The Christian dating scene has changed. The older I get, the more difficult it becomes to find someone who is sincere about obeying God in this area. I am going to miss Peter, that old style BUT Michael ROCKED that song, not THAT was beautiful! I love his version of Glorious. I didn't know it was Newsboys at first becasue I didn't know about the switch. Honestly, I have never been a true DC Talk fan. Toby Mac fan, Michael Tate fan but not a DC Talk fan, so I am glad to see Michael with an awesome band!!
I went to winter jam a few days ago in Tulsa Oklahoma and I wasn't sure how I'd feel about tait singer for the newsboys, but wow did tait and them bring down the house. They rock out and everyone had a blast. Having seen them perform in concert I'd have to say that they made the right move. Cuz I'd definitely go see them in concert again.
I went to their concert in Houston this weekend and it was brilliant. Michael Tait puts on a great performance. It was certainly not a disappointment for this Newsboys fan. I just wish they had done more songs.
I can't help but wonder if there's more to Furler leaving the band than just that he needs to spend more family time. Don't want to make anyone overly concerned, but remember John James?

PETER IS THE NEWSBOYS! He was the only original member of the 1985 newsboys. I don't like all of these changes will phil joel leaving too. I do enjoy Jody's presence again but still, Peter needs to come back!
You know. I kinda like Micheal Tait. I mean he's an okay guy and his voice isn't even bad at all. I can't wait for their new CD. I do miss Peter but come on guys, he didn't even want to be the lead singer. He just did it so he could keep the band together. But you know who I REALLY miss? John James. He is so cool. I wish he would come back. It's so sad the way he had to quit. I am so happy he turned back to god.
hmm, I like it, it's less unique, but he sounds a bit more soulful and emotional, doesn't fit the music as well, but when they write newer stuff for him to sing it should be good
my only concern about Michael Tait is the lack of power on the high notes, but seeing him sing with them gives me a little hope. My dream is that the newsboys now tour with Toby Mac :3

Bummer, However, Michael Tait is a good pick. They worked with him too. Maybe Peter will come back later. I myself have been in Music Ministry every week for about 15 years and have a backup now because i'm burned...but I'm not out. Rest is Good and when you come back you come back greater than ever! I'm going to miss him but there is 22 years of work and we have to be blessed. Pass The Torch Baby!!! Very Honorable. God Bless. You deserve it.

are you frickin kidding me??? this just sucks!!!!!! Newsboys totaly could have picked a much better pick, and not knuckled under to PC correct pressure and have an african as lead singer!!! he sounds more "SOUL", and total against Newsboys style folks!!! this is insance that NB would do this...

I don't think it's any "PC pressure" to have a non-white guy. Newsboys and dcTalk toured together in ancient times. More recently, Michael sang "Joy" with newsboys on their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert, in like '05, or something, and in the show, Peter and Michael are clearly really good friends.

There were here in our town the week before Tait was introduced. He was about 10' in front of me all night and I thought it was odd at the time. After the concert the rumor was circuling that Furler was going to step back with Michael Tait taking the place. I've been wondering for a while how the sound would work together. For this song, anyway, I think it's a GREAT fit!

He is still writing, recording, and producing Newboys Music. It will be Peter's voice on the new CD as well. After more than 20 years of constant work, Peter is simply taking a break and time for his family.
