Umm, last time I checked, R&B music was more mainstream in the 90s, so technically the hit song "Have You Ever?" that reached #1 on the Hot 100, was also a "POP" song. "Pop" is basically short for "popular" and that isn't limited to just one genre of music. Any music can be pop as long as it has crossover appeal. And this was an R&B/Pop/Hip Hop album.

"Pop" is basically short for "popular" and that isn't limited to just one genre of music. Any music can be pop as long as it has crossover appeal. And this was an R&B/Pop/Hip Hop album.

@afrikan08 Okay, but this was just one song out of like, 17 tracks! To date this song was one of Brandy's most successful singles this past decade...So a lot of people liked it...as far as the auto tune thing, it's not like she used it to compensate for a lack of vocals. Mariah Carey has used auto tune, Mary J Blige has used auto tune, hell even Mary Mary uses it too! But anyways, I'm not trying to change how you think. Just trying to offer up a differen point of view on this subject.

Anyways u can tell by the decline of Brandy's album sells in the 2000's that she wasn't what she was in the 90's(and her fans sensed that). and don't bring up crap like "as an artist experiences change in their life their music changes along with it".
