  • your a really great singer

  • Beautiful song. I have to admit, it brought me to tears. I grew up loving John Denvers music. His lyrics were always so beautiful....I had a huge crush on him. R.I.P. John!

  • JOHN DENVER WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US!

  • this makes me cry every time! R.I.P. J.D we miss even after 14 yrs that you been gone. We will never let you be forgotten! I love dear John! I wish I could have meet you.

  • His music meant a lot to me growing up...... and still does. I took a motorcycle trip from Ohio and ended up going through Colorado. As soon as I hit Estes Park I put John in the headphones and listened to him up and over the continental divide. Rocky mountain high indeed. I'm gonna do that shit again! Thank you John....and thank you John supporters. Annie got her song...John deserves one as well.

  • Amen!

  • Knowing she was dieing from cancer, My Mom and I sat down and when through hours of music. We make a tape of those songs we selected, about 20 of them, and it played during the whole viewing and funeral. I got permission to use 2 of Dolly Partons's songs ... I will Always Love You, and one about a broken sparrow's wings ... Mom always helped others, ALWAYS. An this trait is with me. And now, I"ve compiled my long list of songs and put them to my life history for my funeral, and that's errie.

  • i was lucky enough to shake this mans hand and he played country roads for me

  • @troylreevesable I envy you! What privilege!

  • I was only 13 years old when John died. I didn't like him or his music back then, but luckily I came to my senses a few years later in high school. I wish he were still alive so I could go to see him in concert. I'd go in a heartbeat. Such a wonderful man who did many great things for the planet, both with his voice and passion for wildlife conservation. He is very missed.

  • Did you guys notice that the video says"His Passing October 12, 2007" he died October 12, 1997.

  • @xEdddie If you read it carefully it states: In Loving Memory Of A Great Man and Loving Soul on the Tenth Anniversary of his passing October 12, 2007. I will certainly never forget that day and year when the world lost one of it's greatest contemporary prophets. I can tell you that I was at our camper in a campgrounds when I saw it on the TV. Later that day after I went home, my sister Irene called and we both cried over the phone. He was loved by my entire family!

  • @Jardinami You did a fantastic job on this post. It's beautiful. As you said, I won't ever forget that day either. I remember thinking, this is awful, I always thought he never received the appreciation he deserved. He was an activist for nature preservation and an amazing guitar player & artist. Many of my friends didn't like his music, but I thought it was really inspirational. Sad about him & Annie, it should've worked. I know through his problems, he still loved her.

  • @Jardinami I was thinking the same thing @xEddie! Country Roads is the family favorite.

  • @pantheriz03 In 2007 I made this video slide in memory of this great man who passed ten years earlier on Oct. 12, 1997, thus the ten year anniversary of his passing. You should hear my four year old granddaughter Maggie sing Country Roads. She has a slight speech impediment and sounds so cute, and knows all the words, as she hears them. I must record her singing it and put it up. Thanks for the comment!

  • @xEdddie I think what she/he meant was that 2007 was the 10th anniversary of his death. I thought the same thing you did until I double checked when he died and it was 1997 so even though it doesn't sound right, I guess I understand but I would have worded it diffferently myself.

  • to bad glen cambell stole your wife,Ill never for give him.......

  • @Franny460 I never heard that before????

  • @Franny460

Glenn cannot compare to the artistic ability of Mr. Denver! Palllease!

  • ONE OF THE BEST COUNTRY SINGER'S EVER & A HELL OF VOICE ......... I LOVE ALL HIS SONG'S I'M GOING TO BE A COUNTRY GIRL ONCE AGAIN , COUNTRY GIRL HERE I COME AGAIN HEE YAW !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT MY COW BOY PLEASE GOD LET HIM SHOW UP WHEN I MOVE :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • **Applause-Applause** Beautiful tribute! His music has always touched me deeply. I can relate personally to so many of his songs about love and about the wilderness. The line: "coming home to a place he's never been before" is one I understand completely. God bless you, John, and thank you.

