  • "I got a job, but it dont pay" The Clash spitting out the proper truth...After rent and grog im fucked. But happy, in a Kurt Cobain kind of way...

  • its a pretty sad song

  • The Clash WAS Mick Jones. He started it, he picked all the members, he wrote most the music and basically produced the albums and singles (except for Rope). Joe was a brilliant lyricist and frontman, but he was NOT The Clash....Jonesy was, that's the truth. He's far too humble...but it's long past time that credit go to the man who deserves it....and that is Mick Jones.

  • Well put. Mick should easily go down as one of the all time great rockers. He is, as you write, humble. And an excellent post-Clash career indicates he's not one to rest on his proverbial laurels.

  • The Clash barely lasted a few years so a lot of people never got to see them live- even those of us born at the right time.

  • wuz blesses 2 see em wiff mom n dad at wiiliam and mary hary hall on combat rock tour with best drummer bro m8 in 8th grade! god bless joe rip and long live the tunez!!!! SMOKING MENTHOLZ

  • Mick Jones wrote some of their best songs.

  • Mick Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Clash rock, man. 4 dislikes? Really?

  • As a kid, I saw them open for the Who in 1982 Los Angeles. Best show I ever saw. The Clash were great, The Who were legendary.

  • please let this music stand by me. and fuck the new fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' fuckin' music !

  • @JMRDWHO You mean you want band members who can sing AND play a musical instrument in coordination with other people? Those days are over. It's all American Idol, and DJs.

  • rise against, a day to remember, blink 182, this is real punk rock

  • @jaqua524 lulwût?

  • Mick Jones ! <3

  • I grew up listening to this music!

  • DRUGS

  • I remember roller skating to this song lol

  • I remember this video being played on ALTERNATIVE NATION and 120 MINUTES when I was getting into music. I used to tape videos on a vhs tape and watch them over and over. This was one of the songs I always got into and repeated. Same with THE DEAD MILKMEN. Good stuff. Shitty times, but good tunes. That was the late 80's.

  • my fave Clash song ever much as I love Joe Strummer I think Mick Jones was the the major talent in the Band

  • love you Mick Jones!

  • Sm57 is the most underrated vocal mic ever. Over course it's the most over rated mic on everything else but if it works on vocals thats all it needs to do.

  • this was my dads favorite song in 1980. i love it too!

  • "Said you felt trapped" God, i love this shit!

  • THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL SONG EVER WRITTEN!!!

  • @23chopperrob Written, of course, by the greatest rock and roll band ever.

  • NCAA Football 06!!

  • they were the heroes of my youth!

my nephew´s hero is 50 cent.. what else to say . . .

  • @buntefuss what else to say? How's about way to adopt the attitude your own parent's generation was saying about who you idolized. They liked Paul Anka and Frank Sinatra. You didn't listen to them when you liked the Clash-and now you can't stand the idea that 50 Cent is your nephew's hero. History repeating and you've grown close minded.

  • @sweeneysister

i got raised with music from bob marley, bob dylan etc. i don´t think that music that ´bout drug dealing and gang shooting etc is good for an 14 year old. there were times when music had a message. and i am a person who listen to every (!) music. classic, reggae folk.. etc. but i do think that music can influence your behaviour when you growing up and that someone like 50cent who´s only achievment is that he survived gang shooting is a good idol for a kid. thats to say ;)

  • Mick <3

  • this is the real punk ;) ! unfortunately it is dead! i feel so bad to say that!

  • when punk was good. #imiss.

  • @Toastuhh

true story, now we have green day, o joy.

  • @Diogodeamorim I know how you feel man, Joe was dead before i was old enough to love the clash, I'm gutted every time i listen to them that i won't ever get the oppurtunity to see them live

  • What could anyone possibly say bad about the cLaSh ?!

  • Fuck me, that is absolutely froot! *-*

  • Off the chain style kick-assness!

  • what the hell's going on with joe haha

  • I am happy with who I am, I love myself and think Im pretty awesome, BUT if I could be anyone else ever, that person would be Joe Strummer. God rest his soul.

  • I hear ya!! So True!

  • Well... London calleed for Joe. How stupid is this song. Definitely a Desert Island disc song for me.

  • the only band that matters !

  • ROCK'N'ROOOOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!

  • love the drum fill at 1:21

  • ...if i were your sister, i would fuuck the sh@T out of you !..

