Wow, i got the dragon to leave without killing him and now ill never get the xp i guess... i was following your strategy, but noticed that when i hit him instead of breathing fire he tried to step on me, so i thought melee i could fight with melee, i blocked the first stomp undamaged and than he turned around so i made a run for the doorway and got passed, then the dragon just flew away... no idea what to do now, is there any point of getting through there? any hidden item im missing?

@solame10101 yes, but each time he flies up you have to again go thru the process of baiting him down without a bow which will take Forever to finally kill him, and by waiting so long for the dragon to come back down the dragon will heal, so thats impossible. so no, there is no way unless you use the bow. either that, or u sit there and literally fight it melee and dodge his swipes and fire without running down the stairs to restart the battle.
Hellkite dragon actually isnt that hard if you get him into melee range when he breathes fire either roll behind him or if he flies go into the corner just past the stairs but until those two atacks happen just always stay to the left of his head and youre fine.
All I know is, before I even thought about trying to kill him, I was playing through Undead Burg, heard a roar, realized a few moments later that I had about 10,000 more souls than I should, and hustled back to the bonfire to cash them in. When I went back to where the dragon was, he was no longer there.
Thanks for this video. I was able to kill this beast with your technique. It took about 10 minutes. The other way which other people have on their videos is shooting about 300 arrows. I shoot 400 arrows and the beast was still living.
....better yet.... strip to you skivvys.... shoot him.... run like hell under him to the bon fire under him. Then he will fly away and leave you alone.
@WarGolem2011 the best way is to sit in the area to the left of the stairs and wait for it to hop down on its own, then run past. If you're pro, you can get the drake sword at this time by 2handing and raping its tail. The dragon can and will come back though... often at the worst times... He came back to my bridge like 5 times one play through.
I'm level 49 and I still can't beat him D: Either that means I'm a noob, or I just fail.... Every time I go to hit his head he swings his tail and/or jumps up and does the fire breath

Try to emphasis that you MUST hit the head or he will do a flame breath. I've died about three times now trying to figure out why he kep doing flame breaths and not trying to take a bite outta me.
@Reaping21 You're right, you don't have to kill the dragon to get to the bonfire up ahead. But it makes things easier when going to the Sunlight Alter prior to obtaining the Lord Vessel. This strategy becomes even easier of you've waited and/or forgotten to kill the dragon until later in the game.
While I was attempting to do this strategy, I noticed the dragons tail had grown back, and since I didn't know if I'd be able to get the Drake sword twice (nom dual wield) or not, I decided to kill it again, and as it turns out, once I killed the tail the entire dragon died O.o. I was getting ready to use this strategy to kill it when I noticed I got 10k souls and the dragon was gone.
@Mittchi Good video, I would say "and an even better tutorial" but the music that comes in out of nowhere just made that part obsolete. You, unlike others who post howto videos for Dark Souls, actually show the technique at least once before timelapsing the video. Some would say this is a cowardly strategy, but in Lordran a hollow should take any avenues available to them, without thought to bravery or cowardice. Anyone who is clever and fast enough to pull this off deserves their 10k souls.
another way is to go where the 3 rats are and shoot its head over there, I used Dragonslayer bow you get fron Anor Londo, the arrows are expensive for it but they do good damage, ofcourse if you can wield it properly

In this case, the hits appears to be divided 50/50 over ranged and melee, making the title misleading and your childish outbursts somewhat bizarre.

While I was attempting to do this strategy, I noticed the dragons tail had grown back, and since I didn't know if I'd be able to get the Drake sword twice (nom dual wield) or not, I decided to kill it again, and as it turns out, once I killed the tail the entire dragon died O.o. I was getting ready to use this strategy to kill it when I noticed I got 10k souls and the dragon was gone.

@Mittchi Good video, I would say "and an even better tutorial" but the music that comes in out of nowhere just made that part obsolete. You, unlike others who post howto videos for Dark Souls, actually show the technique at least once before timelapsing the video. on second playthrough it will be easy as a plus 5 lightining Zweihander does over 700 damage a hit and thats not even a special weapon.

Some would say this is a cowardly strategy, but in Lordran a hollow should take any avenues available to them, without thought to bravery or cowardice. Anyone who is clever and fast enough to pull this off deserves their 10k souls.

another way is to go where the 3 rats are and shoot its head over there, I used Dragonslayer bow you get fron Anor Londo, the arrows are expensive for it but they do good damage, ofcourse if you can wield it properly
