Funny story, apparently the actor (Max Schreck) was so ugly all he needed to play the role were fake teeth and ears, the director himself said it.

The thing that makes Count Orlok more creepy to me is that the actor portraying him was recalled to be a loner even if he was married, with unusual sense of humor and skill in playing grotesque characters. They once reported that he lived in a "strange and remote world" where he would spent his walking through dark forests.

Finally Count Orlok I love the watch one of the best silent movies next to The Phantom of the Opera. Orlok still frightens me, I just love his Dracula adaption. Max FTW!!
