  • O love watching stoked and you guys have rocked it every episode. please take the time you need toget yor passion back and pray to the ryptic gods to give us somthing (a galaxy conquest mode!)

  • Wow, right when it goes F2P and more people than ever before have started to play.

  • @gentleuterus That's just how they roll. Hype the shit out of the game then walk away when we need real news.

  • i guess cryptic didn't pay this month's hype check

  • @clugzo Careful, speaking like that will get you banned.

  • Not really surprised. I really like your, as in Christ, shows, but the driving force behind this one always seemed to be Jeremy.

  • Star Wars the Old Republic gets it where Star Trek Online failed. Bioware is already planning a major content push with another one in March which will include a new planet with solo content for level 50 players. Honestly, I was initially excited for f2p - but if the devs can't promise the same or similar level of content post-launch that TOR has then it will fail. 10 months with NO new content other than some game system revisions? That's a recipe for failure for any MMO.

  • Soooooooooooooooooooooooo sad:(:(:(

  • Sorry to hear you're ending the show for the time being, But I have to agree to agree with you, the content drought has dragged on for so long that there's not much to talk about; at least, not enough to justify even a 10min show. It's also not surprising that people are starting to fall away through disinterest, considering how long the drought's been. I hope you do come back soon; I've got you on my watch list here at youTube, so I'll know when you have a new STOked episode. ;)

  • Well that sucks, the only two shows that you have made that I liked was STOked and Jupiter@Nite. :(

  • I love STO... I just started playing a couple weeks ago during my Christmas break. It took me about 3 days to hit max level and a week to literally finish all the episodes and do almost everything in the game. I havent messed around with the foundry yet but this game is seriously lacking content.

  • @avengersoul and with f2p they made the leveling faster they really are going to shoot for endgame farmers and stuff. they have the combat system both ground and space are awesome. but they should have tons of quest rather then 3 days worth as you said and with the faster leveling thats very true.

  • At least dress to the occasion!

  • noooooooooooooooooooooo, i just subscribed.

  • STOKED has a lot on its shoulders now. 1) it has the pressure of major MMO launches - TOR and Guild Wars 2 coming up to keep its audience 2) it has the pressure of transitioning to f2p and attracting a new audience and keeping them 3) it has the pressure of being the only Star Trek game in development that's released (for years too) 4) it has the pressure of being the only "canon" way of getting new stories set in the prime universe - discounting novels. That's a lot riding on one game's

  • @Browncoat1984 shoulder's. I certainly hope that the devs have the ability to deal with these pressures and deliver a game that can compete with big new and upcoming names like GW2 and TOR and I think with the right amount of care and love it can. I've been enjoying TOR and I certainly plan on checking out GW2 but I'm keeping an eye on STO (and my other MMO LOTRO) as well and I'm sad to see STO go as its one of two podcasts (Gateworld podcast) that I follow religiously....

  • @Browncoat1984 and Gateworld podcast has been having the same problems since Stargate went off the air :(.

  • Any time I hear someone say they do not want to be "adjective", they always followup with exactly what they said they did not want to be.

  • To go on record I only liked this video to dislike it.

  • Chris, thanks for bringing us so much STOked over the years, most of which you did for free for the good of the community. Surprised some people are being so rude to you about you decision to take a break. Looking forward to possible future episodes. Good luck in all your endeavours.

  • Take a break from Sci Fi and play World Of Tanks for a while. Thanks for all the great STOked episodes.

  • I dont think TOR killed STO at all, cryptic had basically let STO die, the PvP is literally the only thing to do at endgame and they barely added any sustainable content besides re-running old missions. I agree with your decision to put this series on hold, there is little in the game and TOR is much newer, has much more content, and has much more of a community than STO. But admittedly i will miss this show, which i've followed since pre-beta. Here's to the future!

  • @Loftis02 the game its self has always been a issue i have lost count how many company's it has gone threw before cryptic threw it together using the champions engine. launched way to early with very little content then bought and sold twice totally screwing up there plains. i hope after f2p hits pwi kicks the devs in the ass and get the content out.