  • Pretty cool - however his name was NOT Johnny!!! On his birth certificate it is Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr.!!!!!! Family and friends called him "JD"!!!!!

There are other famous people in is family:

Henry John "Dutch" Deutschendorf, Sr: (John Denver's father) One of the first Aif Force pilots in the United States Air force!!!! Still holds several official speed record in a jet!!!

And brother Ron's twin boys - were in the movie Ghostbusters II - they played Oscar to baby!!!!!!

  • @Earthlinked I have posted the reason this song is about a Johnny in the description above. I originally had a Mary Travers song, but had to remove it because of copyright infringement. This song Dear Johnny is about Johnny Cash, and even mentions the man in black in the song, and about his widow greeting him on the other side.

  • @Jardinami June Carter Cash (Johnny Cash's wife) never was a widow- June Carter Cash died (May 15, 2003) making Johnny Cash a widower. Johnny Cash died (September 12, 2003)!!!!!

  • @Earthlinked In the true John Denver spirit of kindness and peace I will refrain from what I am thinking about your last comment. I will just state that the lyrics for the song Dear Johnny are now posted above and they completely explain why the song says Dear Johnny instead of Dear JD or anything else. Peace!

  • @Earthlinked Were you smiling when you saw your bride? Was she waitin' there for you on the other side?

While I sit here on the brink and watch you Fly Away, Fly Away

And is the Man in Black wearin' white today.

  • Every great musician should be honored with a song like this. Let's start a petition to amend The Constitution. And why aren't there national holidays to honor our greatest leaders -- the music men and ladies who changed this world more than any politician ever could? Musicians never steal money like the politicians do; they earned their money the old-fashioned way -- they EARNED it.

  • @redfordforpresident I'd rather just give them a street named in their honor - then when you drive on the street - they are remembered!!!!!

To be remembered in the hearts of those you have left behind - is to never die!!!!

  • My girl friend and I got to see John in the early 70's at a small Portland Oregon theatre venue. For the most part it was just him and his guitar and it was great. This Old Guitar is the song that I can most relate to. I miss you John. Thanks for all the great memories.

  • @Bodie1550 Yes, John has been a blessing to the world!

  • @Jardinami You don't know how right you are!!! John Denver was born with a "Pitch Perfect" voice - he never took a voice lesson - and he was ALWAYS on perfect key - and once even tuned an RCA studio piano using only his voice! This gift cannot be taught - and few are born with it (Elvis, Sinatra)!! You either have it at brith (and you talk, laugh on key) or you don't - and it cannot be developed if you do not have the gift!) All you can do - if you do have it - is put a shine on it!!

  • I dont know why they would care if you used a Mary Travers song - she is dead and most of her stuff (that SHE owned the copywrites on) is probably public domain anyway!!!! And The John Denver Estate owns "Jet Plane" - Denver was no dummy - he NEVER gave his copywrites away - NEVER!!!!

  • i play my guitar: the song rocky mountain high, the same way he plays it, it took me long time,A-Men, but i finally got it! Yahahoo!! That song was very hard, but! it was worth it. Well picture a woman looking like (( JohnDenver)) yah, yah!!!

  • Thank you for this fitting tribute.

  • @ 1:17 is that Steve Martin on Banjo with John?

  • @rwaggs62 Yes, Steve is a great on the banjo, and has an equally great personality.

  • Simply put; beautiful.

  • Great video and lovingly produced. John Denver was just the greatest. LS

  • Reading about the cascade of errors that caused him to crash makes me grind my teeth in frustration. I know it's only sentiment on my part, but, I certainly feel sad that this mans' life ended too soon. He would probably still be writing and singing lovely music for the world if he was alive today.

  • I miss you so much! People come people go but life goes on.Thank you for your music.Your memories will remains.

