  • It's all about the decanter of port and a stilton cheese. Get in!

  • these are the days when people did quiz shows for the fun of it

  • OMG!!!!!! I had that portable TV......the exact same one in my bedroom as a teen!!!

  • God those prizes were shit!!

  • it's obvious the BBC never had any money for the prizes for

    this show,they are awful!!

Les made jokes about the contestants leaving the prizes behind.

I think i would as well.

The cheque book and pen is actually a better prize as at least it is a souvenir

of your time on the show.

Les knew how bad this show was which was why he always took the p*ss.

  • LMAO - The star prize is partly represented by a plate of fish, potatoes and asparagus spears. More meals-on-wheels than orient express.

  • Orient Express isn't all *that* bad, but I bet he had to make do with the stilton.

  • love ya les ,from one manc to anorther

  • I just got it! The association of a BLANK cheque. Yes???

  • Les is a legend and a hero of mine. Brilliant man.

  • I used to love the way Les Dawson used to take the p**s out of the show.

  • The candelabra's my choice...maybe the stilton...

  • im sorry graham norton just aint in the same league as this dude

  • You know its the 80s when paul shane and rustie lee are celebrity guests

  • If there's no Liza Goddard then I'm turning over

  • This clip was from series 9 (1986).

  • Why do you know such things? :)

  • I could tell by the style of the studio set that was used.

  • You either worked on the show or watch too much tv

  • I remember watching this as a kid n really wanting the blankety blank cheque book n pen. Does anyone watching actually have one, or know anyone that got one? :))

  • I've heard they're pretty valuable on ebay...

  • Yes - I know someone who's got one. She wasn't on the show but worked for the BBC at the time, her pal worked in BBC props and got her to steal one for her!

  • I saw one on ebay a while back for £500 as the starting bid.

  • was ment to write tounged..lol

how can the people actually be excited back then,, i mean a pen! it still had the same function back then!

  • he tonged her... eergghhh

  • Les Dawson was hilarious. The bad prize I remember from this show was "a selection of board games".
