  • I love Ubuntu!

  • Linux Stickers Here

google -> redbubble rob brown stickers

  • Candles LMAO

  • Lmfao this looks like bodo shit or suin lmfao but nice ama try it o.o

  • The candle redirect the IR signal to the blue tooth

  • i was always wondering why it wouldn't work!

  • Very, very nice idea... replacing the Sensor Bar with the cheapest replacement: Candles!

That may be hilarious, but very well thought.

  • Cheap source of infra red

  • nice lamp

  • simple un solo desktop sino separalo x[

  • what the fuck

  • candles release ir light which the wii mote can pick up.

  • the candles play some roll with using the wii mote, apparently u dont need the thing on top of your tv to use it

  • IR WII bars can be bought on Ebay real cheap that are wireless i.e. run on batteries. meaning you dont need a Wii or candles. or space any two IR sources about 6 to 12 inches apart. A couple of IR LED's and a battery would also do the trick.

  • I'm sat here checking out what a laptop running ubuntu is like when treated as a desktop plugged into my 27" TV. Lol and i was wondering if there could be any better control system than the piece of crap mouse and keyboard I have. Then I saw this. I probably won't be arsed looking into it though. Plus, the candles are kinda annoying.

  • I can only see this working if the screens were huge, if you get my meaning, for like presentations and stuff, other than that, small monitors = nah

  • impressive

could you provide some details on how you did it?

  • Its actually possible to do that. It might require some custom coding, but since the WiiMote is bluetooth, it can connect to a computer via that. It has accelerometers, so it can track the movement.

  • wahts your program linux , windows xp??? How do you do the 3d

  • Wow! did you not see the title? He is using Ubuntu with the program Beryl which makes your desktop 3D.

  • that would be linux, its compiz. You can install it in all versions of linux its sweet.

  • newbie :s

  • yes I'm a newbie what'sb the problem

    i dont use linux

  • Nice :) i wonder if it would be possible with a webcam that tracks mouvements.

  • Most webcams would do a lousy tracking. Let me know if you find a good one!

  • Once you go Linux you would never go back.I guarantee it 100%. I have been pc user all my life and i got fed up with it.

  • Why is it? lol...

  • Ha nice point less but nice

  • lol nice, it must take a while to get use to using it for that

  • shitty wii

  • how long did it take u 2 practice dat?

  • Was geil :D

muss nich umbedingt nen fake sein, kann gut sein das jemand was dafür gecodet hat ;)

  • what buttons control the cube my guess will be a+b cos a is click i no

  • Dammit. I find this after selling my Wii. x)

  • nice

  • Ist das geil :D

Werde ich auch mal Probieren :D

  • 0_o wow!!!cooool!!!!!

  • I my PC is more bether

    linux frorever

  • spelling forever!!!

  • my dream *_*

  • really cool

  • stop fucking "wondering"... Go jhonny lee on youtube he shows you tha shit

  • Inappropriate comment.

  • I'm wondering what program or script is used for the Wii IR sensor. I heard of people using the motion sensor, too, besides IR.

  • Mmhmm.

  • wow omg

  • linux is the best and dat is the coolest thing ever i want to do it...

  • Cool

  • Does this use the Wii Remote's IR cam or does it use the motion sensor?

  • Judging by the fact that he used candles it was the IR sensing he used for pointing.

  • You got a point. Candles with IR sensing, why didn't I think of that.

  • I don't understand what is the use of the candles. Can someone explain to me? I was reading the walkthru on UbuntuForums and I thought the guy was either joking with candles or 'Candle' was the name of a program xD

  • Apparently the Wii remote IR camera can sense the candle lights.

  • Yeah I reread it and I think the Wiimote senses IR light to orientate itself and finding which direction is 'forward'

  • The IR cam. That's what the candles are for.

  • linux rock

  • Beautiful

  • that's cool

  • you can do this if you have a bluetooth receiver for your computer and a wii remote. As that is what the Wiimote uses BLUETOOTH!

  • think its fake tbh, cool, but fake.

this is so easy to fake, sorry if its real though :)

    nice vid

  • It is real, simple bluetooth your wiimote to your PC, then run your preferred app (glovepie) etc and then do what you want etc.

