@Hashbrownkid1 I've been told it can, I don't have it set up in such a way... I like my bass loud enough to where it can just barely be heard outside the car if windows are up, pretty loud if their down though.. Old ladies roll up their windows :(

@sullivan106 Uh, what? Do you actually know anything about this stuff or are you just saying that because that's what someone told you? Look it up, the higher the OHM the better SQ you get, lower the OHM the louder it gets. Not everyone wants bass so loud you cant hear the music, i prefer both.

Hi Ish260 your amp is rated to 900rms @ 2ohms like you probably already know which would mean yes it would be to powerful at full gain but if you turn the gain down it won't be but anyway why not just run your amp at 4 ohms and it will be matched to the sub 500rms right now you might be getting somewhere around 300rms from your amp which is under powering your sub and it's playability will not be as good! Yes eight ohms is technically a clearer sound but not when it is underrating the sub!

@2469nat there is no way to make the amp 4 ohms, its a mono amp, and my sub has to either be wired at 2 or 8 ohms, i picked 8 and not 2 because i didnt want to have to worry about blowing it at all

I see you have a versa. I got 1 too, and im thinkin about getting 2 10's. But do you need to get a new radio in place of the stock one to wire the subs? Also how do you find out what amp is the right amp for your subs?

@lukeeh93 I'm pretty sure in the versa there isn't another option other than getting another head unit put in (pretty sure). As for matching subs to an amp.. In a nutshell if you get a 4ohm SUB you want the 2ohm RMS rating on the AMP to match the RMS on the sub. And if you get a 2ohm SUB you want the 4ohm RMS rating on the AMP to match the RMS on the sub.

2ohm subs get wired to 4ohms

4ohm subs get wired to 2ohms

not always but for the most part

IE: my 4ohm got wired to 8ohms

@wiiman6969 how far away from the vehicle can you hear it? like driving towards you or something? so basically im assuming you want to be a show off?... 1 10" type r will sound different depending on how you have it set up.. box size, ported or not, how much power you got to it.. but overall, not very far away will you hear this.

@drewbaby20 if you wanna be heard far away, get 2 10s, or a 12 (or two), i wasn't really going for loudness outside of my car (although it does go pretty loud outside) but i wanted to get the best possible sound inside my car, it all depends on if you want people to know whats inside your car

@TheDigitalguyy 1 maybe because the amp isnt stable down to 2 ohms or ..2 when you wire a sub to a lower use a lower impedance, the current drawn from the battery is far greater, and maybe the alternator couldnt cope with that. I do agree though 8 ohms seems a little pointless. 4ohms for the win!! :-)

@TigerSupercatE1 haha, i did it because if i wired it to 2 ohms i'd blow the sub, rating on the sub is 500w RMS @ 4 Ohms, the amp is 900w RMS @ 2 Ohms, I bought the wrong amp because i didnt really know much about the ratings at the time, but it's still loud and sounds good, and i'm happy knowing it could be louder if paired with the right amp.

Yeah you do, its a 4 ohm sub, wired to 8 ohms, just wired it in series instead of parallel
