man it's been 20 years since i seen Captain EO i was 14 in 1991 and i went with my family to see it at Disneyland . and 20 years later i can still clearly remember this Entrances Music as if it was yesterday . it has a Creepy cool Space age sound to it kinda sounds like the Music from Flight of the Navigator . old Memorys .
@labanex Bellis said: "I did a preshow for Captain E.O. once that was kind of fun." - True. However I don't think that's referring to this piece of music which is neither pre-show or "area" music (I think "pre-show and area music" are the same thing in that regard). The entrance music actually blends right into the movie score once the show begins. Also, anybody who's followed Horner's career, especially in the 80's, knows this piece is VERY typical of Horner, even today.
@nightwishorchestral1 I mistake what was said about pre-show music with the entrance music. I wrote Bellis and he stated that he created the music on the television monitors in the preshow and the area music. I wrote Horner and have not written back. Bellis stated that the music is Disney's property and even though he wrote the music, Disney is being a little tight on releasing it. He does not have any control over that.
@nightwishorchestral1 ... ... However, a full soundtrack is in the works to include both Michael Jackson songs, Bellis' music in the preshow, and the James Horner's score. I hope it includes the entrance music as well. I would buy the CD in a heartbeat.
@labanex That's awesome news! Is that something that's been formally announced on a website? Because the entrance music blends into the orchestral score (which is clearer in the other video I posted of the full entrance score) I can't imagine why it wouldn't be included. But just to have a clean, clear, stereo recording of it would be a dream-come-true!
@nightwishorchestral1 This is a direct response from Richard Bellis: "I am sadly not the composer of this music. All of my music plays outside including the film on the "making of..." It also periodically plays the countdown clock music.
Thanks for posting this. I love standing in line for Captain EO listening to this as much as I enjoy the show. LoL I have my Bose in ear head phones in and the sound cranked all the way up. I am probably hurting my hearing but I just can't help it.
Also THANK YOU for posting this! It is so hard to find! Would love to capture the whole thing next time I go back to visit disneyland, but am not sure what the best way is since there is a lot of noise during loading.
@nightwishorchestral1 You are correct that there is a music cue to advise the Cast Member to make the show start spiel. The music also auto fades down (and back up) when the cast member uses the p.a. mic during loading. However, no music played during the show start spiel. Although it sounds like the music was "paused" for this spiel, it is not. Rather, it is two separate tracks: The load music ending with a fade down, and the show music starting with a fade up, all designed to sound connected.
You can definately hear a lot of Search for Spock and maybe a little Wrath of Khan in here. don't hear any Avatar, though, which shows James Horner's great variety in music. You can recognize John William's music like anywhere lol.
thank you for posting. starting from 2:34 the segment loops about 8 times. so i guess this is not complete either. i love this spheric "music". btw tchaikowsky created something similiar for his romeo&juliet suite.
@mbalgavy I think before the show starts that last segment only plays once and then fades out for the announcements by a cast member. After the announcement it fades up again into the actual show. At least that's how I think it happens now based on the vids I've seen on youtube. My childhood memories are vague, but I thought I remembered it looping DURING the announcements while it originally ran in the 1980's. If anybody else remembers please comment.

@mbalgavy James Horner is really good at this kind of cosmic, almost "new age" style music. If you listen to certain parts of his score for Cocoon, Bicentennial Man, A Beautiful Mind or more recently The Spiderwick Chronicles you can hear music very similar to this.
So glad you posted this. The third segment is my favorite, Tribute was the first time I saw the show and hearing that entrance music on the audio system rumbling through the theater was awesome.
@tristantitounes I wish there was a full and accurate MP3 somewhere but unfortunately I haven't been able to find it. The 1st part of the track (which is 1:30 seconds long) is correct... but after that I looped the first part because the 2nd part is nowhere to be found. I then took the 3rd part and attached that and then looped it. So basically there are 3 parts to the song and I only have 2. I'm still searching for the whole thing as it appears at Disneyland.

James Horner produced the orchestral music during the movie. Richard Bellis produced the pre-show and area music.
