  • DUDE I FOUND THIS SAME CATALOG ON EBAY!!!

  • Is this number still active? OH, it's a 900 number, it's probably a phone sex line now.

  • Wow. They charge you just order merchandise. That's hardcore.

  • The commercial 80's... LOL

  • ONLY $1.50 per MINUTE!!!!

  • Still the greatest commercial ever put out by a movie studio.

  • YOUR DESPICABLE!!! Wow back in the day man...

  • Is it wrong that I instantly thought of the Nostalgia Critic as soon as he got the tie on?

  • I still have my catalog handed out at the movie :)

  • I saw this in 2008 when they aired Gremlins 2. It seems weird.

  • $1.50 per minute added to the phone bill just to get the catalog of tacky lame WB shit to wear?.....

sounds like a bargain to me

  • Comment removed

  • if i do get this ballcap will u stop blocking the music on youtube?

  • OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! I´VE GROWN UP! SHIT! I REMEMBER THIS LIKE YESTERDAY!!!

  • @Rockeroviejo i know what you mean man

  • @Rockeroviejo I know! Everytime I would pop in Batman into my VHS this would play! OH DAMN I'M OLD!

  • I wish Bugs and Daffy could've reunited in a catalog ad in the first Harry Potter DVD

  • I love Bugs and Daffy!

  • Wow 900 number to order junk... That's pretty low.

  • @LaunchSpecials Well, they didn't have pop-up ads back then...

  • Tracking! lol

  • I've been looking for this for forever. It was at the beginning of the Batman VHS in 1989!

  • whoa this was in the VHS tape of beetlejuice and in the gremlins? n yes im agreeing with KGirl its the original vid

  • Where can I get a Warner Brothers Ball-cap? I want one now.

  • @bttfspencer now WB equals black tv shows. do not want. at all.

  • "Offer Good Thru 12/31/1991"

    Dangit, I'm late.

  • @BulletZapper46 Don't feel bad. We're only late by 20 years.

  • So would anyone happen to know if a reason was given why they switched from a 1-800 number to a 1-900 number??? I'm trying to understand why someone would pay $1.50/min just to order a catalog.

  • @tsntana They probably put you on hold for about 15 minutes too.

  • The phone number doesnt exist anymore I think

  • I remember this from the beginning of my VHS Batman Thumbs if if you also remember the diet coke commercial.

  • 0:51

    Nostalgia Bunny

  • 100 percent awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No no they had to call now. They can't watch the movie until they order their new catolog! Lol win!

  • i called this and i ended up Ordering a pizza hmmm oh well

  • Offer good thru 12/01/91

1-900-990-5000...screw this its better late than never I'm calling their asses right now and ordering my damn hat.

  • Damn I remember watching this. lol

  • Bugs Bunny is a fucking tool

  • I remember seeing this ad from the VHS version of the 1989 Batman film.

  • Nice!

  • Damn, I never had the ball cap but I always had the batmask and cape, I think that should count as the cap.

  • Man, this takes me back!

  • Don't forget it airing before Lethal Weapons.

you can't watch a Warner Brothers movie with out a Warner brother's baaaal cap

  • At the time, they didn't exactly have a lot of people doing email. It was 1989 when Batman came out on video (I know, I still have the VHS tape) and this commercial preceded the movie.

  • Just another lame attempt to make money by buying stuff in a fancy way that you can always buy at the store.

  • BATMAN!!!!!!!

  • hahaha wow $1.50 per minute that was expensive bak then no wonder daffy kinda said your despicable while looking down at it. @rsvrdg2

  • a golden eara i miss dearly

  • i guess i was truly never ready to watch this movie

  • I got so much in trouble for calling that 1-900 number when i was young, thanks bugs lol.

  • I have the VHS of this. Can't watch it though because my VCR is broken. So I have the DVD version instead, except they never included these unforgettable commercials that I love from the VHS version.

  • That looks bright.

  • Is that number still around? I'm tempted to call it. =)

  • It's probably disconnected now since from 1:07-1:10 it says that the offer is good until 12/31/91.

  • @SideShowBatt Don't they have a email address why risk the price of the phone call if it's still connected.

