it? Do ya know?
ive got 2 sensors on my zafira,a pre cat one & one after the cat.the pre cat ones reading is all over the place & also switching from lean to rich quickly, the other is reading 450mv & moving slightly up & down & on lean all the time, ive got high co on the emissions for the mot, which sensor is faulty here?anyone got any ideas?i don't know which one to replace.
@djvj2ert Have you looked at the simple things first like spark plugs, air filter ,pcv .Is the coolant temp getting hot enough and is the computer seeing the right temp from the coolant temp sensor.
@richpin06a yeah i have checked all that.the co is on 0.452% its supposed to be 0.200% the garage said the cat was ok & they sjjested a lambda sensor but seeing thry are £50 each i only wante to replace 1
@djvj2ert You actually answered your own question! The oxygen sensor is measuring oxygen content and catalytic efficiency based on oxygen content. Hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide is treated by one part of the converter generally leaner than 450 mv and NOX by a different part usually richer than 450 mv. It is possible to get favourable oxygen sensor readings but have CO readings that are above the limit.. The oxidation of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide is not measured by the sensor
@nesgael1 it doesnt matter now anyway.i sold that car 3 months ago when the pas packed up on it.the high emmisions turned out to be a knackered cat.loads of dosh
@djvj2ert to continue: carbon monoxide Hydrocarbons and NOX indicates the possibility of incomplete combustion and / or Catalytic converter inefficiency. Incomplete combustion can be a product of many factors. Timing belt, spark plugs, Knock sensor, Low compression, Fuel regulator , Incorrect injector pulse width, Mass airflow meter problems, valve problems, i can go on. some of these problems may not yet trigger the check engine light so please take a broad view of the problem. good luck!
hey richpin06a, i have a 99 saturn SL2 DOHC, with a po420 code, the converter and pipe is in great shape, new plugs and wires, new o2 sensor in the manafold, o2 sensor behind cat is almost a year old. the code is po420, bank 1. could the not so old o2 sensor behind the cat be giving me trouble?
Exhaust system leaks between the front and rear sensors can cause this code.If that is not the problem i would look at the post cat sensor and the wires going to it.

You had to fuck up a good video with stupid drug music insanity, go work at mcdonalds, why do you throw great info like this down the commode by injecting purposely into it trach noise!
I have seen the video with the obd-2 and that explains why my scanner was not reading any information. Good video, Thanks. I have a question? What would the post cat voltage look like if the cat were good? Nice song. What is the Name of it? Thanks
The voltage shifts of a post cat sensor with a good cat will be slow and confided. When the cat is worn out the post cat sensor will resemble the front sensor.
why is it supposed to go up and down like that??? that's what i don't understandd...

The government has you clowns running around worrying about OXY SENSORS instead of HORSEPOWER. In the old days we'd laugh you dopes out of the SHOP.

@djvj2ert Both sensors sound like they are working properly to me.

@djvj2ert If you have one of those pull you own part junk yards around you could pick one up for nothing and try that.

@richpin06a yeah, noing my luck i would get another knackered one,ive ordered 2 universal ones off ebay anyway.that should sort it one way or another.

hey, whats the name of that scanner you are using? all i could find are obd2 scanners, but they look like they just read codes.

wasnt there a song about OXYGEN?
Should have used a MODIS and viewed all the O2 readings

this is with a narrowband O2 sensor right?
whats the name of that song?

Thanks for the video. I am trying to DIY fixing the check engine light of my 05 Sienna. Good to find your video before I do anything.
Great and helpful.

This sensor is almost new and as you can see voltage shifts above and below .500 volts is very rapid.
