There is only about 500k ppl that knows about this game and not all of them will be able to buy the game. Therefore we will not be that many players at the start so we can be rulers ower the people that is not as strong i myself got 3 friends thats gonna play this too therefore we can kill ppl without getting owned all the time.
It doesn't necessarily have to kill WoW. I think that Blizzard is doing a great job of that by making the same repetitive crap grind with each expansion. With each new innovative MMO, WoW dies a bit more inside.
Anyhow, that's not the point. This is a PvP oriented game with freedom to choose any skill, build anywhere, kill anybody and fully loot them. It's a niche that doesn't really support the full scope of MMO gamers (like WoW), but I trust a significant portion will enjoy it.

The point is that it isnt. In this you are free, s it never gets boring, find your own objectives. YOu can decide to open a workshop and be a crafter. Or decide eto form a guild, then build a city. And after attack other guilds. Possibilities are endless.

Darkfall is due to release this year. Note that it is only 6 months left. Also saying that it won't be any good because it is a 7 year long project has nothing to do with its possible success. Warcraft 3 and Team Fortress 2 were both in developement for around 8 years. Warcraft 3 was even vaporware for a good half year before they finally managed to release it. It is far from an outdated vaporware joke, the graphics are also way better than any MMO game from 2002.

Largest game world ever created, full of content. Most features of any game ever. Sieges, seabattles, total freedom, full PvP, NO instances. Darkfall will be a MMORPG revolution.

Shows how much you know. I played Vanguard from beta until about 3 months after release. The first week, I ran into about 4 bugs. After the first week, I ran into 1 bug. Two weeks into retail, I never saw another bug again. I love how people just keep pushing around "bugged out the ass" comments, when in reality what few bugs it had were fixed quickly. And it had plenty of character, it just wasn't an easy mode game like WoW or AoC is going to be.
Look at this game like the "indiegame" of the MMORPG industry. Its not a blockbuster title like WOW that tries to please everyone. This game will corner a nichemarket that has been waiting for a playable game for ages. The FFA PVP Sandbox game crowd.

Lol wtf? The devs who made Razorwax left and relocated to Greece in 2003 starting the company Aventurine. In early 2004 (I think) they started full production on their game. Razorwax isn't developing this game anymore, Aventurine is. And as far as we know, Aventurine isn't bankrupt. So who cares if Razorwax is.

Funniest hate thread i seen on MMORPG(dot)com so far is a Darkfall hater claiming the street where Aventurine works was a fake one. Yes its true, he claimed it didnt exist. These people actually go through online webcams of areas and search the net 24/7 for some evidence all is a big scam. So he claims the street didnt exist. What the guy didnt know was that the Greek name of street wasnt the same as the english one. A greek guy found the address in 30 seconds.

Bankrupcy and illegal sharehold activities is madeup speculations. And remember Razorwax isnt Developing Darkfall anymore, its Aventurine. Razorwax and Aventurine merged late 2002. The point is that it isnt. In this you are free, s it never gets boring, find your own objectives. YOu can decide to open a workshop and be a crafter. Or decide eto form a guild, then build a city. And after attack other guilds. Possibilities are endless.

Darkfall is due to release this year. Note that it is only 6 months left. Also saying that it won't be any good because it is a 7 year long project has nothing to do with its possible success. Warcraft 3 and Team Fortress 2 were both in developement for around 8 years. Warcraft 3 was even vaporware for a good half year before they finally managed to release it. It is far from an outdated vaporware joke, the graphics are also way better than any MMO game from 2002.

Graphics of today is top of the class. Check out the latest graphics, its a video of them a bit below this one, very nice. Release is this year, its a official company statement and they wont survive one more let down so release will be 2008. Darkfall is a way more complex game then WoW, AoC and Warhammer. Largest game world ever created, full of content. Most features of any game ever. Sieges, seabattles, total freedom, full PvP, NO instances. Darkfall will be a MMORPG revolution.

They have written a whole history for the world of Agon, where Darkfall takes place. Their world will be abslutely huge and the gameplay is absolutely unique in many ways. There's literally endless possibilities. Seems to be a game well worth waiting a long time for.

Anyone who has taken a good look at both DF and AoC will know that AoC is no threat to Darkfall whatsoever. DF is a MAJOR threat to AoC.
Alot of people surmise that the only game that could compete in the same ballpark as Darkfall is if Bethesda decided to make a Elder Scrolls MMO. Which currently Bethesda has no intention to, and they've stated they won't begin work on another Elder Scrolls until they have Fallout 3 finished.

I cannot answer that question. However, by the looks of it, it will most probably not be free.The game quality and effort put into it is just to great for no substancial financial income.
But the game is still far from commercial release. It is currently in closed beta stage and hopefully in a short period of time(it has been delayed for quite some time) it will enter open beta. Preliminary registrations have been accepted for guilds, but not anymore. Individual registration soon to come...

Listen, I want this game to be good. I want it to be the next big PVP game. It's obviously aiming to be something different than the 20 EQ/WoW clones that's on the market and are under development right now. However, they really have a lot to prove. This video doesn't change anything.
Show us combat, show us maps of the world, show us skills - anything that's meaningful! Wow-alpha (1 1/2 yrs before rls) was actually a pretty damn good game. These guys have a long way to go.

If it isn't vaporware, which I hope, then this game will be better than other mmorpgs, because:
1) It will be one of little ANTI-carebear games with full loot and everything.
2) It will have similiar gameplay to uo, including such great features as housing and sailing. And UO is the best mmorpg so far.
3) It will have a realistic and natural feel to it, similiar to Morrowind athmosphere. And Morrowind had a great atmosphere.
4) It won't have shiny shit.
5) It won't require uber pc to run.

Shows how much you know. I played Vanguard from beta until about 3 months after release. The first week, I ran into about 4 bugs. After the first week, I ran into 1 bug. Two weeks into retail, I never saw another bug again. I love how people just keep pushing around "bugged out the ass" comments, when in reality what few bugs it had were fixed quickly. And it had plenty of character, it just wasn't an easy mode game like WoW or AoC is going to be.

If you had any interest in this game except trolling youd know they rewamped the game totally mid 2003. New graphic engine for example. So its more like theyre on their 5th year. WoW took 6 years to complete and remember that Darkfall is alot bigger and a way more complex game then WoW. Just imagine they made the entire world by hand for maximum variety. Why would they only create a few areas like this to "scam" people for money, when it has a HUGE following and is guaranteed to make a buttload of money from subscription fees. Why? because it's vaporware, but they use the excuse the warcry guys arent back yet. Hm? For those who think it's vaporware, Aventurine S.A. was given money by some EU/Greecian fund to aid in the development in the game. They now legally have to finish it.
