You may have to make a sequel to set it right about how the conquestadors torchered and killed the Mayans if the didn't convert. And maybe show how ancient artifacts were burnted, thus leading up to a third movie about 2012 in modern time, and just what that means.
The movie theater is half full/half empty. I watched this movie again and was a bit better 2nd time. Still, I'd like to see some 2012 theories in movies even if it is a science fiction flick.Too bad Hollywood Writers are so brain dead and keep resurecting old movies to remake. Nothing new in Hwood.

Awesome footage, this was shot in the jungles of Veracruz which looks very authentic but I think Chiapas would have been a better setting but the native Indians there are mean mothers. Mel boosted the economy in Veracruz while shooting, multitudes of extras, I have cousins living there, they helped with the catering, Mel was bearded, bathed lesss often but was surrounded by body gaurds every way of the process, one great genius at work.

everybody keeps getting mixed up. there is a trailer at the beginning of the movie that says, "600 years before Columbus..." but it is a separate movie. This movie takes place around the time of the mayan decline, and the time of hostile, unscrupulous spanish takeover.
I am a Mayan and I thought this movie was great as a ACTION/SUSPENSE movie but as a film to learn about my people then no way man, its not a good movie at all.

hehehe took the words out of my mouth.. i guess you'll never find a thing to satisfy everybody.. there's one thing to say: for a movie with almost the entire cast being amateurs i think they have done an awsome job.. leave all history behind, apreciate the talent of the actors. Personally i'm in love with Rudy.. i always had something for the latin-indian or whatever the political correct term is.

Mayas were like that...they were violent and killed and sacrificed to... And alot of people confuse them with Aztecs in the movie because they kill like crazy but no youre wrong. Aztecs were 100 times more brutal than that. They would sacrifice new born children. Imagine now how they must of fought?

sweet!!! if you have windows moviemaker (which comes with windows xp anyways) you can use that. all you have to do when you open the software is import the movie to the soft ware and split it every 9 minutes or so coz you wont be able to upload movies more than 10 minutes on youtube. plz let me know when you do this!!! thanks

another error in the movie was at the end when the Spaniards came. Supposably the Movie was set during the Mayan drought. Uhh the spaniards didnt arrive during the Drought! they came atleast 300 years after it!

everybody keeps getting mixed up. there is a trailer at the beginning of the movie that says, "600 years before Columbus..." but it is a separate movie. This movie takes place around the time of the mayan decline, and the time of hostile, unscrupulous spanish takeover.

I am a Mayan and I thought this movie was great as a ACTION/SUSPENSE movie but as a film to learn about my people then no way man, its not a good movie at all.
First of all our ancestors did not hire MERCANARIES to go and hunt and capture innocent people then sacrifice them, Only warriors were sacrificed who were captured in battle.