It's real, use google for more info.

  • ok, i take it back :)

  • not fake douche bag. GOOGLE IT. you can use it with windows and macs too.

  • read on dickhead, i already admited i was wrong nd took it back you fucking wanker

  • Don't argue with each other on somebody elses video, I'm sure the ownder doesn't appreciate it.

  • i'll spit it back at you and feel really good

  • Don't argue with each other on somebody elses video, I'm sure the owner doesn't appreciate it.

  • HOLY SHIT! THAT'S FUTURISTIC!!

    :O

    5/5

  • see household hackers video about making the wii mote work for the computer

  • sa moara mata ce tare e...de unde pula mea stii u sa faci deastea?????????

  • WOW!!! what?!?! wIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  • how did u do that? ima add u up and u can teach us

  • ...and im happy because i fix my pulseaudio

    -_____-

    nice job man.. 5stars

  • it's always that : you says linux is bad, and you test it... now you love it. it was the same thing with me

  • amazing + amazing

    any tutorial on this?

  • Search on Wiimote. There is an entire forum dedicated to this. I just did it myself and even experimented with the projected whiteboard part of it. The part shown in this video is actually really easy to setup.

  • You, sir, have my respect.

  • i very much agree

i'v used linux for a 2 days and already love it

  • wow, most of the ppl commenting are fucktards. This is Linux you morons. It's not Windows Vista!!

  • I KNEW VISTA WOULD BE AWESOME!

    *goes out and buys vista*

  • It's still not vista..

  • i love sarcasm :)

  • is it vista :O? O my god!!

  • UBUNTU FOOL

  • itäs ubuntu, gosh!

  • Read the title.. goddammit..

  • If you don't have good hardware you should not turn the effects on. Vista sucks these effects use a lot of recources.

But when you want to see those effects at an Ubuntu PC it's not as hard as in Vista. I'm running it on an notebook it just works fine. Yes I tried Vista on that Notebook first. I won't use it anymore.

You see Freeware is not $hit ;)

  • Yes you're right. You convinced me with such good arguments.

  • Lmao, you can't? it's for LINUX. Linux doesn't memory hog like Vista does. It's also free because it's not made by a company. It's built up by geeks, then again so is Windows.

  • You guys are getting trolled, methinks.

  • if u'd know better u would ralize trhe half assed excuse for engineers that M$ hires dont know shit about designing an OS. it will be ages before M$ can develop an OS as stable and with all the features that Linux with XGL offers and even that would require a supercomputer to run. linux on the other hand can run that sweet stuff on a P3 even without a hitch.

  • You sir, clearly do not see the beauty of sarcasm and satire. Vista sucks...almost drivers work for it.

Whereas with Linux, you can literally get almost ANY driver to work with it. Freeware sucks...at first. I've used linux non-stop for about 3 or 4 weeks now, and I am starting to love it.

  • It doesn't cost money because people unlike you want to share ideas and thoughts.

  • ....lol.

    @ You.

  • Where is your IR-bar for the wiimote ? is this a joke ?

  • he is using to candles under the screens ;)

  • how big are those screens? I have 2 19"ers but they're no name brand..

  • Still good, I have 2 17" acer LCD's. (want OLED ones though. =]

  • OLED!? Would be nice but the closest thing to that right now is Sony's 11-inch TV isn't it?

  • You know, the MacBook air is also OLED but the price of it is a rip off, I still one want one though.

  • sorry to rain on your parade, but the MacBook Air is LED-Backlit TFT LCD I just checked wikipedia.

  • OK, well it better that I am corrected than misinform others, thanks.

  • they kinda look simmilar to the size of my lg.

anyways r u joking about "no brand" cause i thought only that cheep crap food from aldi are no brands

  • my screens say starlogic on them. Try to even Google that!

  • It's cheap Walmart stuff =P

Try to find the panel brand ;)

  • i love ubuntu .. so awesome

    nice vid

  • You need a Wiimote,Sensorbar,or anything like it,and a Bluetooth lunge-thing.

    that's all..

  • what i must to buy to connect wii to computer?

