  • Hey ur so funny, good one tho

  • I think the no music shops thing is a bit of a nonsense... You have to order traktor online so just order music online if you want vinyl etc... Think it is missing the point. I use Traktor with vinyl, its cheaper, more practical and allows more versatility with loops etc.

  • is there any way to switch from digital to vinyl, without pull of the cables? Just to switch a button or something? ...Or have i to buy DJ Audio 10 for this?

  • @Blessed182 select "audio through" on the drop down menu on the deck on screen. it's literally 1 click. no need to ever unplug.

  • Can't you just order your tunes online if you can't get to a shop....

  • exactly! there absolutely NO music shops in Gulfport....there WAS a cd store in the mall but it closed....so....no record stores......thats cause nobody in MS has money to buy records lol!!!

  • how do you take out the sound of the time code ? that lil beeeep!!! i can't take it off my music when i'm mixing!

  • @defton24 that is because your sound is coming straight out your speakers, and not going though your software

  • can you have this plugged into the audio 8 (using the computer and everything) and use a vynil record (Best of Skratchy Seal) on one side and use traktor vynil on the other if I set the mixer to line on the Traktor side and phono on another?

  • can I setup this programme on windows 7???

I want to scratch and I don't know if I am going to have delay on my sound

  • Do you still have to use the pitch on the table to match up the songs for mixing?!

  • whats the difference between traktor pro and traktor scratch pro??

  • @taraksias123 traktor scratch has a dvs drive which uses control vinyl (or CDs) to control the music, just traktor is for MIDI controllers or just your laptop. ie Turntables- TRAKTOR SCRATCH, Numark Mixdeck-TRAKTOR

  • I had a problem on the traktor scracth with Korg Zero 4, if you can give a solution?

  • I have seen djs to use 3 decks on their pc but they only have 2 tracktors

    how can they do that??

  • @taraksias123 traktor pro can provide 4 decks total.

  • can you still use deck C & D if you have a four channel mixer but not the other 2 tables?

  • @musicjunky91 to do that, you need an Audio 8 DJ and Traktor scratch pro. Audio 8 DJ because it has 4 channels, and Traktor scratch pro, coz that is the only software (from Native instruments) with A B C and D decks ;)

  • im so glad that your channel is up again :D

  • LOL....

  • awesome !!!

  • Nice video mate, big help

  • i know what it is like to suffer with dlyxia and dispraxia and i found traktor to be the best

  • @freestylefilmsinc why do they make the name for the medical condition where its hard to read dificult words so hard to read even i have problems reading the word dyslexia and i dont got it

  • @reesk92 because its more than that

  • @freestylefilmsinc i know that but it is a small part of it its like condition that means people are scared of long words is hipopotimus something somethins somethisn its a really hard word to read and its super long which is kinda dumb

  • is it basically serato scratch live but a lot more advanced program wise? it looks a bit more advanced...

  • what have you done to that poor DJM800 it looks like a moron has thrown up on it

  • @mrdjfreshk I believe so dude. I know Virtual Dj advises u 2 use Serato Scratch live timecodes but I'm not sure about Traktor. I don't think u can use the interface from each of them so...u better choose Traktor vs Serato vs Virtual dj etc

  • Hi, DJ KC here again, can virtual dj time code cd or vinyl or even scratch live time codes work with traktor scratch pro? or do u have to get the traktor time code for it to work properly?

  • Hi, i am DJ KC from Jamaica and for traktor scratch software i think the engineers of this software should let both deck music waves run parallel to each like how it does on virtual dj or scratch live. this will assist dj's like myself

  • I thank GOD for Traktor Scratch Pro everyday...

    Gear: TSP, Audio8, MacBook Pro, SL1200 MK5.

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME? I've just installed Traktor Scratch Pro on a second computer all of my faders are disabled. I've gone to the forums and read all of the help files but nothing.

  • im getting a reloop digital jokey 2 soon

lucky for me i live in germany so i can just like almost walk to an elevator shop :D

  • how do u select tracks iam new to this

  • Djs that can't get to shoppes : shut in djs need wheels on wheels...

  • I just got Traktor Scratch Pro, have been using the Numark Stealth Control for a few months, this is VERY different! Good! But different!

  • that mixer looks cool.

    which one is that?

  • Gotta say buddy! You're saving me LOADS of trouble. Thanks a bunch mate.

  • I'm getting it! Do I have to have a mac? Can I use the new i3 processor pc?

  • lol... im dislexic 2 dude... keep up the good posts man :)

ive ran into your vids before, i made a tutorial vid im going to post soon :P

  • Very entertaining and a good explanation.

