@Tony2438 why wouldnt you? if you know how they train for purposes you can tell that they dont train for anything specific nor situation based. its mostly physical work which is the fundamentals to mental toughness. they look for that in all troops and it roots out the weak...duh! i dont see them fast roping, doing dynamic entries or even recon. yes in fact, from looking at the training i can tell they are not elite special forces
@JTFII You right they are not not elite special forces they are doing there basic training and if you carry on watching you will see. In the Army you have to serve 4 years on got to a grade 1 status before you can apply for SAS 6 moths Selection I not sure what the rules are in the navy for the SBS and of coarse they will not show everything

Lewis with the 2nd ID and this is when 1-23 Inf Reg was mechanized we made this Private sleep in the Bradley. the point of yelling at recruits isn't to motivate them. the point is to stress them as possible. decades of psychological research is behind u.s. dod training and doctrine. everything, far beyond just the yelling, is specifically designed to maximize our obedience and willingness to kill when necessary. studies conducted all over the worlds had shown a majority of combat troops freeze up and never shoot, or they intentionally miss their targets.

If you want to have an opinion on any nations Armed Forces, get yourself down the careers office, get your paperwork in and turn up at ITC or wherever and actually learn some of what soldiering is all about.

I'm sure its not easy, other wise there would have been more than six guys to make it through with out getting recycled or quitting. And @1AppleoEden yes, I am a Ranger bro, So I know all about shitty training. The series does show some very rigorous stuff, Its just approached differently by those training the privates.
Most of the people commenting on here have probably never even spent the pitiful 8 weeks that I did in the Army. Being 10th prestige on CoD does not qualify you as a double hard, triple naughty, Special Forces bad arse. If you want to have an opinion on any nations Armed Forces, get yourself down the careers office, get your paperwork in and turn up at ITC or wherever and actually learn some of what soldiering is all about. You can even do it online for the more weight restricted or lazy of you.
Very interesting to see how folks train across the pond. It seems that new soldiers are treated with much more respect and given many more liberties than their American counterparts.

I was in training for The Grenadier Guards at ITC Catterick and my platoon ended up being investigated because people were saying they were getting knocked about! It's not fucking easy. I watched some USMC PT video on here where the uploader was trying to make out it was hard as nails and i'd had to do the exercise in week 3 of training!
@89det People need to realise that the USMC isn't quite what they make it out to be in films like Full Metal Jacket anymore...British Army Infantry training is the hardest of it's kind anywhere in the world. Second only to P Coy, All Arms Commando Course and respective SF courses.
passed my psychometric test yesterday but to start the training seen above i have to gain another 5 - 8 kilos i currently weigh 60kg the only probs i have is i'm naturally slim and i do quite a lot of physical training (running, martial arts, ect...) so i'm going to start eating double what i do now

the point of yelling at recruits isn't to motivate them. the point is to stress them as possible. decades of psychological research is behind u.s. dod training and doctrine. everything, far beyond just the yelling, is specifically designed to maximize our obedience and willingness to kill when necessary. studies conducted all over the worlds had shown a majority of combat troops freeze up and never shoot, or they intentionally miss their targets.

Most of the people commenting on here have probably never even spent the pitiful 8 weeks that I did in the Army. Being 10th prestige on CoD does not qualify you as a double hard, triple naughty, Special Forces bad arse. If you want to have an opinion on any nations Armed Forces, get yourself down the careers office, get your paperwork in and turn up at ITC or wherever and actually learn some of what soldiering is all about. You can even do it online for the more weight restricted or lazy of you.

I was in training for The Grenadier Guards at ITC Catterick and my platoon ended up being investigated because people were saying they were getting knocked about! It's not fucking easy. I watched some USMC PT video on here where the uploader was trying to make out it was hard as nails and i'd had to do the exercise in week 3 of training!