  • thank you for sharing-greetz rjm

  • Beautifully done Jardinami! Beautiful song/tribute and lovely pictures in this video! You done John Denver a great justice here! I am sure he is real proud looking down at this video and thanking you! I know I would be if a work of this kind was done for me! Too bad it took him to pass on to get more people to admit they really love and appreciated his songs and works! Post more like these, Garden Friend!

  • rest in peace john.you will never be forgotten.great tribute.thank you

  • I can't hold my tears. Rest in peace, dear John. I'm from Grmany and we loved you very much. And we still do!

  • gotta say that was a nice tribute, i listened to some of his songs, one my favs was sunshine on my shoulders

  • So long, thank you for the happy memories.

  • A job well done with this video! All these years later, it still brought me to tears. The world is a lesser place without him.

  • a musician and entertainer... but a very fallible man.

there was more sadness in his life than joy.

  • you did an amazing job on this. Thank you! I know he would have approved!

  • I know about the memoral set ten years after his death i just found a video with the typo on his death but you know it a pluaqe in his memeories, remeber most people won't find out the truth till it's to late !

  • Ok whos the goof that said he died October 12 ,2007 it's wrong he dise in 1997 get your facts right

  • @warp2013 You must look again at the video, the opening statement is: On The Tenth Anniversary of his passing Oct. 12, 2007. It wasn't suggesting the day he passed but the date of the tenth anniversary of his passing. Sou you do know when he died, but didn't realize it was the 10th anniversary on 10/12/2007! I suppose you should heed his advise in the lyrics of his songs and not call people names such as "goof". Peace!

  • @Jardinami good answer, peace from DK

  • beautiful JD tribute, Thank-you! Still hard to believe he's gone almost 13 years.. Love & miss you John!

  • @JOHNDfan1 i know you don't know me but i read some of john's works and listen to his songs you and i know he died Oct 12, 1997 but for those who love him gotten the date of his death wrong in the year help me to make it right thanks

  • @warp2013 The Tenth Anniversary of his passing Oct. 12, 2007. It wasn't suggesting the day he passed but the date of the tenth anniversary of his passing. Sou you do know when he died, but didn't realize it was the 10th anniversary on 10/12/2007! I suppose you should heed his advise in the lyrics of his songs and not call people names such as "goof". • Beautiful tribute! My Mom called me the day he died. It was my birthday and she knew he was an old friend. That day stood still for me, as with millions of other fans. Here's to you John, soaring with that eagle in the sky!

  • wow, this is truly, a beautiful tribute, to one of my biggest heroes, thanx so much for sharing. xoxo

  • I miss him greatly, he left this earth way too soon, now he plays for Angles and he left us all such a beautiful gift, his music and appreciation for the great outdoors! Thank you John, your legacy will live on for all eternity!

  • I have always loved John Denver. I used to sing his songs to my infant son, who is now 34. I now sing to his daughter. She loves John's song "For Baby" and tells her dad he should sing it to her.

  • @soulelee "I'll cling to the warmth of your tiny hand..." Me too, and my girls are now 36, and 30 with six grandchildren to sing to. Most of them could identify who is singing when his songs are played. A whole new generation of fans to carry on his legacy.

  • Dear Johnny

we need you back ....to talk to the leaders of the world today.....your words are heart felt

  • Who is that singing?

  • this is a beautiful tribute...thank you for sharing. i wish the slides had been a little slower so i could have had a little more time to take them in...still love it.

  • camwit, I remember singing his songs in my parents' 1966 Chevy Malibu during an early 70's vacation back to hometown NY from FL...and on the way to shiny new Disneyworld the next vacation...ah, the joys of backseat singing LOL...and then he was one of the contributing forces (along with Cat Stevens) that steered me to a music career (albeit a little more electric than his LOL)...he was, above all, SO genuine...

  • My intro to John Denver was when I was about 7. We used to drive down to FL from NJ. My dad used to play his 8-tracks of his greatest hits...His music grew on me...first by the memories of driving to Disney World as a young kid in the 70's, but now clearly by the beautiful music and incredible talent John Denver was truly one of the greatest singer songwriters ever...Rest Easy John....Eternal thanks for the memories and the music.

