@indiakarl Thanks! Well, Scotland currently does not issue her own passports, as it is not a sovereign nation yet. If we do become independent, hopefully with the Independence Referendum within the next two years, there will be then real Scottish passports. As of now, only British Passports are issued.
Most EU countries grant citizenship to grandchildren of their citizens, including Italy. Any EU citizen can live, work and vote in Scotland as well, no need for a British passport.
@F0F9000 Couldn't have said better. Many people are not even aware of that concentration camps was a brutal invention of the British Empire and that they indeed eliminated a whole race of people. The British Empire was also responsible for the religious oppression, deportation en mass and brutal ethnic cleansing of the French Canadians in Acadia, which back then killed a bigger percentage of Acadians than the percentage of Jews killed in the Holocaust. It was a massacre based on pure bigotry.
Just read about the SNP victory over at Southern Nationalist Network! That is friggen fantastic! Alex Salmond is doing amazing things for Scotland. Can't wait to see how things progress. Congrats to the Scots and yourself!
@Fenianboyo Thank you, sir. Indeed, it was a fantastic victory, and while we expected one, we would have never dreamed of a majority in the Scottish Parliament. It's incredible, I stayed up all night watching it on TV and received calls from nationalist friends who were very happy and emotional to witness this time in history - most of them only dared to dream of their whole lives. It will be interesting to watch, and experience this truly fresh progress in Scottish politics. Many thanks, bud.
This is huge buddy, nice job! Y'all seem like you're old friends, LOL. Alex seems like a real nice guy and down to earth too to me the First Minister, wow awesome! God Bless Scotland and the SNP... †
@CNS2 Hey bud. Oh yeah, without a doubt, yesterday changed Scottish politics forever. It's indeed huge, it's all over the news. The Unionists can no longer ridicule and ignore the SNP, they rule Scotland now, chosen by the people here. Go to Wikipedia and check on Scottish Election 2011, and take a look at the result map. It's nearly all SNP!
Yes, Alex Salmond is a good guy and very charismatic, besides of being a great leader. His opponents didn't stand a chance! Thanks for the support.
May 6th, 2011. I cannot express with words how proud I am to be in Scotland this historical day. And what a day! For the first time in history, the Scottish National Party won the majority of seats in the Scottish Parliament. And Alex Salmond will continue lead Scotland to a bright future.
The people of Scotland have chosen, and they chose the SNP. The political map has been redefined. To be here, vote and be part history in the making, is incredible. Thank you, Scotland.
@LuathFingal Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Despite the hateful and rather childish attitude that can be seen on any pro-Scottish videos by some hate mongering fanatics, Alex Salmond and the SNP are indeed, much to their desperation, which is becoming quite obvious as election day comes closer, leading ALL the polls way ahead of Labour. Although it is true that politics can change overnight, it seems like the SNP is bound to victory on May 5th. Make sure to go out and vote 5 days from now!
@thesonsoferin Why do you not state where you are from? I take it you are one of those YTubers who keeps their identity secret so as to pretend to be from somwhere where you are not from. To be honest I dont really debate with people who are too scared to state where they are from on their page. But a quick answer to your statement would be that there is no great country or person on earth which has not made mistakes at times. It comes part and parcel with being an influencial Country.
@NumberDne I think we had enough trolling by now. Go troll some other video. But just to finish this conversation, people don't have to tell you where they are from, people don't do that every single time they comment. The reality is, you are NOT in Scotland. You live in England. You are not a Scottish resident and therefore, you will NOT be able to vote, therefore, your opinion on Scottish is IRRELEVANT and USELESS. You have no right to vote here on May 5th, or on the referendum. So, good day!
Is funny to see, how when there's any video with anything positive about Scotland, there's literally hundreds of hateful English and Unionists trolling the same, leaving hateful anti-Scottish remarks, demeaning the country and her people, saying how Scotland is good for nothing, how it leeches off England and the rest of the UK... but yet, those same people are vehemently opposed to Scotland leaving the UK through a fair election on which the people of Scotland would decide their fate. Isn't it?
@NumberDne Now, nobody here, or of the SNP is saying that they are better than you. Save us from your complex of inferiority and silly accusations of Anglophobia. Implying that Scottish Independence is a matter of where your mother had intercourse is too pathetic to even be considered.
Ireland's economy was an example for decades. Just because they are going through bad economic problems at the moment doesn't discredit years of success. Every country has its ups and downs, including the UK.
@MSfeller " Every country has its ups and downs "
I don't think you quite understand the severity of Ireland's ecomic situation. Those so called "years of success " were nothing but a FAKE boom. Those so called years of success were not real, and for you to still hold them up as success just tells me all i need to know about your understanding of these things just as Alex salmond has no understanding of these things. Oil has clouded all you seperatist's eyes.
@NumberDne I think you need to wake up, smell the coffee and open an atlas to quickly find out that Scotland is not Ireland. It has nothing to do with Ireland. This isn't a football rivalry match of Rangers against the Celtic. Leave your sectarian line of thinking out of this argument, along with my mother, and I will be forever grateful.
So what you're basically saying is that Scotland, even if the people vote for it, shouldn't become independent, because of Ireland's failure. Very compelling.
@MSfeller What im saying is that if people in Scotland choose to break the union then thats their choice, nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head just as it is the choice for the Northern Irish Welsh and English. But what you seperatists seem to forget just like the IRA, is that the majority of people in Scotland want to keep Unity and vote Unionist parties, just as in Northern Ireland, Wales and England. Nothing to do with the British Establishment, its the British people who want unity.
