You can create your own missions in the game. So you can create your own free-fly missions as well. :) Use the Mission Editor found in the main menu!

anyone know why my flaming cliffs wont run on Windows 7? ive run it before on xp and vista. I am running a 32 bit and have always run a 32bit and it worked before any help would be appreciated!

Sorry for the late response, but I guess the game is just too old. No idea though. Haven't tested my Lock-On on this Windows 7 yet.

This one is readily available in-game (as are many others for this and all of the planes you can fly.) If I remember correctly, when you are in the Mission Editor you can change the armament/paint scheme etc. after selecting your flight and clicking on a button saying "ARMT" or something of the sort in the lower-right.

Let me ask you, when you made this vid... Did you turn immortality on? I guess it doesnt matter because you didnt hit the ground but with that option on you wouldnt have to RCVR all the time.

When you are at the briefing screen with the map, you select the flight you are in and go to the same place where you choose the weaponry on your plane. There you can swap the paint scheme.

I didn't touch the ground - the game would've registered it and crashed me. :D This is a really good simulator, honestly. I like it since it has more planes to choose from than Falcon 4.0 as well. And I know that pilots don't fly that close to the ground as well. Do you think I am an idiot? I'm planning to study to be an Air Traffic Controller, so it's not like I wouldn't know that.

But do search on Youtube for e.g. "Low Flying Jaguar." You'll see what I meant by my last remark. : )

The game is actually pretty realistic, I have to say. Of course it isn't perfect in all aspects, but a lot of the basics are really nicely reproduced in the game.

Besides, I was doing this for the fun of it, not the realism. : ) By the way - you haven't seen the videos of fighter jets going dangerously low to the ground before?

kinda all over the place but clean refined flying is much more catching to the eye then just balls to the wall no flight plan, great flying but .....

You can't. None of the planes use thrust-vectoring, and if they would, it would be automatic.

Thanks! But about HAWX, I'm not going to get it. I just don't like its style, heard that it takes 4 missiles min. to shoot you down in the hardest difficulty setting, and also heard about the way the game shows you the path you should take to evade missiles etc. I like Tom Clancy games, but it would seem that his name is on HAWX only to get it sold. If I want a semi-simulator, I'll just play Ace Combat. No offence intended, of course. ^^

Yeah HAWX seems very unrealistic and the style is not to its standards. I play Ace Combat as well. Ace Combat seems to be the best in gaming platforms. My opinion.

yea defo! the flight charateristics are all wrong, but over g is pretty good! its set out to do air patrol and stuff likee that in short sorties then longer sorties at the end!

Also, Ace Combat 6 is a pretty good one but suffers from certain aspects of un realism

but definatly Over G is th eemost realistic (Y)