  • @camwit I noticed on your channel that you love Don McLean's Vincent. I love it too, and one line in the song reminds me of John Denver. The line is, "This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you."

  • This is so, so, so beautiful! I grew up listening to John Denver Song's, as did so many. Thank you you for sharing this.

    Samantha Barton

  • Very nice. I very rarely listen to anyone posting their home-made audio video on You Tube because most of them are talentless and my ears can't stand it. On the other hand, I very much enjoyed your song. I liked John Denver too. This was a wonderful tribute.

  • I remember in 1982 I was just a teenager from Texas and we would go to Colorado every year to help some of the local churches in the smaller mountain towns with their summer vbs programs. and we where invided to the park in Aspen for a thank you picnic and who showed up but John Denver and he gave us a little concert and started doing sing -alongs with us kids and that is the memory I will always cherrish and that was singing my favorite song with the man himself.....I sure miss him

  • @jajajackie07 You have truly been blessed to have had that opportunity. What a once in a lifetime experience!!! You have seen first hand that this man was genuine! He continues to bless us with his music, movies, and humanitarian influence on this world.

  • this is wonderful very pretty a special tribute to a special man.

  • That was a beautiful job... He must have had his hand on your shoulder as you produced this... A wonderful tribute to our "Rocky Mountain" legend!

  • @johnny50693 Thank you so much for such a nice compliment, and lovely thougt!

  • @johnny50693 Thank you for the nice compliment, and such a lovely thought!

  • for all the people who love the outdoor life, like me,John Denver will be always remembered.

my regards from Argentina and thanks for sharing his music

  • Thanks John, for putting in front of our eyes just what really matters.....peace and love....

  • Thanks.....John was so special, and I don't think he knew just how special he was. But we can carry on his legacy of love, peace and nature. We all have it in us...John sang so we could find it in ourselves. Peace and love!

    Thanks

  • Thank you. He will live forever in the hearts of many. My sister and her husband are vacationing in Mexico right now. They have been there many times, and love Mexico!

  • Beautiful.

  • i love this song who's singing it ? who wrote it ?

  • @freeasabird12907 Angela Easterling wrote and sings it for Johnny Cash.

  • @Jardinami

How do you know that, Jardinami ?????

  • @Annakate111 I have gone to Angela's website. Also in the song she mentions that he is going to his wife on the other side. June Carter Cash passed on first, and Johnny followed.

  • I appreciate the rememberance anyway. He will be missed.

    Thank you for this.

  • I loved the photos but wish the song would have been one of John's, with him singing. Miss the guy, wonder what his music stories would be now.

  • I had two John songs on this video sung by Mary Travers and had to remove them by YouTube orders.

  • I had two John songs on this video sung by Mary Travers and had to remove them by YouTube orders.

  • Thanks. A lovely tribute

  • I've been called John Denver since I was 16. Not that I can sing, but i look very much like him. Total strangers will come up to me and tell me this. I had a blind date, and told my date I looked like John. Our waitress seated us, then told me this. I always smilled, and when asked to sing, I declined. What a huge talent John was, and very much missed.

  • What a beautiful tribute to John on the 12th Anniversary of his death. John, you are missed by your fans all over the world. What a beautiful man, with a voice of an angel. You left us to soon. We love you John, and miss your smile. Fly with the eagles.

  • Still remembered and deeply missed. I bet he's giving the angels a run for their money.

  • thank you so much for this

  • Could someone help me find the Mary Travers version of Dear Johnny. I've looked online and can't find it. Thank you for posting this video and song!

  • My original song was a John Denver song sung by Mary Travers, but I had to remove it because of copyright infringements, and then replaced it with Dear Johnny.

  • Rest in Peace John and Mary, you are surely missed!

  • This is one of the most beautiful tribute songs I have ever heard. Excellent, simply excellent.

  • You fill up my senses... like a night in the forest..