@NumberDne That's right, it's OUR choice, UP HERE, not yours. You have no rights to vote in Scotland whatsoever, it has nothing to do with you, you live in England and you should be concerned with English affairs. When England holds a referendum for their independence, then YOU can vote. Meanwhile, it's up for US here in Scotland to decide our fate. It's none of your damn business. You will no longer be addressed here, you should go spread your agenda where your opinion is relevant. Not here.
@NumberDne First of all, watch your filthy mouth with your disgusting comments about mother. She's a person you don't even know and you have no right to address her such way. If you wanna act like the English hateful hooligan you truly are, go attend football games where you can behave like the troll you are.
I will address you with respect, and you'll try to do the same, even though that might be against your barbaric arrogant nature. Otherwise, I won't waste my time. Understood?
@MSfeller Queen head of state, yes but she'd no longor hold title queen of great Britain and Northern Ireland. She would become Queen of England, Wales and Northern Ireland, meaning Scotland would no longer be in her title. The chances of benefiting Scotland with situations like Will and Kate meeting in Scotland would become highly unlikely as the royal family would then concentrate on England Wales and Northern Ireland, as they currently concentrate more on UK nations before commonwealth.
@NumberDne Dude, with all due respect, shut the hell up about the wedding of Will and Kate, you're embarrassing yourself. Wasn't it enough being on TV 24 hours a day? The wedding is over, put the cup of tea down already. The Queen would be head of state as she is for Canada, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries who are Commonwealth member. One would think you'd know that, being a royal fanatic. But say, if she wasn't, who gives a flying crap?! Honestly, what difference does it make?
You're a Lucky man buddy! Talk about right place and right time. Great upload and I hope you enjoyed your meeting with our first minister. This man is a modern day hero but many will not know that until he's gone, sadly that's what happens in this day and age.
@1scot4scotland Thank you, I was indeed at the right place at the right time. I get e-mail updates from the SNP though, so I knew he would be in town and was a highly anticipated event. Oh yes, I really enjoyed meeting him, and couldn't agree with you more, a true modern hero and Scottish patriot. Well, we can all make sure he is remembered by going to the polling places this May 5th and get the man re-elected. In no time we'll have a coalition with the Green Party and a possible new referendum!
It's admirable that you've invested the time to take note of Scottish politics. Unfortunately not every scot born here does the same, but if you do you can still tell the grain from the chaff.
@1scot4scotland Thank you. It's unfortunate to see the disdain that sometimes the young have for politics, or the degree of misinformation that I hear from some of the brainwashed unionists here, but that's how politics are. The important thing is that some people here in Scotland are waking up to this new dawn that is the possibility of recovering our sovereignty, that existed since the 9th century and that this so-called Union brings nothing of value, on the contrary, it holds the nation back.
A) The leading force behind the industrial revolution were the people of Scotland, England and Wales. The people, not an Union.
B) Great inventions came from people. The Union is a political and royal union that is abstract, it has no capability of inventing nothing. It isn't a living, breathing thing.
C) The Empire and its colonial and oppressive history, is nothing to brag about.
D) The US leads in sports. Are they part of the UK?
E) Democracy?! You also led the way to slavery, so?
A) Was through Union of our nations which gave us the economic and political clout to lead the Industrial revolution. If we'd stayed divided our attention would'v continued 2 focus on bickering between us. Union brought us peace and a solidarity effect.
B) Our inventions went towards us becoming successful as a nation, thus making our lives better.
C) im bragging about the many good aspects of the empire. Many great countries had empires ours was one of the more humane empires
Please tell me how and why would i have an inferiority complex with you? Could you be saying that because you do think you are better than me? I dont know about you but i class all British people as equalls and as family. This is the difference with you seperatists. You think you are too good for this union, but we rejoice in the great union with our fellow equal Brits. It has made huge contributions to the world in many many ways.
@NumberDne Along those great contributions the Union gave to Scotland, that includes the Highland Clearances, kidnapping and shipping Scots as slaves to America, successfully destroying and forbidding the native Gaelic language through systematic bigoted laws, shoving a bogus Union act down people's throat against public opinion, framing and beheading the Queen of Scots, manipulating votes on the referendum, sending Scots to die in bogus wars for freedom while the same is denied at home, etc.
Great story and video! Thanks for sharing it. I do envy you getting to be there in the Highlands. It's a place I've always wanted to see, but haven't had the chance.
@Fenianboyo Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Appreciate your positive feedback as well. The Highlands is indeed a very interesting and beautiful place that you definitely should visit whenever you have the chance. Let me know if you ever do, you'll be welcome here.
@MSfeller Appreciate the hospitality, my friend. If I ever do make it out that way, I will definitely give you a shout. I've been watching some of your other videos, that is some beautiful country you're in! I may have missed it, but whereabouts are you in Scotland?
@Fenianboyo You're more than welcome, buddy. Oh yeah, it's nice out here. The region where I currently live is known as Caithness, in the far-north of the Scottish Highlands. It's a fertile land of open farmlands and moorlands, very green and flat, but with dramatic coastal scenery. The Flow Country, the largest blanket bog in Europe, is also here in the region. It also has, similar to Orkney and Shetland, a strong Norse heritage.

I know some things of value this union has brought:
It has brought
A) The leading driving force behind the industrial revolution.
B) Many great inventions, possibly the most inventions of any nation on earth.
C) (during the time of empires) it created the greatest empire of all time.
D) We practically gave the world probably 90% of the sports in existance today
E) We led the way in the drive for democracy
