I used to really enjoy this game (even though the graphics are somewhat crude). Too bad it is not compatable with Windows XP. Are there any new WW1 air combat sims out there equal in graphics to the WWII sims like Pacific Fighters or IL2 Forgotten Battles?
IT is compatable with XP when you download patchs... just search for them. No flight sim stands a hair to this game just because of it's dynamic campaign. If you know what you're doing you can even make your own portrats for your pilots. hehe

Is it working fine in single player using? Maybe it`s need a non integrated graphic card. Try to ask the dgvoodoo maker by mail, or any RB3D forum. I don`t have any idea :(
Why the hell did nobody in the past 10 years or so at least try to make a well crafted flight sim from WWI ? :-( Stupid excuses are not an option here. They said a few years ago, that the flight sim genre is dying and will never recover. But then Crimson Skies and IL-2 Sturmovik came and revolutionized and revived the whole concept. Since then, sims are quite back in popularity. So why not try to reboost the WWI flight sims as well ? :-)
The RB II was the first version, and the 3D the second. No any different between these, only the graphic handling, if I know correctly. The RB II is updateable to 3D.
off topic, do you ever get a glitch in fly now where you shoot the guy in front of you real close (especially the wing of a bomber) and their plane on getting hit will FLAIL around to the point that any contact with the spinning... thing... will kill you instantly?
Not (yet). I did collision, but I never died instantly, just after my damaged plane hit the earth. One time I died immediatelly, when I trying to attack ground forces and I got a headshot.

Yeah, indeed it is, the Australian MG shooter that died as a poor hobolow. But also, there is the fact that Brown did manage to fire his mg`s at Richtoffens plane. All witness accounts says he was in range. At which time Richtoffen would originally have skinned out of there. He stayed behind Mac`s tail. Thus, my previous statement remains unchanged :)
roy brown was actually said to be on the left side of Manfred von Richtofen and it i said that his head wound helped the death. a fault in the intro is that the baron didnt crash and explode he landed on the ground and souveneir collectors dissasembled his plane.
The airplane moving in intro is not accuracy in deed, but I think the historical accuracy, and the information database in the game is correctly wrought.
The game is old a little bit (very good game according to it`s age), but it`s a classical game and best for the fan (like me) :)
I just bought it but I can't get it to work. The game crashes after the intro.

There is the "richthofen skies" mod for the targetware engine.
Extremely realistic, good graphics and free. (just google for it)
though it has far too few players on the serves. (multiplayer only)

it's been prove that the cause of his dead was because of a shot he received from anti-aircraft fire, that hit him in the torso