    Still no greater love song..

We miss you John.. Soar high with the eagles..

  • I don't get this copyright infringement crap youtube is pulling. As long as you've paid for the song you're using in a video that you make & you are'nt making money on the video then it shouldn't matter. I use to be able to download videos & copy the audio to an audio cd. But all of a sudden I couldn't make anything but data cd's from the downloaded videos. Now I can't download any videos on youtube at all. Has this happened to anyone else? What copyright is being infringed upon here?

  • Maybe the problem is just your computer. I don't have any problem downloading videos and converting to either DVD video or Audio Cds.

  • sometimes god calls his angles....too soon

thank you for the songs you gave us

    you're forever missed...

  • Beautiful video. There is so many of us who loved him, rejoiced in his marriages and mourned in his death. Long live his memory. HE was the real thing.

  • Nicely put together, great photos.

  • Thanks, I now have a blog on Blog Spot where I feature John's music too. It is under the name Jardinami, and the title of the blog is Welcome To My Morning. I use the farewell Andromeda song as the background music.

  • Beautiful. Can never get enough of JD. In my heart forever.

  • Very nice. I love JD also, It's so great to know a John Denver fan like myself. Cutesue1

  • A great tribute to a great singer, songwriter and above all a great man. well done Jardinami

  • Beautiful music. You did a nice job.

  • Nice video, thanx for putting it together.

  • love this song

  • Very Awesome tribute Thanks for posting.

  • R.I.P JOHN DENVER

  • John Denver, for ever

  • Whis with all my soul I´d met this guy in person! John Denver forever.

  • john is one of the best i've ever known in my life....

  • he was a great singer i loved his song called Annie`s Song

  • i was onli 6 when i heard that song i love it now and im onli 15 lol

  • WOW thx for this lovely video... i think you had spend many time for this video and i like it.... he was a fantastic man whith fantastic music...

I think he had left us too soon but i hope he lives in another world in peacer and sing there too =)

  • Pretty song.

I bet he would've loved it!

    Far Out.

  • Thank You for Your song

  • Lovely voice... you spent a lot of time on this. Thanks... again, LOVELY job on this.

  • lets not be sad we should rejoice is music and sing r.i.p john

  • Thanks for posting this great video.

Thanks for excerting all possible effort to restore

the voice. Angela Eastering is an all-round great performer who can beautifully sing songs and masterly play the guitar and the piano.

  • mary is amazing. too bad this epic era of music has dissapeared. (and too bad music was removed)

  • The plaque has been taken down - too many mistakes!!! Not yet replaced.

    1) It was A Long EZ - NOT The Long Easy.

    2) His name was Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. - his father was Sr - he was Jr - brother Ron's oldest twin is Henry John Deutschendorf, III (called Hank - and the twins played "Oscar" in Ghostbusters II in 1988)

    3) John Denver was a stage name - should NOT be in quotes. (He never changed his name - everything he owned and all business - was under Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr.)

  • Thanks for the update! Everyone loved John. I have only seen positive comments.

  • I like the song. I like the video, too, but I'd like it better if the pictures just changed and did not squish and fold up.

  • Thank You : )

  • Very nice. Thank you.

  • John was a friend of mine and a fellow pilot. He died because of a change the builder of the Long EZ made during constuction. It wasn't his fault, just an accident that should never have happened. I still miss him, he was more than his music.

  • I miss you John!!

  • Very Nice!!

ANY airplane that is NOT made on an assembly line - is classified as "Experimental". Denver's LONG EZ plane was NOT an ultra light - it was a 10 year old "Kit" airplane that was professionally built - and it had a perfect 10 year flying record. Denver had 2,400 hours of pilot experience! It was pilot error - he should NOT have been flying that airplane on that day - and he knew it. It was his first time alone in the Long EZ!

I'll always miss the music that was to be.

  • great loss

  • I guess the song fits your purpose here, but Angela Easterling wrote this song about Johnny Cash. She was both surprised and amused to find out that someone was using it in connection with John Denver.

