Of course they dont need it. They charge ridiculous fees. Now they charge a 28.00 DAILY fee for every day your account is negative. That dont include the bounce fee or ATM use fee.
.... the more money they charge people the more they will refund and at the same time more money they will steal ..... I got fired eventually from TCF and I am proud of it ..... I didn't want to be a part of this criminal activity .... it took these corporate shitheads about six months to get rid off me ...... now I am collecting unemployment and enjoying my life ..... nobady should bank with TCF ..... nobody should bank with any bank .... the safest place for your money is your pocket.
I used to work for TCF Bank too, I used to work for Bank of America and Bank of the West as well .... I know exactly how they are all scaming people, .... idiots at TCF could not believe when I was telling them all of this .... they want people to be afraid of them ..... I wasn't ..... TCF is ripping people off selling them accounts by sucking them in with a 50 dollar incentive .... then they blame customers and refund about 50% of the fees making it look like they are so helpfull .......
I read a letter from Mr. Cooper today saying how profits of TCF incerased in the first quater mainly coming from bank fees. TCF's strategy is stealing money from hard working citizens through account fees. They are the same type of criminals like Goldman Sachs, BOA, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and ......... hundreds of other banks, don't believe what this guy is saying, I witnessed myself the bank charging a customer 420 dollars in account fees for just one overdrawn item....SCAM
@marcinbarto I used to be employed by TCF and although I agree that TCF fees can be overbearing, I have banked with USBank, Chase, Wells (which was the WORST), and ENT and people are always going to be pissed. It's always everyone else's fault when they aren't responsible for fees that they inccurred and fees they agreed to when they signed to the account. But $420 for one overdrawn item? lame.. .cmon bud that's like saying someone got charged $420 for doing an atm withdrawal. dumb comment
@marcinbarto Yea I have to a agree with Broncosfan. Kind of lame marcinbarto. $420 for one overdrawn item. Cmon bud. I acutally bank with TCF and while I've had some issues, saying that charging someone that much is dumb and even ASSUMING for the sake of argument that you're right and it happened, it's not like they do that to everyone. I bank with them and I never have. One persons problems are everyone's burdens to be told about. lame example
Not a sleezy bank? Really? Totally Free Checking---If you pay a $ 9.99 a monthly fee. No wonder why you didn't need the TARP money a while back, because you found you'd make more money charging a service fee.
@Athruebelief first off it's $9.95 not $9.99. and secondly, every bank charges fees buddy even USAA. You have to understand that as a company, they have to make money man. You can't just use a service and expect no payment. And secondly there are ways to waive the fee, it's not something that can't be avoided you don't mention that. It's just like buying bread and saying "they're so great yet they charged me $.99 for their bread! bastards!" they need to make money man. Lame comment
@Cleats3128 1st of genius! IT'S NOT.....TOTALLY FREE CHECKING if you need to pay a fee! 2nd off IT'S RUNNING a fine line with false advertising. 3rd IF your going to say anyone who falls for it is a moron, well there are how many people in the world. BANKS ARE HOPEFULLY NOW KNOWN FOR IT'S LACK OF INTELLIGENCE ON HOW IT INVESTS THAT MONEY! IF IT WASN'T TRUE THEN THEY WOULD HAVE TO GIVE AWAY THE MONEY LIKE BEFORE! 0 INTEREST AND ETC>
@Athruebelief Um. Well duh. People seem to think that because a company is a bank that they don't have the right to make money and charge people. Banks need to make money too. Making money doesn't mean its sleezy... You're not a very smart person
Exhibit A: This is a bank that would have been able to grow and replace banks like citi and bank of america if we had just let them fail. Now we are even more in debt and forced to invest in failures instead of successful companies. Way to go Washington.
@xXdalegXx i have to seriously doubt that. TCF is infamous for their fees. I got charged just to check my balance, and it was at a TCF ATM. Before you start praising TCF, go open an account and get your free $50. Watch as it's completely decimated, first by your first order of checks, then by a million other charges and fees.