  • hahaha you should rig the Nintendo Power Glove to work on that thing! hahahahaha jk

  • actually it really isn't fake at all it's very possible

  • If you go to wiili(dot)org they have programs to use a wiimote in OSX, Windows, and Linux. I'm not sure how to set it up but its definitely possible.

  • but ur a retard! google GlovePIE u n00b!!!

  • I've been doing this for about 1 year now. And I can tell you here and Now. That this is AWESOME. You can play FPSs on your computer in windows and in Ubuntu/Kubuntu(Linux Distos) you can use it with Compiz-Fusion(like in this vid) and it's all great fun.

  • you moron. glove pie is windows only. only n00b use windows.

  • Hey I use windows, CBA putting Ubuntu on my Pc ATM, plus all of the applications I use are best used on windows. (still i want a Mac.

  • EFFIN' SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!

  • me wanteeee

  • For those of you saying it's fake you are SAD. Try learning the power of linux by trying it out. Don't mock the work. This guy may of sat endless hours configuring his computer to work like that.

  • the big cube on TWO screens Yes !!

  • Fuckin rock on, thanks for uploading :)

  • your fake.

its not windows its linux which is differnt its not "limited" like windows is.

  • ...this is possible to do....

  • i just said that this is possible to do, i know it for a fact, so you can't be sure this is a fake

  • I know this guy, I have been to his Flat and tried it out. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean its fake

  • you need blue tooth

  • evviva linux!

  • No my friend thats not fake thats ubuntu! And it's free so try it yourself...

  • I guess this guy never heard of ubuntu or linux :)

  • Windows user fails hard. :) It's called Linux. Awesomest OS ever. RedHat, Ubuntu, Mandriva, openSUSE, Fedora, Gentoo, the list goes on! All the different flavors for you to choose from, all free and MUCH better than your poor-coded proprietary software. The world does not consist only of Faildows. Actually, considering the increasing use of Linux in every-day technology, I'm rather surprised you HAVEN'T heard of it.

  • I wish I could run some windows games over linux, with my move to console gaming though running linux seems like a nice option. Might install tiny-vista for my gaming needs lol, using my legit vista cd-key.

  • just use wine so u can run your favorite windows

    programs

  • Seems nice but if i play a First person Shooter? Like COD4 will i be able to turn around? (like push the mouse to the side of ur monitor?) cause i aim next to the screen so it shouldnt see anything?

And all it needs is 1 Bluetooth Adapter?

  • I allready have this in windows, but using this in linux will be even more usable for my linux machine. I'll give it a try right away :)

  • i sat there and watched someone do the same thing

  • Was the pointer easy to control or is this just a neat showoff but impractical? Is this easy to setup in linux?

  • just a moment... I am very addled. When the Wii works with Bluetooth, why do the controllers has IR emitters and the acceptorbar, IR acceptors? Or is it only in the German Version with IR?

  • bluetooth is how the wiimote talks to the wii and computers w/ bluetooth

the wiimote it-self has a IR cam on the front of it

the sensor bar has IR led lights on it and the wiimote reads it telling it where it is thats how u get a movealbe pointer

  • Bluetooth is used to send the information about positioning to the computer/wii. IR is simply emitted from the 'sensor' bar to give the remote an anchor in space. This video shows candles being used instead of a sensor bar.

  • hát kurvára :D

  • Nagyon izgi :D :P

  • the candles emmit infrared light for the wiimote

  • The dark window in the end of the remote is a IR camera, the sensor bar contains 2 IR diodes. The blue tooth is only the link between the console and the remote.

  • the sensor does only send IR, the receiver is in the remote. The IR signature is a little bit weak, but sufficient. try yourself, i did it works

  • next time i play, ill try it out =D always willing to try sumthin new

  • Idiot, do you know what IR is? It's heat. Candles emit way more heat than a shitty little sensor bar.

  • You are wrong.

  • What are the candles for?

  • Sympas

  • yah that is sort of cool - but utterly, utterly useless.

  • lol ppl w0w wat kind of explanations for this are u comming up with??? its a wii mote no strings or leds the remote works with silicon wieghted plates and iam guessing some sort of blue tooth connection its actually more simple than u think look it up if u want to find out more i guess
