The movie, .hack//G.U. Trilogy, is a retelling of the whole .hack//G.U. games. If your a fan, definitely worth the watch. If you've never played the G.U. games, its worth the watch.

Bandi is good about dubbing the .hack series. .hack gets very decent voice acting dubs relative to the rest of anime. Check amazon, it should be out.

.hack is an epic series that spans several eras. The stories are very insightful and one of the first analytical and philosophical view of gamers - their perceptions, personalities, motivation, etc. The anime starts with .hack//sign to .hack//dusk to .hack//roots. The anime is not the complete story, nor are the games. All of the games and anime are all part of one whole story put together. .hack is a very thought provoking piece that should be watched with an analytical eye.

you know i just watched it, and i gotta say that i was kinda dissapointed. they got like all the major stuff right but they just slashed it down to nothing. i mean, half the first games non-exsitent, the second doesn't exist except for the end and the thirds the same. then they added in a bunch stuff that didn't even happen at all in the games.... the ending had like a little more foreshadowing to the next series but that was basically the only really good thing.

If you have played, watched, or read any or the rest of the .hack// series then you'll notice that changing things that happened from one series to the next even if they are supposed to be covering the same event, the storyline is changed a lot. For example .hack//Legend of the Twilight besides the beginning it is completely different than the anime. However! The nice thing about this is that the makers always seem to plant more pieces to the big puzzle that is .hack//.

So I got back from Japan one week ago, and I was planning on purchasing the movie over there....but it was sold out literally everywhere and the company producing them hadn't planned on that big of a sale so they don't have any more being produced at the moment and haven't yet announced a re-release day....but from that I'd say there are good chances of an English version being made since it was that popular in japan...

March 2008(at least in Japan). Hope it gets released in English, although its not very likely. :(
