Rick Santorum on Illegal Immigration - NOT Conservative

NumbersUSA just changed their grading of Santorum from a D- to an A-. Get this, because of one speech he gave on the campaign trail the other day in South Carolina. Can you say WHITEWASH? lol. I'm sorry but one speech given on the campaign trail while fishing for conservative votes does not erase a decades long horrible record on immigration.

The role he played in the defeat of the Simpson/Smith bill alone should give him an F- for life. That defeat is what led to the current crisis.

Santorum can not claim to be conservative. On Nov 29, 1994 Rick Santorum voted YES with Newt Gingrich to establish The World Trade Organization. True conservatives do no support big government, especially the ultimate big government, world government. This one vote proves Santorum & Gingrich are ultimate big-government liberals.

The Coulter quote is dead on. And your point about Santorum's culpability for the present immigration crisis is well made. If idiots like Santorum hadn't helped block it, E-Verify would have been made mandatory in 1996, and the massive illegal immigration of subsequent years would have been prevented.

With this in mind, calling Santorum "not conservative" on illegal immigration is quite an understatement. He is more like a "Judas Iscariot" on the issue.

@theseethingrainweeps I agree. He is also quite the big government spender - the very antithesis of Tea Party principles. I just hope the brain-dead wing of the conservative movement wakes up and takes the time to properly vet this guy before the upcoming primaries. So far, they have just flocked mindlessly from one "conservative" candidate to the next - without actually taking the time to find out where they stand on key issues.