  • the riff starting at 2:12 should have lasted way longer. I could listen to that jam for 5 minutes.

  • did anyone saw Jim Jarmusch's Mystery Train movie?

  • @ 1:40..."need somewhere to stay". A possible reference to Strummer being a squatter?

  • Great version!

  • Awesome Show!!! @ THE PALLADIUM NYC

  • wow...that was fucking great.

  • the only band that matters......viva la clash

    r.i.p joe strummer

  • I will never had the chance to see them live.

I was born at the wrong time.

    Sad.

  • @Diogodeamorim I did, it was everything you could have imagined! Joe Strummer and Mick Jones came out and challenged us, calling us basically provincial American hicks..the crowd went wild and had an attitude all thru the show, probably just what they intended. They rattled off 14 songs in a stataccoo machine gun fashion and then left the stage with a flourish I'd not seen before

  • @Diogodeamorim But you can keep up their struggle for social justice, anti-war, anti-racist philospphy.

  • @Diogodeamorim My words mate ...

  • @Diogodeamorim i live in chicago and there playing jan 27 in chicago w00t for me :)

  • @Diogodeamorim its a good thing all this was recorded eh?

  • @rjnrf

Yeah, at least i have the DVD.

  • @Diogodeamorim Same here man. All the crap today combined, is nothing compared to The Clash.

  • @Diogodeamorim Don't worry! You can still go see Nickelback, or the Jonas Brothers, Or Pussycat Dolls, or Lady Gaga, or Katy Perry, or Justin Beiber, or Chris Brown, or Nicki Minaj, or Lil Wayne

  • @BigLikeTheSun

What a great idea man, until the music of today is not so bad, thanks for the tips, planning on going to the Nickelback and Jonas tomorrow.

Come with me and lets go enjoy two great shows. LOL

  • 2:55

  • 2 people got ran over by the train

  • EPIC!

  • oh sweet youth.

  • indeed dodgy

  • I hate a 1 person more in this world

  • 1 person has no taste in music at all

  • hey, heres a thing: pause at 0:50, look the picture. Im a green day fan, and i noitced that maybe, their new look were inspirede by clash, so everyones thinking, "oh yeah? serious?" and i know, green day today is shit, and this to me, talking so much of clash into their visual its a liite bit, "wannabe memorable punk band, as clash"

  • The Clash forever...The best punk rock!

  • only be friends with people you TRUST

  • VIVA JOE!

  • One of the few great bands i missed live in the 80's. Excellent stuff here... =)

  • One of the band members looks like they're about to explode... I'll let you figure out which one

  • Amazing. They must all have been able to play all parts and instruments - for Guns of Brixton Paul switches guitars with Joe, here Joe and Mick do it! BEST ROCK BAND IN THE WORLD FOREVER

  • The main reason I fuckin' love this song is because Mick and Joe swinged their roles for this song ... The lead singer became the lead guitar, and Mick is singing !

  • Awesome song, is that Joe strummer singing?

  • @darshia33 Are you serious? No, it's Mick Jones.

  • @darshia33 It's Mick Jones

  • 0 dislikes BOOOOM!!!!!! The Clash ''The only Band that still matter''

  • Mick is singing, that crazy guitar is Joe

  • Is that Mick Jones going crazy on the guitar @ 0:30-0:35?

I wanted to write something about how much the clash has ment to me and punkrock in general, but everything has already been said so Im just going to end with this: "This is my Indian summer...I learnt that fame is an illusion & everything about it is just a joke. I'm far more dangerous now, because I don't care at all. ”

—Joe Strummer to Chris Salewicz – 2000

  • The BEST freaken band in the WORLD !!!!!!

  • Amazing....

  • What a great song and performance. Very cool band.I wish I could have seen them.

  • The Clash... <33

  • I remember being caught writing the lyrics to London Calling on my school desk when I was 16. Saw them three times, and literally, their music--and live shows--changed my life in regard to what words like passion, compassion, justice, and social consciousness meant. I am humbled and privileged to have come of age in the late 70s and to have seen them. RIP Joe. You are dearly missed. Also, check out Carbon/Silicon - nice Mick Jones stuff.

  • The best band EVER! And Joe was so cute: to say that I'm in love with him would be an understatement...

  • I wish I had lived in their prime era to have seen them live.

  • Haha the clash is badass!

  • 0:1 - 0:2 , the best

  • R.I.P. Joe Strummer, i love you
