Wow, this intro is over a minute long! Most shows don't really have intros anymore, not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing (I liked all the different intros of the 80s, you could always tell what show was starting just by the theme music, but it cut into the time of the actual episode).

I'm not certain if there are many other shows out there that had such a transitional title. One of my favorite old sitcom themes though.

I loved this show as a kid - the title was a bit unique, but they wanted to ensure that we knew it was, in fact, Valerie's Family, and always would be.

I'm 26, and my brother and I used to like this show when we were young, except we always referred to it as "The Hogan Family" as we were growing up because we forgot what the original title was!
