I am building a 5VZ-FE Mark 1. I have an E153 LSD tranny, does this bolt up to the 2gr as well? because I would much rather do the four litre swap.

As far as cost... it varies a lot with your access to equipment/machinists/welders/etc. Do a search on car-part.com to find the engine at a junkyard, and see the prices in your area.

MPG: I get around 24-25 mixed, around low 30's pure highway.. mostly top down

Mounts: I used Gouky's mount for the right side on the engine to accept the mk2 mount. I made all three of the other mounts, plus a chasis-side "receiver mount" to accept the mk2 right side mount.

No 0-60 or 1/4 mile yet... one day

Awesome swap dude!! Was there a lot of modifications to this? I've been searching about this swap and nothing much about how to do it, did the stock axles work with the tranmission? And a lot of firewall cutting? I don't want to settle for the 2zz either because v6 just sounds badass. Btw what transmission do you have?

that 2GR has some great induction sound. How long did the swap take? what transmission are you using--the 6spd auto from the Camry SE as well?--or a manual? Really nice build.

Any idea how the CA laws work on this? I know you can for instance go N/A MR2 MKII to Turbo MR2 MKII since it was for the same car. But can you put in the same make, but newer engine and pass smog? This seems like the ultimate setup for these cars, although I wonder how it would affect the balance of the vehicle.

Did any fabrication be required for the motor mounts?
