  • when men were men ,women were women, morals.pride, respect, love! love this song

  • @reagan3rd Heeeey sorry when I wrote my comment the top comment wasn't the same. It was from a nostalgic dinosaur claiming that only the ones who were aged 20 in the 80's were able to understand and apreciate this kind of music... sorry again

    :)

  • Alan Parsons never sings

  • Que mierda es esto x diosssssssss

  • omg my childhood wow still love this song in 2012

  • The style is so old but I love this kind of style!! :)

  • If you listen to In A Funny Way by Mercury Rev right after this, they're pretty similar even though they're separated by 15 years or so...both have that cavernous Phil Spector sound.

  • Love that song.

  • Oh, the halcyon days when MTV actually PLAYED music videos. . .

  • I remember this song from the mid 80s. Awesome 80s song.

  • The video is pure cheese, but the music is pure gold.

  • To Leesa Taylor.....my gf in 1984

  • @ rocklady59-don't know if there was a name for this style, but it was analog animation mixed with real effects, like the pool table and the smoke out of Nick's car-holds up well, esp. if you are older than thirty and came remember b4 all the cgi crap,,,,will have to look for similar styles, check out Take On Me by A-Ha-that video reminds me of this-but if you are my age or older you will remember it!

  • fabuloso, ha tantoa anos que nao ouvia esta cancao. que recordacoes.Juventude volta.

  • Like from Singapore! Great song!

  • Yes, they always were underrated despite they sing very good... following Pink Floyd!

  • Surely one of the best videos/most underrated bands ever? I'm trying to do my bit, badgering my friends about them at any opportunity, and I've started a new Twitter list called #songstojobhuntto which will feature APP strongly - nothing left to lose!

  • Wow! I remember when this video first came on MTV and I'm so glad to have come upon it, thank you to whom ever post it.

  • love this song!!!

  • Great song. Always makes me smile :)

  • Excelente

  • Alan Parsons.....it doesn't get any better..........A1

  • This brings back memories; there was a time when MTV played videos, and this was one of the best they played -- it was ubiquitous!

  • Of course. The music belongs to everyone

  • beautiful song,awesome 80's

  • Drinking and driving nice

  • what a talent....THAT is music

You've gave a great present to me. Thanks a lot.

  • This Christmas, I gave you my heart and the very next day, Alan Parson wrote a song that sounds exactly like me...

  • the L word.

  • What a great song!

  • wow what a flashback. the 80s had the best music by far. really loved this song.

  • The 80's was the golden age of MTV. Sadly those days came and went TOOO fast. In some ways it's sad to see what it has become....A reality show network.

  • when it sez turn and look behind

    i did and i saw a window -_-

  • Dr. Evil sent me here

  • espectacular video

  • ala is agly

  • boooooooooooring

  • This is one of the saddest songs if you listen and read the lyrics. Anyone who has ever had their heart broken by anyone will understand. I think he wants her to says "yes" and does not want her to answer if she is going to say "no" because it will be too hard to hear.

  • This was my favorite video as a kid. I remember back when MTV played music videos. You could turn MTV on in place of a radio.

  • Awesome video and song...

  • I can change your mind.....well Allan could... come sing... come on.. you remember...

  • RIP Eric Wolfson

  • Surreal, Makes me go into deep thought

  • Thumbs down do the top comment if you just discovered this song on the 21st century or at the ending of the 90's or/and you hate old nostalgic cranky dudes but you love music from the 80's or/and you wish that top comments weren't so egocentric and would bring some information about the song or the band instead of stupid comments like "183 people did answer to him" or "thumbs up if you still listening to this in 2056"...yuuuuh sorry for trolling, don't answer me

  • @C4s3yJon3s sorry dude thumbs down on you for picking on a youngun who likes good music..nuff said

  • Yes, I believe in the APP power of magic. Great video, love it!!!

  • remember listening to this in high school

  • Somebody knows similar kinds video clips and the music?

  • Beavis and Butthead brought me here

  • Fists equipped 2:28 lol

  • Thumbs up if you hate the Adam Lambert Add

  • stay on your isalnd, dont answer me...

oi remember this mtv video when i was a dumb kid...now ilm 52, a little high on wine, checking out yutube music, around neighbors who are bunch of barfly lowlifes....though tomoorw ill be sober and trying again to take on world..

