  • Jack Mercer was better than Billy Costello.

  • Cartoons nowadays are just too violent!

  • the sound those stars make from beginning tapped by the little hammer is really beautiful and dream like to me at 4:59

  • This is... disgusting.

  • So this cartoon basically teaches you that the whole world must spin around you? What a great message! Maybe that's why USA is like that nowadays?

  • Smoking in your cradle is not safe, my mother said ^_^

  • @bigg34691

From what i know, junior isnt the same character as Billy. although..... i must admit they have the same hairstyle.....but in the animation fourms, i have heard nothing that links these two characters together. Billy Boop/Aloysius was scrapped becuse he was a DOG-BOY, and every single one of Betty's animal friends were removed from 1933.

  • @bigg34691

Nope, i have the comic strips, Betty only has one brother called Bubby Boop and a Auntie called tille, unless your speaking of another comic strip.

In the Cartoon, The Baby was originally Bimbo's baby brother "Aloysius" in Minding the baby, but from 1932, his name was changed into Billy Boop, and he was turned into Bettys little brother.

  • I love this cartoon!

  • Best.... Episode..... Ever......

  • Popeye just sunk a fucking boat son!

  • OMG!!! HE KILLED HARPO!!!! HOW COULD HE?!?!?

  • That man is singing a song about something coming to him out of nowhere, and something comes to him from out of nowhere. Popeye's fist.

  • I'm pretty sure too

  • I'm pretty sure Popeye murders people in this episode.

  • @lukelewisDOTnet like how he did it with Harpo Marx and made him ascend to heaven playing the same harp.

  • 3:53-hillarious

  • Wow I guess punching really does solve everything!

  • Popeye: William Costello

    Baby: Mae Questal

    Singer: Gus Wickie

  • 1:56 and thus the beginning of screamo

  • 5:11 so he leves the baby in the middle of a 4 way intersection.

  • Violence and tobacco solves everything!

  • @hairmonster12

Nah, Popeye is just the cure-all for every problem no matter what he does. :P

  • not funny!

  • 4:17-4:22 He killed alot of people. XD

  • 1:57 the birth of heavy metal

  • He sunk a ship, demolished a block and he needed spinach to trash some cars? He really didn't needed any spinach :-j

  • Here there is no Popeye teh sailor but Popeye the hooligan or Popeye the demolitioner cuz this is the most violent of all episodes and he acts very harsh with the other people

  • @siralucard19 That's nothin'; in his first rendition in the strips, he declared he was

"emenies" with a "horsh" then proceeded to punch it.

  • What does he do to the little violins after the cello?

  • @FireCheepCheep he makes a scary face at them and they run.

  • 2:07 Interesting to hear Billy Costello yodel in both his "normal" voice and his Popeye voice.

  • My favorites are the zipper one and the radio fist one The radio fist one remind me of an Famous Studios Popeye one like that!

  • Love this cartoon. Popeye is kinda the bad guy in this one, LOL!

  • i love it

  • Among my favorite Popeye cartoons, by my favorite Popeye animators (Kneitel and Crandall). The scene with the trombone is hysterical, as is the one with the radio singer. Until I saw my first Marx brothers movie, I didn't know who the guy playing the harp was. Thanks for the upload. I'd never before seen this cartoon so clearly.

  • 1:23 Popeye killed the guy! 0_0

  • @Familygirl17 they were depicting harpo marx in that scene. This is one of my top 5 fave cartoon of all the black and white 30's popeye cartoons too!

  • @Familygirl17 the guy is harpo marx!

  • Heheh, Harpo's "appearance" is great.

  • Thanks For The Upload

  • in the ending when popeye zips up the babys mouth, it reminds me of the betty boop cartoon from 1932, minding the baby

where in the end bimbo zips up his baby brothers mouth

  • @Cresantstar The baby also bears some resemblance to the one in "Minding the Baby", but both are very different characters. The baby in this cartoon is reportedly Betty Boop's little brother (some people think it's Swee' Pea). The baby in "Minding the Baby" is (as you probably know) Bimbo's brother.
