There is a much better app for this, it's called rotation inhibitor under sbsettings. You can lock the rotation to landscape or portrait in two seconds.

Wow dude there is a waaayyyy better app does the same thing but better, it's called "Rotation Inhibitor" which came out like a year ago. With this tweak the rotation "stopper" is built in to SBSettings, so you can turn it on or off quickly before you go in to an application, like mail, or turn it on or off for the iPod Cover flow....

when 3.2 or 4.0 comes out, and there is a jailbreak for that, you can probably be able to use that, but that wont be for at least a month

Get "rotateinhibitor" from cydia, its the same thing but it temporarily disables all landscape mode. when you get it, its found in the SBsettings menu.

Personally I don't get this app... I've used an iPhone since day one, have the 3GS now, and have never had a problem with when the phone rotates. If I'm laying down it's sideways and I type and view that way. If I'm standing or sitting up and it's not sideways I use it that way. No big deal.
