  • ÇOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK Güzel bi şarkı!Artvini tsaxalsi dan oy nanay da!!!!!!

  • what is this song about?

  • @dzomdzomi its kinda about the sweet lifestyle of the northern anatolian people.. the lyrics of the song is kinda mixed up in this version but its something like: I sloped down to the deep river, To break of an olive branch, I have come to wive you, and you have started to cry By the streamside I caught the yellow snake Oh you hellenic girl You lied to me Streamside's full of xanthiums C'mon let's take a break together Once you talk and then I will So we can free our hearts
  • @EricZahn brother! this is Georgian song! nothing hellenic or nothing any other. this is Georgian and many Georgians still live in Turkey and they also maintain their culture and music and traditons, even though they are muslims! So this song is popular in Turkey also

  • @zviadan i don't deny that there are still Georgian people in the northern regions of Turkey.. Even I have Georgian origin friends who fled from today's Georgia.. I'm not sure if you ever have been to the region yourself but there r 2 dominant cultures in the region.. Georgians and Lazs..Mostly Lazs though.. Before the population exchange which had occurred between 1923 and 1930, the most dominant culture was Grecians or Anatolian Hellens which were the remains of Pontus Greek Empire..

  • @EricZahn There are many Georgians in Inegol, Bursa and many other cities of different parts of Turkey!

  • @zviadan I believe there's a very pointless discussion going on under this subject.. Yes it is just lyrics because all I have done was translating the Turkish lyrics into English.. Now what's the point? If you're trying to manipulate the situation I'm not taking it and I'm really not in the mood for ethnic discussions.. Period...

  • @EricZahn Wich region you mean , Artvin ?

  • @070dh not only Artvin.. mostly on the entire Karadeniz (Blacksea) Region.. and densely on the Eastern parts of the Blacksea Region..

  • @zviadan I'm sure the Georgian lyrics are telling the story of what u have mentioned.. But the Turkish lyrics tell what i said earlier.. and i never mentioned nor defended that it is a "Turkish" song.. there r too many songs like that which are being sang under 1 melody but with various lyrics and thats a very natural result of the colourful and beautiful synthesis of different cultures.. by the way, we as Turkey, not really proud of our PM.. Hope not all the Georgians are like him..:)

  • @EricZahn its not just lyrics my friend, its fact. There are many Georgians from Turkey who come here and study here, have business, meet their relatives and have very close relationships after the borders were opened, when Soviet Union fell. and not many Georgians are like PM actually...))

  • @dzomdzomi however thats not the entire lyrics..

there r a couple more quatrains.. thats much as i can write as the character limit allows me so..

as u can see the first 2 lines of the quatrains don't actually mean anything..

as a style of turkish folk literature, first 2 lines are only for providing a euphony and rhyme.. the last 2 lines give the main idea of the quatrain.. hope that was helpful..:)

  • @dzomdzomi this is Georgian song about their suffer from Soviet communists, when they divided Georgian lands between Turkey and Soviet Union and Georgians ended up to live in different countries without having their own country any more, but now Georgia is a free country, but many still live in Turkey, because big part of those lands that Turkey has now is Georgian, but still we are good neigbours and many Turks have Georgian origins, including Turkish prime-minister Tayp Erdoghan and many others
