Yeah...I remember that self indulgent rice krispies mum...I always used to wonder why her kids didn't just burst in on her and see what was going on...that little bit of chocolate she put on her nose still faintly disgusts me as it did back then...anyway GASP a whole five channels on BSB!!! i really really wish they would bring secret bars back!!! i have craving for them so bad that i'm having dreams about them then when i wake up i feel like crying coz secret bars are no longer available!!! they should really bring them back along with bird's eye alphabites,chambourcey chocolate mousses and all the other delicious foodstuffs and sweets that were out in the 80's & 90's!!!

Secret bars were nice, I remember thinking I had to eat them in a posh way because they were so delicate (but I always ended up just waffling them down)!

That Plax one's a bit of a mindf*ck, seems like only yesterday it was on!

Pity BSB didn't listen to what most sports fans wanted though: Football kept on the BBC where EVERYONE can enjoy it...

The 90s adverts were brilliant in ideas although not as bright technically as what we see today- more subdued executions, bringing on nostalgia :) The Bold ad would be banned today for sight of a lit cigar- No Smoking is the rule in all ads except govt/charity health campaigns, or historical scenes from before 1960.

Oh my god I loved Secret bars wish they would bring em back. I spent ages loking for em thinking they were cadbury1s not nestle and couldn`t find em. Michael Elphick from Boon advertised Bold ha ha Rice Krispie buns everyone made those as a kid they were soo good.

ill never forget the 1st time i had 1 lol. mum picked me up from school, and brought me a chocolate, i asked her what it was and she said it was a secret, i then spent the rest of the walk home begging her to tell me what it was, but she just kept saying it was a secret lol

Anyone remember an ad from the late 90s I think for Oxy 10 spot cream, where a young lad gets into his car with his mum and she looks in the glovebox and finds a bra in there? I only ask as I remember at the time it was shown, everyone I knew said the lad in it looked exactly like me!

haha wow i remembered the tunes advert! i was only 10 - the "only" thing i remembered from it was the guy falling cuz it used to make me laugh! lol :P

the other adverts i dont remember at all! but then im guessing i didnt pay attention and probably didnt understand them!

wierd that the americans had loads of broadcast and cable channels back then but in the UK there were only 8 at maz and you needed a big ugly dish to get them? I wonder how much Sky subscriptions cost back then.

Back then? They had cable in America back in the early 80's. Mind me nanna lived on a council estate oop north and they had Rediffusion "cable" even in the 70's, just the normal channels except they came in on a cable and you had a big clunky dial on the wall to change channels with.

I actually remember liking Secret bars at the time but my memory is very vague. I suspect they were withdrawn due to production costs - the "shredded wheat" texture can't have made the bar the cheapest one ever to make. Very unique though. The advert makes that filling look like Walnut Whip which it probably was though I remember it being more marshmallow-like.

I seem to recall that Secret bars were recalled because hindsight of them didn't exist yet making them seem better than they were.