And of course very funny :-)

  • can one use 4 coded vynils/cds at the same time?? or at least 3? i saw a guy using 3, but dont know how woudl that b set up... any help?? cheers! =)

  • yes you can have up to 4. Traktor comes with 4 virtual so you can simply add the other 2 timecoded vinyl to make 4 or 3 if you like.

I have a question for someone, I have traktor pro installed but not traktor 'Scratch' pro. will this still work with timecoded vinyl ? thanks

  • thx 4 th einfo, so to have lets say 4 turntable,s i need to use all 4 inputs&outputs right? and nope, taktor scratch is different than traktor pro. i actually have the 2 programs installed and with a setup file saved so there wont be too much conflict

  • whast the name of the song he first plays?

  • That is one sexy mixer!

Should have done this ages ago, but subscribed.. excellent videos man.

  • please, i need help. I had traktor 3 before, and there is a option in your browser "add to playlist". I recently upgraded to traktor scratch pro, but cant find the current playlist nor the option "add to playlist". Help please!!! i'm running already 3 days with playlist that i cant adjust!

  • DOes anyone knows if you need any specific turntable, because i have a couple numark tt usb and I really don´t know if it fit with this

  • Seriously. Your great. You hardly know anything about this and your dislexic. Yet you still managed to make a tutorial. 5/5

  • Its All about the music not mixing music ;)

  • keep on i watching all your videous and maybe in the future i'm gona be the best DJ,thx

  • you my friend, are high lmao

  • hi there, i'm using traktor scratch pro, and i'm having trouble with the settings... i personalize my settings then import them..then when i close traktor and open it again it goes back to its original state, i try to use the import so i can use my personalize settings but it won't do it, it says error while parsing settings on import, what should i do?please, please, please help..thanks

  • and why are u replying this to me?

  • the title means he is a first time user of TSP. idiot.

  • read the description you douche bag

  • yo in using traktor last 5 year from final scratch to traktor scratch and all i can say its great

  • :)))) duuude coool channel keep postig i`m learning a lot 4rom u ;)

  • I love TSP! I have owned it for about a year (since before the update to "Pro", it was just Traktor Scratch.) I am Old school and only did vinyl but this system is great.

  • what kind of mixer is that and i wan to know what is the best mixer with the best features?

  • That Pioneer Djm 800. And for what u need mixer with best features? Every one brand is different. If u just starting with Djing pioneer djm-400 should be enough for u. I dont think u personally can get maximum from mixers like Ecler Evo-5 or Korg Zero8 ;o)

  • You can also use VDJ, yes?

  • no, u need traktor

  • Hi i was wondering if your BPM counter skips around a bit. My traktor scratch pro for some reason when i use timecoded vinyl makes the bpm jump around by tiny increments.

  • I have a question concerning my reloop rmp-2 and my timecode traktor scratch pro version.

I've installed everything and everything works fine, except the cue. Whenever I press the cue button the song just pauses but doesn't go back to my first beat.

The same with the jogwheel. whenever I turn it when not being in scratch mode the song just starts and I don't get the stuttering noise to find the first beat..

Can you help me with this please ??

    Thanks in advance

  • tomhoneybourne: I don't think tkr is better. It's about personal preference on understanding the visual output on the screen. Personally I like VirtualDJ, but my mixer came with Tkr LE with a preset MIDI map. I didn't really like Serato visually either. None of the above software crashed, so stability is not an issue. I have now got used to Traktor so I guess if a used Serato for a few hours I'd get used to it too. The important bit for me was the soundcard and USB 2.0 is a must IMHO.

  • im a plain old vinyl dj, n i dont have a clue about any of this stuff, but really keen to get into it, but i need a little help, ive got traktor 3, and ive got a behringer ddm4000 which apparently works perfect with traktor 3, what i need 2 kno is wot to get next, what kind of midi interface do i get and can i mix regular vinyl with an mp3 of my computer???

  • I think you need to get some timecoded vinyl (this is no music but a code on a piece of vinyl) and some ind of midi interface like the Native Instruments Audio 4 DJ or Audio 8 DJ

  • djallwood99: you don't need anything for the DDM4000 unless you want to access Traktor's software i.e FX and Loops. What you need is to upgrade from T3 to either Traktor Scratch Duo or Pro. The difference is duo is 2 decks and pro can have 4. When upgrading you will need the version that has DVS encoding and a Audio4 or Audio8 soundcard. Timecode CD's or Vinyl comes with the package. The Manual is pretty easy to follow and you should be spinning Mp3 and be able to still play your old vinyl too

  • as far as what?? yess the audio 8 provides better sound quality but the way serato is especially with the ttm 57 sl.... awesome! such a simple perfect setup especially for mobile dj's

  • They both do the same thing amigo, tbh its all about personal preference. Traktor is alot easier to use in my experience and its a tad harder to setup, but they still have the recommended hardware to go by.