  • Sorry to hear this! I can't help but feel that STO was dying for a long time and TOR finally killed it. Good luck with whatever you decide to do next!

Note: I don't play either game but watched your shows because of your enthusiasm.

  • Unhappy that you just drop shows the minute your bored, move it to the community and do something else if you can't be arsed

  • @joshwajustify92 I agree, it's not ideal. But I realized after the fact how we literally ran out of runway. I had been convincing my self the subject matters we had planned were going to be great... But, they simply were stretches to fill time.

The show means a lot to me, and I want every episode of STOked to meet a certain bar, I simply can't release content that does not match my expectations of it, the honest issue is, I just took to long to see it.

    Stay tunned for updates,

    -Chris

  • @jupiterbroadcasting yea you cant make a show when theirs no news or content. maybe rather then weekly format you guys no a ep of stoked once a month.

  • 42:48 Like in Doomsday Device... the remastered version has the holo-Klingon disguise.

  • 39:19 What a Mk XI/XII Borg set needs... instead of an Assimilated Tractor Beam...

    GIVE US SHIELD NEUTRALIZATION!

  • In other news -- announcing the newest Jupiter Broadcasting show, "TORed".

  • @tamashdene I hope not.

  • I think that the developers simply don't see just how big a problem the complete lack of content really is. They think that when the F2Pers get in on the 17th that all of the content will be new and they'll spend money on the C-Store.

And maybe they will. But what's going to happen in a month when they've played all of the content in the game?

My prediction for 2012: STOked won't be coming back because Cryptic won't give anyone a reason to come back to it.

  • JB i am a big fan of the show it allowed me to keep up with the latest star trek news. I am one of the people that waited till STO became free to play. I believe that there will more people than you think. what you character's name in the game.

  • If Star wars Galaxies could keep it's community loyal and existent up until the last day, considering the shambles it became, I don't see STO losing everyone . It's a passionate fanbase, and as Chris said, if the Foundry steps up to task, it will change everything. I didn't expect a burnout announcement so soon after going solo but, It happens. You were honest, I just wish you had hung in there until at LEAST F2p launch day! BTW if anyone has not noticed, jan 17th= 1701. :P

  • Well, might as well un-sub since this is the only thing i'm here for.

  • @TheMatstan good job. you should keep that to yourself lmfao.

  • Comment removed

  • Hahaha, now I know STO is in trouble. I haven't played in months, despite still watching this show. Most people I know have stopped too. My fleet is almost gone, as are many others. Cryptic dropped the ball. Shoulda listened to the PvPers a year ago and they might have had a good, well balanced game that didn't have stupid exploits that all the PvPers knew about but the devs didnt listen to. Voldemort since launch. Man you guys (Cryptic) blow.

  • oh :( so thats the last show i specifically come on to JB (minus Faux Show) to watch gone :( i miss the peak with J@N STOked LOTSO :( still love you guys but this makes me sad :(

  • @power543 Don't worry man, we've got new stuff in the works, and as of now, it's just a hiatus.

    -Chris

  • i played sto becasue it was my only source fot trek cannon, but the lack of content is just really bad.

  • I went ahead and watched the episode again in full length and I have to say one thing: I am 100% confident that STOked will return for the coming featured episode. Chris was just so passionate about how he was bringing forward his hopes for that series that it really has to **** for STOked not to cover that.

  • Yeah watching this episode has made me worry about STOs future a lot more than I was before watching this.

  • As much as STOked kissed the ASS of the game during the Year of Hell and the constant justifications of the bugs, and now you end the show because you got on the fucking bandwagon and left the game for the Next Big Thing? I was upset when Jeremy left, it made sense with all the apologies he made for the game that he would go and work for it. But you...you just got bored and moved on after kissing the game's ass for two years. This is from a fellow Jupiter Force member, and I have lost faith.