  • It is a beautiful song, and it has piqued my interest in Angela Easterling.

So this "connection" could work out well for her. You see, I am an old lady. Which means that I not only listen to music..... I buy it.

So if you know her, perhaps you might suggest that in addition to being surprised and amused,

    she should also be grateful.

  • I did have Mary Travers singing one of John's songs, and had to remove it because of copyright issues. Easterling's song was on the copyright free list that YouTube promotes.

  • By the way, I hope you are not an old lady, as I am 57 myself.

  • She has a wonderful voice, and many have asked about her. I have sent them to her website.

  • he died in a plane crash. thats sad

  • This is so beautifuL! I feel the love in this video :) I'd love to share my tribute to John I made, it's on my youtube channel in 4 parts if you'd like to see it! :) PEACE

  • Beautiful tribute to a beautiful man. Thank you.

  • he came to my school when i was in first grade the year he died

  • I would have loved to have met him, to shake his hand and thank him for making this earth a better place.

  • this is so sad

  • Such a wonderful tribute this was and is. He was truly a gentle soul and loved the vistas of God's creation in this corporeal world. Now I feel sure he is enjoying vistas far more grand. In my younger days my hubby, daughter and I often sat around a campfire and listened to our J.D. tapes. Good times made even better by a great artist. Thank you Max for this share and Jardinami for remembering and helping so many others to as well.

    Mattie

  • Thanks for rembering and sharing.

  • Hello Jardinami, I'm sure you know that John Denver was born on this day 64 years ago. After browsing in the library I found two delightful children's books with beautiful illustrations that I'd like to share. They are adapted and illustrated by Christopher Canyon. One is John Denver's Take Me Home Country Roads, and the other one is John Denver's Sunshine On My Shoulders. A third one is John Denver's Ancient Rhymes: A Dolphin

    Lullaby.

  • I have never heard such a quiet stillness in a full concert hall as when John sang "Today" or "This Old Guitar", as if not to miss the sound of his sigh between the words of the song... his wonderful voice so full of life's treasures.

His lyrics, a poet of song, will continue on; in our hearts, our lives, and the music of our souls to passed to our children and grandchildren.

In the world of genealogy, 'you live as long as you are remembered'. Forever John.

  • What a lovely comment, so well written, even poetic. Thank you. You have so hit the nail on the head, John was a treasure, a gift from God to humanity. My daughter Jamiann loves him too and will pass on his legacy to her children. All my grandchildren hear him in my car.

  • My 4 yr old granddaughter likes Leaving On A Jetplane. She asked her momma if he could could back and bring her a diamond ring. Sweet.

  • The first concert I ever went to was John Denver's. I think it was in 1978. I didn't want to go, but my older sister was such a fan, I reluctantly went. It was in San Diego, and we sat in the very last row. Terrible acoustics, he was the size of an ant, but WOW, what a great concert! He commanded the audience the entire time, everybody sang every song, and he made it feel like it was a small venue, not the 15,000 or so packed arena. I consider myself lucky to have seen him live.

  • He will never be forgotten. He was genuinely loving, and approachable. I have been lucky enough to have seen him in large and small venues. I always left his concerts feeling good and ...cozy. I can't think of a better word.

  • The 11th years without John is over, and each of these 11 is one too much. I miss the man who had to gave the world peace, love and harmony. When You're sittin' round a campfire, playin' the guitar and You're plaing only J.D.-songs the whole night, each of Your companions sings with You at least one song and at the end of the night You have been accompanied singing by someone in every single song. There is no other artist who can claim that. Thank You very much, Jadinami :-)

  • Your comment evoked a wonderfully spiritual feeling, a feeling of brotherhood, and joy. Thank You! I checked your channel out, and we have much in common, especially the task of uplifting the family of man. I guess it would be only natural for any John Denver fan.

  • Absolutly wondeful, I grew up listening to his music. he was and still is an insperation to us all.

    we love you John Denever