Ive used traktor on alot of different setups and its ran fine on every single one.

Get yourself a korg micro for effects a DJM800/700 and your choice of decks and your set, but try before you buy, you might like traktor more or vice versa.

  • ummm not exactly yea in essence they do the same thing. depends what kind of music your spinning. if your mixing house music or trance or idk. somewhere in that field traktor is the way to go for the reason of ALL the built in effects. im currently using traktor scratch pro and tried out serato.... i really like serato much more.

  • Why did you buy traktor over serato???

  • can anybody help me out.......i have the same program and connected all the wires right but only my mixer works and not the turntables..the turntables are new technics 1200 mk5's....any help

  • You´ve to calibrate the software with your decks. Click on the vinyl picture in Deck A and B. then you´ll see a button on the right which is called rst (reset). Start your turntables and click reset. After that it should work

  • i have traktor scratch duo ....is there any way u can take a picture or anything bro cause i can't find that reset button anywhere

  • I´ve got pro, but it´s the same handling. If you don´t see the vinyl picture (between pitcher and wave form) than klick under A and B and change to vinyl mode or in the settings under deck details (activate: scratch panels). Just a hint; deactivate your wlan because drop outs could occured if not. Please don´t ask me why =)

  • thx 4 ya help mayn........i'm not used to using softwares nd shit lol

  • el mejor de todos los djs tutors del mundo

the best world dj tutor thx for the videos

    bye

  • small suggestion: enable constant pitch monitoring so you can see when they are in sync.

  • Honestly honestly.... honestly bro if your gunna pc DJ use Virtual DJ (virtual vynil) or serato.. Traktor is shit

  • i def agree with this guy...i used it for a while now and it is hella nice...

  • I used Virtual Dj long time - no software will be compared to live devices! ((

  • Have you tired it with pioneer djs yet mate?

  • not yet.

     j

  • mp3 is easyest of all but if it sounds best i dont know

  • ur mixer is a beast, did u buy it like that or paint/put stickers on it?

  • traktor is pretty much like using vinyl when you use it with turntables

  • Comment removed

  • pretty cool. i think ill look into it!!

  • Oi!!!!.

    Tell me!!!!

In 20 years time, how are these kids gonna sell there mp3s?

    HAHAHAH IDIOTS !!!!

I have loads of vinyl. Im buying and selling stuff.

In 20 years time I will still me selling and buying vinyl.

Tell me, in 20 years time, are people gonna be selling abd buying mp3s?

    HAHAHAH, I think not.

    Vinyl for life.

  • Eh? You say vinyl for life then you talk about selling it!

Regarding your comment about selling MP3s - in my opinion any DJ who's really serious about it would never sell any of their music, no matter what the format - so it doesn't matter how the music is recorded - a true DJ would never sell their collection.

  • Buying and selling it :) Through Discogs.

I was a DJ (HOUSE MUSIC), but I buy and sell.

So im not a "true" DJ then?

But Mp3s that people might bye now.

How would they go about selling them in, say, 10 - 20 years. Sorry for being off topic, I know some peeps might wanna put vinyl or maxi cds onto Laptop or PC to use with Traktor.

  • "buy"*

  • couldent agree more

  • I've been mixing on Traktor and Virtual DJ for about 8 months now (I'm 19), and I've just got myself some vinyl.... I don't care what anyone says, there is nothing more impressive than watching a dude scratch vinyl to shit!

  • Ohh yeah, Im a big fan of Q Bert and him from Beastie Boys, Mix Master Mike. Scratchin is summit I could never master.

@ 19 I learned to DJ using vinyl and decks. Its what im used too.

Good luck with Traktor and V DJ.

  • Sorry, im from the House music sector.

    I beatmatch underground house music.

  • Well done,so do 10000000 other dj's around the world.

  • Yes.

  • they can't afford to buy vinyl cos theres no shops ? lol so what you're saying is, in order to afford vinyl you need a shop? like trading a shop for some vinyl? lol are you on acid !? ;P jk

  • Too much hate between Vinyl Junkies & Digital DJ's these days! Let's increase the peace around here, yeah?!

Think about this--digital DJ's have just as hard a time finding that "Floor-banging" track online as it was for vinyl junkies to find that one record in stores.

  • "i know this much and you know this much" yep he is an honest guy unlike some other people! J you are awesome! dude! Oh Back in black now thats a tune!

  • Comment removed

  • lol ur just turning your decks into midi controllers basically

  • luv it, but wat happens if u scratch the vinyl, jus buy another 1?

  • Rane Serato Scratch is good peace of hardware, but way too expensive.

  • what are torrent for? download the damn thing.