  • @shamrockduck Goodbye, Jupiter Broadcasting. If you wanted to make this a job, you shouldn't have just quit because the mood struck you. You had a responsibility to your viewers and you shirked them. Making podcasts is never going to make you money if you cancel them.

  • @shamrockduck Sorry you feel that way.

  • @jupiterbroadcasting Sorry enough to boot me from the fleet for speaking my opinion, I see. So apparently my statements were "damaging to the fleet." Aaaaaand dropping a podcast that viewers depend on simply because one is bored isn't, apparently. No real loss there anyway.

  • @shamrockduck Making videos is a way of living for Chris. Fulltime. STOked does not have enough material for new videos for now. So, what if he moves on for a bit. Do you know what hiatus means? Don't get a stick up your butt just because the world changes and you hate it. Change happens. If you don't find a game entertaining why should you keep playing it? Also, if you don't have content, how the hell do you expect a show?

  • @SecretAgentJaviOO7 What bothers me most is the YEAR of no content, and STOked acting as apologists for the game and making excuses, only to drop the show when new content looms just over the horizon in favor for The Next Big Thing. If Chris didn't want to run the shit himself, what's wrong with passing it over to Irish or Murphy? STOked was one of the first podcasts devoted to STO. DEVOTED. Devoted, to me, does not mean leaving when you find something else.

  • @shamrockduck i think they should move away from weekly if they bring the show back most games don't get that much news or content to have a show every week. the games pretty much dead now nobody came back when early access launched. when starwars loses its launch hype sto might get its players back and hopefully by then they acully are rolling out content.

  • I had a strange feeling after I saw the review that he gave TOR a week or so ago that the stoked host was at his crossroads with STO.

    Stoked will be missed

  • STOked has to much faith in the foundry, bottom line is that you do not get anything doing them like you get from the "cryptic" missions so they are only for fun or when you are wery bored.

  • R.I.P.

  • Wow, really? No more STOked? Well, I guess it goes to show how much trouble STO is in.

Best Wishes, Chris. Keep your head up.

  • as a person who's played since BETA - STO in the ONLY game I play

  • @rextrek and ?

  • whaaaaa? dammmm........yes, please continue to do so.........I look forward to them

  • Noooooooooooooooo.................

  • lol somebody started to get addicted to SWTOR...

  • Wow, everyone is taking breaks from STO until Cryptic adds content.

  • Loved Tuesdays as it was always STOked day. But I understand the game does not have any new stuff to really cover. But what would be good if you can. From time to time you could make 5 minute videos about news and twitt leakes etc..

  • I was looking for a quote to sum this up for now: "This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but with a whimper - T.S.Eliot.

  • Followed stoked since episode 1. Great show, gone thrue several changes. And yes, im worried about the future of STO as well, content is still dodgy, the remake of STF's was great, but still it's not enogh. And yes, they have to do something about the foundry, getting those great missions forward, i don't play the foundry at the moment, becouse i havent found those great missions. and the ui to find them sucks!

  • Thank you Chris for all the hard work on this show. I followed it for a long time and enjoyed it a lot. I think it is good to put it on hiatus and your predictions are all true. 2012 is a make it or break it year for STO.

  • So no STO for me and now I won't even have STOked. Well that's a great way to start the year...

  • STOked our best to you all. Good Luck

  • I can't say I'm happy about this motion but if I were in your situation and had a lot more intrest in SWTOR I'd likely do exactly the same thing + I somewhat saw this comming as you seemed to be a lot happier when you did the CNN-alpha Show Saturday. Guess I'm going to watch that and see if I#m going to play that myself sometime in the future.

  • Sorry to see the show go, but I think we all see there is a danger of retreading old ground. It was a perfect show for me to see live since it was GMT friendly and not about a heavy subject like Linux. It also was quite fun. Hope it comes back when your interest has returned.

  • "He's dead Jim!"

    NOOOOOOOOoooooooooo......

