It depends on who is older than whom. I'm not claiming that the difference in age is a problem in and of itself but that specifically when a woman is older it's unorthodox.

The Susan Sarandon example doesn't disprove my point. Yes, in some odd cases such unions may last. But it's still very unorthodox. Women age much faster than men do. A 40 year old man(depending on how he carries himself) usually looks a good deal younger than a 40 tear old woman. This has to be taken into account when going into a relationship. It's superficial, sad, and cynical--but it's true.

I'm syaing it because, --and I know women will go ballistic on me,-- women get older faster than men do and their age shows better. A 20 year old marrying a 30 year old will soon find himself in the future regretting it. He'll remain young and vibrant even up until his early 40's while his wife will be a 50-ish woman. It's logical.
