Dear friend, if you want to listen to this song again as well as an endless number of love songs I suggest you visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - look for the URL in Google (search Musica para Mimos). Greatest romantic hits of all times!!!
@reagan3rd Heeeey sorry when I wrote my comment the top comment wasn't the same. It was from a nostalgic dinosaur claiming that only the ones who were aged 20 in the 80's were able to understand and apreciate this kind of music... sorry again
If you listen to In A Funny Way by Mercury Rev right after this, they're pretty similar even though they're separated by 15 years or so...both have that cavernous Phil Spector sound.
@ rocklady59-don't know if there was a name for this style, but it was analog animation mixed with real effects, like the pool table and the smoke out of Nick's car-holds up well, esp. if you are older than thirty and came remember b4 all the cgi crap,,,,will have to look for similar styles, check out Take On Me by A-Ha-that video reminds me of this-but if you are my age or older you will remember it!
Surely one of the best videos/most underrated bands ever? I'm trying to do my bit, badgering my friends about them at any opportunity, and I've started a new Twitter list called #songstojobhuntto which will feature APP strongly - nothing left to lose!
Damn, I wish I could go back to '82, I'd taken state for sure. Yeah... Coach woulda put me in fourth quarter, we would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind.
Wow,,,I just went back so many years,,I feel so good I almost cried. This song was so awsome. I was so young and felt so alive. Dam,,life moves to fast
The 80's was the golden age of MTV. Sadly those days came and went TOOO fast. In some ways it's sad to see what it has become....A reality show network.
gracias ganmufino x hacerme recordar esta linda cancion tu sabe q siempre puedes contar conmigo pa lo q sea OK un besoton ASIIIIIIIIIIII DE GRANDE para ti
This is one of the saddest songs if you listen and read the lyrics. Anyone who has ever had their heart broken by anyone will understand. I think he wants her to says "yes" and does not want her to answer if she is going to say "no" because it will be too hard to hear.
Thumbs down do the top comment if you just discovered this song on the 21st century or at the ending of the 90's or/and you hate old nostalgic cranky dudes but you love music from the 80's or/and you wish that top comments weren't so egocentric and would bring some information about the song or the band instead of stupid comments like "183 people did answer to him" or "thumbs up if you still listening to this in 2056"...yuuuuh sorry for trolling, don't answer me
oi remember this mtv video when i was a dumb kid...now ilm 52, a little high on wine, checking out yutube music, around neighbors who are bunch of barfly lowlifes....though tomoorw ill be sober and trying again to take on world..
What can I say about the APP but that they were such a fantastic band to make their appearance in the 80's! They had sooo many awesome songs. Their music made a real difference in that time. Really left an impression with the majority of us back then. I can remember floating around our pond with my walkman on in our canoe and just floating away in my mind to this band's songs in the warm summer sun. God what a time that was then! I love the 80's so damn much! I miss it just the same! :-(
I remember when this debuted on MTv - it was cutting edge and a little hi-tech for it's time. Also, the sound was different than most of the Alan Parsons material before.
what ever happened to great music like this? Even todays kids like this stuff. Not like the stuff of today which is gansta rap and tomorrow forgotten.
This has a real beauty to that can be hard to describe.I am glad that Alan parsons was one of the first to jump on the digital bandwagon so long ago.So music like this can be heard with the same fidelity time and time again.
No estoy seguro de lo que me gustaba más cuando era un niño, la canción o el vídeo. Ya no hacen canciones con grandes melodías y armonías como este de hoy. Lástima.
Wow! What a great song. I'm not sure what I liked better as a kid; the song or the video. They don't make songs with great melodies and harmonies like this today. Pity.
This is a classic example pure '80's music that set the pace for a lot of great artist out there. Today's music scene is just a bunch o' repetitive horse shit. Everyone nowadays is just sucking on next the artists sphincter ring with no fucking talent whatsoever. The music industry has gone str8 to the low-life bottom feeders. I dare anyone to find good music that means anything today. c("c)...
Great stuff-classy, easy listening-remember seeing this on HBO-thumbs up to anyone who remembers HBO video jukebox-this was in '84 or '85 RIGHT before videos took off-I think it was before MTV! Great stuff, don't know why APP never took off commercially. Probably too classy, eighties had good stuff but a LOT of crap that was just noise. Compare this to A-Ha's Take On ME, also very good but completely different style. Think I like this better, though. Good stuff! Wish they would bring it back