  • that´s very nice song

  • What can I say about the APP but that they were such a fantastic band to make their appearance in the 80's! They had sooo many awesome songs. Their music made a real difference in that time. Really left an impression with the majority of us back then. I can remember floating around our pond with my walkman on in our canoe and just floating away in my mind to this band's songs in the warm summer sun. God what a time that was then! I love the 80's so damn much! I miss it just the same! :-(

  • 80s= Best music

  • I remember when this debuted on MTv - it was cutting edge and a little hi-tech for it's time. Also, the sound was different than most of the Alan Parsons material before.

It still holds up to this day.

  • what ever happened to great music like this? Even todays kids like this stuff. Not like the stuff of today which is gansta rap and tomorrow forgotten.

  • Old MTV miss it :(

  • If it wasn´t for MJ´s Thriller, this would have been the greatest video of the 80s

  • great song... great melody... great memories!!!

  • This has a real beauty to that can be hard to describe.I am glad that Alan parsons was one of the first to jump on the digital bandwagon so long ago.So music like this can be heard with the same fidelity time and time again.

  • 5,904 people know the meaning of love

  • I had many lonely nights where this song gave me comfort.

  • it's so cute!hahaha...

  • thanks for the 2 thumbs up

  • got my first toecurling kiss on this song never forget ya Robin

  • awesome song

  • No estoy seguro de lo que me gustaba más cuando era un niño, la canción o el vídeo. Ya no hacen canciones con grandes melodías y armonías como este de hoy. Lástima.

  • 84 people are douche bags.

  • Dont Answer me, one of the best songs ever.

  • Wow, I must be getting old. I was an Alan Parsons fan back in the 70's...

  • Wow! What a great song. I'm not sure what I liked better as a kid; the song or the video. They don't make songs with great melodies and harmonies like this today. Pity.

  • This is a classic example pure '80's music that set the pace for a lot of great artist out there. Today's music scene is just a bunch o' repetitive horse shit. Everyone nowadays is just sucking on next the artists sphincter ring with no fucking talent whatsoever. The music industry has gone str8 to the low-life bottom feeders. I dare anyone to find good music that means anything today. c("c)...

  • @CRuXR1ner Actually, it's quite easy if you look past popular music today. Search for Fleet Foxes or something similar, they're a great modern band.

  • This is 'music' .

  • @bobosharkey-Thanks-wasn't sure of the year I saw it, but it would have been around then, right before videos took off!

  • Nice tribute to the Phil Spector Technique.

  • will still listen to this in about 20 years ...if still alive that is ( 61 years old!)

  • Went through some lonely nights with this song playing in my head.

  • One more thing, yea, this sure looked high-tech in '84, but still holds up well-like it more than a lot of CGI crap!

  • Great stuff-classy, easy listening-remember seeing this on HBO-thumbs up to anyone who remembers HBO video jukebox-this was in '84 or '85 RIGHT before videos took off-I think it was before MTV! Great stuff, don't know why APP never took off commercially. Probably too classy, eighties had good stuff but a LOT of crap that was just noise. Compare this to A-Ha's Take On ME, also very good but completely different style. Think I like this better, though. Good stuff! Wish they would bring it back

  • @Aourc Um, MTV started in 81. Just sayin' :)

  • I remember ;-)

  • Beautiful music for people in the 2011, kids and young people.

  • O_O

  • This video seemed so high-tech in '84.

  • Thumbs way up if you listened to this when it FIRST came out in 84!!

  • @rock1musician haha probably... don't remember much though, in 84 I was 1 :P

  • @rock1musician this deserves the best comment my friend.

  • @rock1musician

I wish, but the only problem is that in '84, I was -3 years old :D

  • @rock1musician I have been a big APP fan from their first album!

This was from "Ammonia avenue" album.

They did their best songs back in the 70´s.

  • @rock1musician I wasn't born yet... is it ok that I still love this song? ;)

  • @Nloveru Definitely. You don't hear stuff like this anymore, so feel free to enjoy. Thanks to Youtube we're not forced to suffer with the stuff that is popular today.

  • @Nloveru music is eternal

  • @Nloveru You damn skippy, why would you ask if OK to love? I actually had to remember name of this band just to respond? How sad is this that I have forgotten more music, cried more tears than you will ever know?

