quelli erano anni d'oro...dove tutte le case automobilistiche italiane sfoderavano fiori all'occhiello!
that brought a massive smile to my face!! GO FIAT GO wish i had mine with me right now!!!! Valves bouncing revs at 9g rpm!!! arrr its such a great sound. Well done both drivers
Well done Abarth drivers! Both beating the much bigger engined Porsche 356 of at least 1.8cc
For Marcelfast1 Abarth don't go anywhere -normally you only find them at Classic Car events or Historical races. Abarth made few cars and became part of FIAT's High performance tuning Dept. How much HP did this yellow Fiat-Abarth develop?
@soundspur Actually I am pretty sure that is a 1600 Super 90. It does still have about 600cc and 400lbs on the Fiat!
The Fiat should be making about 80 horsepower in full racing trim. The 356 would be making around 100, give or take five horsepower. The Fiat would weigh in about 1300 pounds with cage, and the 356 somewhere around 1700 or 1750. That was really a driver battle, so good job to the Abarth drivers!
Since always! If you think you can beat our Abarth's please come with your car to one of the races!! Hope to see there. Many greetings, from Amsterdam
deppends on the driver track and track conditions the fiat was about 500 kilos of car with 108 hp 200 km/h til speed thay dont have alot of power but they have lots of grip and the light weight PLUS ya kinda have have too be a little crazy to drive those cars
Who needs NASCAR? These videos show what real racing is all about. Great job by the drivers in this video. And, my appreciation to Jasperlzaks for taking the time to post another great video!
Should try a 12-hour endurance race and see what happens.

Nice racing footage.
See my Porsche 356 videos too. It includes movie-material from the production in the 60's.

How many Km (on track) before wasting the engine? It was a 4 speed gearbox?
At the time the stock 1000 was around 85 hp
output,I guess today's remake can get around 100= Great video, thank you so much!
indigoblue555 4 years ago

Those Fiat-Abarths didn't get the nickname of 'giant killer' for nothing. It's no wonder the SCCA banned them in the 60's.

that yellow car that passes both abarths just at the end of the video, what car is that???
BTW congratulations, your car revs beautifully!