  • I'm talking about HARDWARE, not software as in Traktor Scratch Pro.

  • You are true. DJing i s way too expensive if not for a career.

  • haha that mixers minted =P cheers 4 that lol any1 know the differences between the settings? relative etc. iv used traktor but nt rly messed around wiv it properly

  • ill do some tutorials and experience videos tomorrow for all, cheers

  • J make a video about

    serato vs tracktor scratch

im really deciding between the 2 right not

  • Serato scratch live all he way!

  • like i mentiond earlyer, really depends on your budget than anything else, they both do the same exact things and the only variation is the skins you see on your laptop. if you want to follow the crowd and go with what most clubs and djs use, you should get serato if not then going with tracktor is not a abd choice either

  • depends on the type of music and where you are in the world. More hip-hop djs in US use serato, but techno & house DJ's in europe prefer traktor e.g. Hawtin, Carl Cox, Leibing, Magda, fanciuli. though Ean Golden (the leading controllerism artist) and crew in San Francisco use traktor as does Grandmaster Flash.

  • put the record on the needle lol but any whooo you should try checkin out serato scratch live, its almost the same software but like in turntables technics are the most comons, cd players... pioneers, and well softwares... serato scratch live comes on top. a bit more expensive but more reliable you may say.

  • I know serato is more popular; but, how do you figure it's better and more reliable?

  • come back to me when uve tried serato

  • Thanks Jonathan for uploading this video, you were extremely fast and you got the stuff very quickly;) just now I had opportunity to try out traktor scratch today, probably I will buy it very shortly.

  • this software is genius, i love it :)

  • aw man i was about to put up my sheep video lol

  • What sold me on it, is the old school cat dj are using it. DJ Craze for example, he use to be spokes man for Stanton, and now go check the native instruments commerical, their newest one has Craze in it. Yep, it is that good.

  • How big is your place man? every video its some new room decked out for parties. :)

  • I was in a field out there where there is no record shops. That place is called Alaska. :) yep, that is why I am a PC DJ.

  • Like that kind of humor of ellaskins ;)

  • Is there any chance of a video on Traktor using timecoded cds and CDJs ?

  • sure , all in good time. j

  • serato or traktor?

  • torq LOL

  • really depends on your budget, its like asking cd player: denoons or pioneer, personally went withthe serato SL3 but im gettin a bit more interested on the new itch software colab-ing with numark to make the ns7

  • nahhhhh..... the effects are wack!

    Traktor all the way!

  • both great products, all about preference.

  • i gona buy me a traktor scratch duo!!!!!!

its cheaper and good sound quality!!!

  • did so too, hopefully the paket will come soon

  • Is Traktor pretty resource intensive on the pc?

    DJ Maverick

  • Most software based programs are much of a muchness, it is not unusual for the PC's fans to start kicking in whilst the software is being used.

They are fine in general, don't use an arful lot of load memory.

  • Get a mac!

  • BTW, liking that mixer skin you have there Jonathan. It's quite unique! Do you know if they make skins for mixer models other than Pioneer?

  • it's easier to mix on this crap than on cdj

u got everything on the screen u dont use ur ears but ur eyes

  • If you mix by eyes alone, you're deceiving yourself. ALWAYS trust your ears and not eyes when it comes to mixing.

  • Yup. I sometime use traktor, and if anything you'll benefit more if you treat it like the laptop's not even there, best to use the ears.

  • Well said.... I use traktor though... sometimes it is nice to be able to see a breakdown coming though. esp if you want to cue an effect in time

  • In Virtual DJ the wavefor is longer and you can zoom out out to see much of the track to see what's coming.

However, Traktor is aimed at pro DJ's who rely on their ears and dont cheat with the wavefoorm. You need to know the structure of your tack by counting the phrases if you do that you know exactly where the break is.

  • Just because you look at the waveform every now and again... doesn't mean your cheating... the whole thing with digital djs moaning at each other for which method is cheating more... end of the day... its the end result out of the master output that really matters!

  • and it is easyer to mix on cdjs than vinyl so you might as well be p there withe pc djs wouldnt you think?

  • It's not what easier, its what your used to!

  • A DJ who do's not use his ear's is not a DJ, just because the wave forms look in time don't mean it's sounding good.

  • very true, there's that added latency that's enough to get out of phase, usually by half a beat

  • half a beat at 120bpm is roughly 250ms

what kind of setup has that latency?!

  • that latency is of of the type when people graphically try syncing the tracks, not of the latency asociated with sound cards. graphically the tunes may look in sync but the tracks are slightly of by half a beat, perhaps due to the processing going on converting the sound into a graphic and back again and with converting mp3 into normal audio. Another theory is that it is syncing certain frequency amplitudes wrongly.