  • @Nloveru It is okay. I love Jimmy Hendrix, and I was born in 1971. This is a great song.

  • @Nloveru It's ok, besides this was better stuff than what they call music today. Play this to your friends.

  • @rock1musician

I did! And it is still one of my all time favorites.

  • @rock1musician I did, back in 1984 I had just started high school. Love this song and video.

  • Vice City :D

  • good times

  • This is one of my songs when I start to feel lonley at night.

  • Good song for a credit role

  • awww so cute.My hero too.

  • just love that...brings back so many memories

  • mostly crap butte some worx

  • Wow i had forgotten this song until i recently heard it on a classic radio station. Very powerful.

  • Great song!

  • My husband introduced this song to me and I'm so pleased he did. I love it..

  • dick tracy

  • Ammonia Avenue!!!!! Weird album name, great album!!!

  • génial!!

  • I was 17 when this first came out...Too bad music isn't good anymore

  • @Teletran35 thanx for saying that! I'm 44 and I think today's music, with a few exceptions like Lady Ga-Ga sux!

  • @Peter43John.. Lady crap crap the Maddonna wanna be ?

  • @Teletran35 But Madonna, after 27 years since her first record, is still a wanna-be herself.

  • Thumbs up, if you think this is a one of a kind song.

  • I really love this song but I don`t see any relation between the lyrics and the images of the video ...

  • prachtige song, doet me steeds denken aan voeger toen ik klein was LOL :-).

  • How wonderful!

  • I like Dub-step and these type of songs... is that weird?

  • @bleusunn Yeah it's weird that you like dubstep...

  • This song is so gorgeous...used to listen to it as a child, wondering what it meant...

  • Stop blocking out love. Let open your heart even if it means you have to lose a silly fight. You'll both be better off in the end.

  • i could almost cry when i hear this.. gives me goose bumps..xx

  • @ozchick56 DITTO.

  • The simple but meaningful song!

  • Sometimes, when I get lonely at night, "Don't Answer Me" gives me comfort.

  • @iammontecristo me 2, takes me back to my childhood days! sometimes i play it over and over and over, cause i know leaving the song means coming back from my thoughts my false world and to the real world where again i play it over..

  • Thumbs up who listens this in 2011! :D

  • @CzarnoWidzeToKonto WTF, stop saying things like this, thumbs whore! 2011... ! I'm trying to plunge myself into the past, stop remembering me the shitty era we're living into...

  • @CzarnoWidzeToKonto

Please take your stuppid bullshit comments to video's of Katy Perry or other mainstream shit, where they belong.

  • I can't believe this was on mtv2. I guess the rumors true mtv used to play music on t.v.

  • this video iso so funny:). Great music

  • 俺は、男でありたい。たとえ、どんな状況でも。

  • @mariruimari si tienes mucha razon compadre .... te comprendo ....

  • A beautiful sight confornted me in the night. It was a pretty, loving homo.--- usually attrib. to Jimmy Carter

  • Back when this song came out I was a young teenager. It was haunting then, and just as haunting now. Very moving, very well done. Truly a great from the 80's. I wish I could back too.......

  • I love this song so much so beautiful & such moving words. Love it

  • This song helped me out in a time when i was really depressed, and showed me good music at the same time

  • Very beautiful song.

  • So nostalgic ...

    Those were great years.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • It could be written, at the end : A question for men only : If a similar event happen in front of you, would you help her ?

  • @WALTKRIEG ye i wudnt a drove the car away from the diner either id step in any time

  • @jewsmakingmovies If you believe what you wrote, I said that we need more men like you in our societies.

  • @WALTKRIEG Yeah I also trip shrooms and smoke weed erryday do we still need more men like me? Just \wanna see what your views r like

  • @jewsmakingmovies I don't say you are perfect, but at least if you don't let a big gorilla hurt a woman, you are a man.

  • @WALTKRIEG Are tripping shrooms and smoking weed imperfections? Not from my pov, I think they enlighten seeing as before i got into this i was the kinda person who wouldn't lift a finger for that chick in the bar

  • Something like that plot on the video happened to me in real life

  • If you believe in the power of magic, I can change your mind.
