I'm sure it was probably not meant as such, but I'm still a little sad for that girl. She was probably pretty embarrassed to be snubbed by Nathan that way, and despite what everyone is saying about his enforcing the boundaries of the con protocol, I still think he should probably just have given her a quick hug. His decision made him look like a bit of a douche, and I'm saying this as a fan.

he made it into a joke and either she might get embarresed or he had to do something he felt not comfortable with.
