@timid188 the only wrong thing are certainties in such complex matters such as an afterlife...everyone has their own interpretation....jesus IS enlightened, and you can learn much from following his ways....but the whole son of god thing is a man made fable, watch anarchy is emergent, in romans (i think chapter 13) it says that god and government are synonymous to one another, so therefore you can't rebel or disobey government without doing so to god!

i find it sad that people don't have faith in themselves...why have such a negative view towards humanity, yes we are bad, but no matter how dark a person can become there is always hope....people need to look within themselves, the art of vipassana meditation can alter your consciousness and enlighten your perception of the world!

@timid188 i believe in occams razor (the simpler choice is the right one) the religious and simple minded would think that the bible is pretty simple and straight forward...but it's not, there's all these interpretations, false claims, contradictions, etc...and even though science can be incredibly complex that doesn't mean it's not simple...the simple choice is believing in solid evidence, it's just complex for us to discover what's already there!

In the wake of entertainment and other things people lose themselves and search for awnsers in the outside world. When they have a problem they tend to ask so called `experts` to help and solve their issue`s. Being a light to yourself points to the fact that you have to rely on your heart not the mind that is conditioned to outside factors. Seeing glimpses of the truth makes your mind more at ease (quiet), step by step. When thoughts are absent, thats the light JK is talking about.

i agree with Kr. what concern that one has to be light to oneself. The presupposition of the world getting dark however, i wouldn`t agree on. That would mean that one time it was bright, which is not true neither...

I think he meant that you shouldnt have to worship these people or try to become any of these people, but you should find your own way of becoming the light that you want to see. Im sure that he agrees whole heartedly with many of Jesus' teachings :)
