Apparently they can be bought at many pet stores but in some states you wont be able to find them anywhere since they are illegal to sell. For example I have one I had to go buy in New York at a reptile show since they are illegal to sell where I live in Connecticut.

its almost impossible to tell the difference as they very similar, in terms of sting the asian one apparently has a slightly more painful sting and is a lot more common than the maylasain, its also hard to tell as the maylasain one is often called an asian one as a second name, you will have to find a scientist or someone who knows alot about them to tell the difference, i would suggest surfin google until u find one

emperor scorpions have grandulated chela, asian forest scorpions have smooth, shiny chela. they tend to be bigger than emperors as well.