  • And i just started playing again CHRIS!!

  • Sad to see STOked take a time out have been following you guys since the start. Good luck will keep an eye out for new shows.

  • I hope TOR dies in a hole.

  • @VeryCupboardy not likely, TOR has been great and i expect it to continue to be great.

  • i think its cause he got SWtor

  • @VeryCupboardy That and because STO has nothing new. How can Chris and his crew make a show about a game that has no stories or anything to report on. Btw, I doubt TOR is gonna die any time soon.

  • I've watched every episode and loved watching them. Thanks for making 109 episodes. It's too bad you're stopping now, though, because former STO subscribers like me were just let into the game early for free-to-play.

P.S. I jumped on my VA 50 that I had from before I quit (before Foundry and Featured Episodes came out) and realized that there is very little content to do, and very little reward for doing it. Not to mention that Silver accounts currently have no access to the Foundry.

  • hmm.. just when I thought: ooh F2P ... now I will give it a shot... hmm.. anyways.. still gonna give it a shot...

  • To the people unsubbing, good riddance. No one cares and I don't see the point of announcing that you are unsubbing, just leave. Jeez.

  • I watched this show before, during and after I played STO over the past couple years so its sad it wont be around for a bit. hopefully when the new featured episodes come out so there is actually something to talk about. But yeah. The game isnt as exciting as it used to be, to me.

  • Sad to see STOKED go. I guess SW: TOR really is getting some serious wins over STO.

  • I speak for not only the show but its fan fleet when i say this change is going to be an interesting challenge to face. Not unlike many other fans of STO out there, we have all had to deal with the games "issues". In a positive light for STOked Production and its future we will try to remain hopeful that Cryptic will invest in STO's future. let us know how you feel by posting here and/or emailing us. look for us in game from the Jupiter Force Fleet.

  • I'm unsubbing until it comes back it was last show on channel I watched.

  • Ive been at the point to where I just don't want to play STO it's just too boring. I hate to see the show go but it's understandable.

  • Words cannot explain how sad I am to see the show go. I really hope that once the new episodes come out that the show will return. This really blows. :-(

  • Sucks to see it go, but I totally understand the feeling, I haven't been playing much myself lately. There's just nothing new in the game, but I really hope this show comes back, Good luck Chris in the future. Hope to see stoked again

  • sto the game right now is dead. despite all the new stuff its subscribers have all been stolen by star wars. i think once star wars loses its shine its a very liner game so in a few months people will be bored of it sto will be free and get its players back. i really thought the early access would have gotten more people then it did. maybe when it goes truly free we will see more. but the lack of content is killing this game and if they dont fix it fast the game will fail even free.

  • Well there goes the last show I watched on this channel. RIP STOked, MMOrgue and jupiterbroadcasting.

  • Also, I sorta like the new leveling...kinda. However, it would have been better implemented after more content was added...and I mean a lot more. I thought at once that the game would develop into adding another faction to the game also...I'm happy that the Klingons have more content now. I think pvp could go up, or find a way to make it more beneficial to play. I would like to see some instances where world pvp could happen, in a way like the borg invasions...Starfleet vs. KDF, including cpus.

  • i do hope the dev pay attention about foundry. that can be stos golden egg that will keep giving if more thing are add to the tool.

  • Makes me a little sad to see STOked possibly ending, I loved this show. I'm still going to be playing STO. I still find it a fun game after all this time...though I guess I didn't have a time frame to play it in because I have an lts. I took some breaks, but I still really enjoy the game.

  • The show was good, but let it R.I.P. Let's see a SWotR Show!

  • 109 eps when the show was original for launch hype i say it had a good run.but with f2p and no new content they really don't have anything to make a show out of anymore other then news.

  • The show is dead isnt it? ):

  • ):

  • SECOND!

  • We at RSA know how hard it is to deal with the game, we're sad to see the show go on hiatus :( Best of luck, hope you come back with more episodes, the community will not be the same without them.
