@PointlessBlog Well, if you compare it with more expensive cameras it's... Crap... But, if you compare it with cameras like the flipHD it's actually quite acceptable. Wind noise can be a bit of a problem, the SD60 has a rather nice noise cancelling system, but I've not had the chance to play with one yet.
I found a very great deal on eBay.co.uk, the TM10 version (the one exactly like the SD10 but with a HDD of 8GB) comes at a price of 164 pounds manufacturer refurbished camcorder, the seller sold over 150 cameras and also the TM15 that comes with 16GB is + 5 pounds. So, go check ebay.co.uk and find "digigood" and you can buy the 16 GB Panasonic TM15 for 170pounds + 20pounds europe shipping. I'm NOT spaming, but there is a great deal and I think this camera deserve it! Very good review tho!
@braqoon Very good point, while the SD10 isn't as good as some cameras in low light, it's infinitely better than any camera phone, and significantly better than most p&s cameras in movie mode.
The trick, as with most cameras in low light is to use manual mode, set a custom white balance and force night mode off, even with the SD10 you can achieve some very good footage.
I'll look into recording some low light footage for youtube, finding a willing subject, human or animal is the usual problem.
@TheMomo3 Basically, manual focus. Also, while i haven't tried it, I think it may be possible to use the AF tracker to get a similar effect without worrying about overshoot.
@aktechfreak According to the item properties in final cut the videos are 25fps (1080i 50), bear in mind this is the PAL version, I do believe the NTSC version records at 30fps (1080i 60).
Uncompressed the footage once resized to 720P looks nice a crisp, however, if you watch the footage at it's full size it does look a bit soft, but to be honest, to get much better quality you need to go up a model or 2.
hey man! Nice vid. I got the same camera,do you think it is a good one?
Thnx!

Can you recommend a wide angle lens? Not a fisheye - around 0.6 or 0.7x.

hi, i was wondering if it had a jack so you could plug an external mic into it.
Thanks

Sorry to ask but I didn't make out what you mentioned at the end about the microphone?
i'm considering of buying one of these and audio quality is a big thing for me.

Overall nice review. Thanks, but as for normal day to day user it will be good to see performance in low light condition (eg. room at the evening ).
