Hey!! i love ur videos! i just did my big chop today!!! my hair is soo short! anyways, i went to the store and bought a lot of stuff..i dont know if you have tried the ramoni leave-in silk conditioner?? i dont know if i should trust it. *sigh*
I had a hair dresser to tell me, that I need to get my ends trim every 6-8 wks, and I don't think that I will be going back to that place anyway soon. I have learned how to trim my ends myself. Which being in a small town and black women here don't the natural look, so you know that I get looks and talked about. But it is all good. God Bless you, I enjoy your vid.
I am really getting frusterated with my hair. I am growing more and more impatient with how long it takes to comb out since its growing and its natural. Natural hair is exhausting. Maybe I am more lazy than I thought.
hi, thanks for your videos, i really enjoy the creative looks you put together. i just have a quick question-do you detangle each time you cowash or only after a shampoo? do you find that you get many tangles since you cowash as opposed to wearing stretched styles after washing? thanks!
Hi. I subscribed to your channel. Your hair is beautiful and moisturized- it's amazing that the products you use are so affordable. You shared a wealth of helpful information in this video and I have certainly taken notes. Thank you.
@chesoj Yeah, theres ALOT of tutorials of relaxed and naturals alike using 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO, its suppose to be the highest/best quality of olive oil) for thier hair. They use it to seal thier ends, for hot oil treatments, and so forth. I never used it so I cant say if its as great as they say it is but you should totally watch some videos on youtube about it. Just type olive oil for hair and your there. :)

The comb can definitely be found at ur local beauty store usually in the multi comb packs. I think there's ten combs to a pack for about 2 to 5 bucks not Sally's though.
Just want to add that your videos are very informative to newlynats. I was about to throw in a weave until I saw your defiining curls vid. You are very informative when making your videos and they have professional quality. Might I add you are a pretty lady. Keep em coming please!
lol heya :)...just to inform you, that comb is very common over here in namibia (africa), we call it a 3 line comb, for obviouys reasons. I use it for separating my hair when plating it or something, but i hardly use it to actually comb. But yeah,it's amazingly common over here.
I definitely watched all of your videos! I have never gotten a perm and I'm 23 nd African American, I straightened my hair a lot but everytime I wet it, it curls back up. I love it! My hair isn't as thick as yours or as long since I shaved it low like a boy last year but it's shoulder length nd looks shorter w/flexies. Point is you've given me new ideas! Thank you!
i like to usually flat iron my hair. and i've noticed that some of my ends are straight. i likk to do my hair natural cuz its much easier. so i wanted to know if there was a way to make those ends kinky again and not straight? you get me? so please answer bakk. by the way i looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove your haair. i want mine likk yours. please help me!! thank you
@nilisa2203 You broke your curl pattern.... I made the same mistake..you're going to have to go thru the process of new growth again and let the straight ends go. I am so afraid to do a length check because the flat iron ruined mine. you can do it Girl hang in there and lose the iron!
Hi@ Simplyounique! I absolutely love your video tetorials! i wondered if you have tried Mary Kay TimeWise facial sets? If you or anyone else would like free samples to try before you buy then send me an email or message on my channel candiecomer15 at gmail thank u!
what is co wash? im new to the natural ive been natural for over a year but have been wearing weave but it is at a great length im comfortable with to begin styling...
that comb is awesome for natural hair. Beautifulbrwnbabydoll first introduced it on YT and Its great! Thanks for reminding me of it so i can finally buy it
I thought those who inquired about the pink comb you use would like to know it is sold at Sally's. I found it in a pack of combs called Tool Structure..the have it in both pink and green.
I am still in love with your vids you've been with me since I've bc'd and now I've made a year. I can't do with the EcoStyler I've tried others but no comparison but the Argan is softer on my coils. Water is a must.
Great review detailed and keep the videos coming your makeup is always on point!
THE BEST FAQ I have watched! Thank You for consistently being personable, direct, and real. Where did you purchase the Giovanni leave in in that huge pump bottle!?
i think your video quality is probably the best of all the people I'm subscribed to, the lighting, the finished product, the room, i love it all! and i like your simple elegant do's.
Hey I don't know if this will help anyone, but Denman makes a comb that is pretty similar. I bought mine a couple of years ago online... I just googled it and I don't think it was very expensive:) Love your hair and your vids...and your room color:)
I am 2ys. Post relaxer, this summer, I have really taking a liking to the high bun. I’ve worn it for maybe a week or so. so, i guess alicia james is like the soundtrack to the natural hair movement now? that's good though. she's talented and we need to support each other
Thank you for doing this. It was very helpful. Though I have some problems.
Q: My hair doesn't seem to grow. It never grows up to my shoulders. I don't know what type of hair I have but i am full Zambian so...
I can never seem to find anything that works on my hair. I REALLY wish I could have long hair like yours or something like that. I have tried co-washing but I never feel/see any difference.
Right now I am considering cutting my hair and starting to grow it again but I want to be prepared.
Your hair is growing you are just not retaining length.. Make sure you are moisturizing your hair regularly.. Water is our hairs best friend. Apply an oil to your hair to seal in the moisture whenever you wet it. Pay close attention to the ends of your hair because it is the oldest and most fragile part.. Try doing protective styles such as braids, twists, or wigs for a little while. This will give your hair a little break and help in length retention.
I recently bought The Science of Black Hair Care by Audrey Davis Sivasothy, and I felt like it was great because it has all these facts about hair and how to build a regimen, protein/moisture balance, how to learn to understand your hair, etc.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! My hair is very protein sensitive....I found that out when I was doing egg/protein treatment. OMGoodness!! my hair go sooooooooooo hard....it took my over 2 hours to comb my out without damaging it. I know now that I must get my protein from the foods I eat
Great vid! Do you do anything to keep your hair stretched? Also, when detangling I know you use the green comb, but would you suggest a denman like brush? My hair just puffs out and loses curl pattern once I detangle it. Then its just a big puffy head of hair. LOL!
Thanks.. I keep my hair stretched when I do braid-outs and twist-outs.. My hair is in a bun most of the week. I am not a big fan of brushes. I feel like the denman brush rips too much of my hair out.
Your hair looks Great! So healthy and shiney! Thanks for the information it was very interesting. and I can't not wait to perfect those easy breezy buns that you do.
I use the Shea Moisture products like the curl smoothie the conditioning hair milk the shampoo and thats pretty much all of the products I use from that line.........
I didn't go through all the comments so I don't know if anyone has said it but the comb is sold at Sally's Beauty Supply for just under 2 bucks. It's made by Tool Structure...
You are so pretty! :D You should do more make up tutorials. It's so hard to find a youtube personality that does make up for dark skin that isn't out of control! lol!
HI Kerry..I love that Shea Moisture line. The shampoo, the hair milk lotion, and the curling smoothie..The shampoo doesn't make my hair feel stripped but I can tell its clean..hahahaha I got out the shower one time saying "how is it doing this" i kept touching my hair lolol...I did wonder if i was doing too much because I rinse my hair evryday. i dont use conditioner unless I feel its losing softness but I notice my hair co-ops when I rinse it evryday I love your videos girlie.U r awesome.
Thank you.. I have not read that book yet.. I have heard some awesome reviews on it.. Some have even said it's life changing. I am so happy to see more research being done on black hair.
can yo do a tutorial on the bun style? We have the same length of hair and I cant do a bun to save my life. It would be interesting to see how you put it up in the bun. thanks
Your hair pattern is very similar to mine so I love watching your vids. I have been natural for 6 years. But I've always hidden my hair undeneath a wig, weave or braids. TJ Maxx & Marshall's (select areas) also sell gift sets which include shampoo, conditioner & a leave-in conditioner for $12.99 as well re: previous comment above.
@SimplYouique YES 5xs I go to the salon every couple of months to get my hair blow dryed & it always leads to a trim...I will not be doing that again anytime soon.
Great video! I love your hair as they look healthy and I like your curl pattern! Please keep on doing these aweson question and answer videos...they totally rock! People are asking the same questions I am asking myself. Great work!
Thanks for the video. I had my had flat ironed at a salon a few months ago for my husband's birthday. Major heat damage. Had to cut off three inches. So no more heat for me!!!
How do u define your curls like that? I've tried & tried but I do not know what to do with my natural hair. Can you do a video on how u get your hair like this?
Hi lovely video when can we expect make up tutorials again? Also eco styler does not do anything for me. I have 4c texture hair do you have any other suggestions? Thank u
The only thing I can suggest is for you to do twist outs or braid outs.
I won't be doing makeup tutorials for a while.. If I am inspired by something I see then I might come on and do one but for now I will leave it up to those talented ladies on here sharing there skills.
? Do you apply the Giovanni Direct Leave in daily or only after a wash or cowash? I just did the big chop 2 months ago. I am having issues with dry hair. Love your videos & your hair is beautiful!
I agree about the trims. When hair is relaxed you're continuing get touchup & heat styles therefore needing ends trim. You're not putting that kind of stress on your hair if your hair is natural, so there's no need for regular trims.
I watched a video where the girl said we sometimes take our relaxed routine over to our new natural hair. When we were relaxed we needed to trim more but now we slave to protect our ins. (Maybe the word slave is extreme but it feels like it sometimes)
I agree.. When you are natural you have to let go of the routine you had when you were relaxed. Girl, protecting those ends is beneficial to all hair types / states.. I know how you feel though. :-)

Hi lovely video when can we expect make up tutorials again? Also eco styler does not do anything for me. I have 4c texture hair do you have any other suggestions? Thank u
d1am0nds 8 months ago
Hi d1am0nds,
The only thing I can suggest is for you to do twist outs or braid outs.
I won't be doing makeup tutorials for a while.. If I am inspired by something I see then I might come on and do one but for now I will leave it up to those talented ladies on here sharing there skills.
SimplYounique 8 months ago
? Do you apply the Giovanni Direct Leave in daily or only after a wash or cowash? I just did the big chop 2 months ago. I am having issues with dry hair. Love your videos & your hair is beautiful!
MsCupCake1980 8 months ago
@MsCupCake1980
Thanks.. I apply it only after washing or co-washing my hair.
SimplYounique 8 months ago
I agree about the trims. When hair is relaxed you're continuing get touchup & heat styles therefore needing ends trim. You're not putting that kind of stress on your hair if your hair is natural, so there's no need for regular trims.
I enjoy video, good info!

I watched a video where the girl said we sometimes take our relaxed routine over to our new natural hair. When we were relaxed we needed to trim more but now we slave to protect our ins. (Maybe the word slave is extreme but it feels like it sometimes)
MsParkersmile4me 8 months ago
@MsParkersmile4me
I agree.. When you are natural you have to let go of the routine you had when you were relaxed. Girl, protecting those ends is beneficial to all hair types / states.. I know how you feel though. :-)