  • @hydrolito it was the late 80s, email had not been invented yet

  • I remember this commercial.

RIght before the 1st Batman Movie!

    =D

  • I think that's still Mel Blanc doing the voices

  • @jzerony It's him and Jeff Bergman.

  • @KGirl314 its the original vid

  • @KGirl314 lol wtf does it matter

  • @Justinjaro hehe

  • @KGirl314 you are a moron.

  • Daffy: "NO NO! THEY HAVE TO CALL NOW! IT'S $1.50 PER MIN SO THEY CAN BE PUT ON HOLD FOR THE NEXT CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AND BE CHARGED THEY WHOLE TIME!"

  • my cousioon has this ihe gave me the cap and poster

  • I REMEMBER THIS!

  • I remember not giving a flying fart about this commercial as alittle kid until Bugs held up the catalog and was like BAM, BATMAN, then the logo went away and I instantly forgot

  • My god, the memories. Batman was and always will be my favorite movie of all time. Even as a kid I loved it so much that I had two VHS copies of it in case I broke one from watching it so much. And I only get the same childhood experience if I watch it on VHS, with this commercial and the "Diet Coke" one before this. I dont know why, but its not the same on DVD.

  • The re-dubs are what always stuck out for me on this. Sound so horrible and third-rate. It seemed done only to change "free" to "new" and the diff. number. Daffy's re-dub seems unneccessary in watching the original on another upload. And who wears a baseball cap while watching a movie??

And the answer to the burning question: just dialed it, it's some sort of party line now. $3.99/minute, .99 cent connection charge. Yow.

  • I was slightly crushed when the DVD of Batman didn't have this or the "Warner Bros Home Video" fanfare before the movie. It changes the whole movie-watching experience.

  • haha i remember this tho:) memories

  • Promotion at its best:) main target: Kids lol:)

  • Ah yes.... his in front of Batman and Beetlejuice. Good times =)

  • i definitly remember this from my Batman vhs tape.

  • Me too which is probably why the Batman signal was on the Warner Bros. catalog at 0:31 since it was a commercial on the Batman movie.

  • sooo bright

  • damn, brings back memories watching this on vhs... I never got me that warner bros ball cap... i need to find one

  • Necktie Trap

  • says at the bottom "$1.50 PER MINUTE WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR PHONE BILL"

    wow

  • if ya'll see the cops warner a brother

  • OMG!!!!!!! i havent seen this since i was a kid! my ORIGINAL original batman VHS had this commercial along with the alfred diet coke commercial. maaan this REALLY brings me back to my childhood!

  • @burtonrules123

    same here!

  • Man. I remember this! Holy cow does this bring back memories!

  • LOL Bugs Bunny with the tie totaly reminded me of Nostalgia Critic^^

  • jeff bergman provides the voices of bugs bunny and daffy duck in some lines when mel blanc died and this warner bros catalog ad is for mel blanc

  • Ha! I still have that VHS and I can still say this and the coke commercial by heart. I haven't seen this in like over 10 years too!! Strange things to remember.

  • oh god I want to have your children. I still watch the Vhs of Batman (89) just for this commercial. God bless you

  • I was hoping someone had this. XD I don't have a VHS copy of Batman and I'm not sure the DVD would have it, so thanks!

  • Was this Mel Blanc's final time voicing Bugs and Daffy?

  • @AEMoreira81 actually, it was originally voiced by Mel then revoiced by Jeff Bergman.

  • Burton/Elfman 1989 BM wipes the flo with Chris Nolan and BB and TDK... lol pause at 0:18

  • AGREED! nothin beats original batman!

  • This is at the begining of my 1989 vhs of Batman right after that Diet Coke Commercial.

  • "Don't forget to call Folks."

I'm 20 years too late to order the Warner Brothers catalog. What's the 1-900 phone number: 1-900-990-5000 for now? Is it still for a Warner Brothers catalog, or something else? I'm guessing something else.

  • i want one of those ball caps now

  • i saw this when watching Batman

  • I remember watching this on Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

  • I saw this when we rented "Beetlejuice" on VHS.

  • wow a $1.50 per minute added to your phone bill

  • i remember watching my dad's vhs of batman and seeing this at the beginning.

    good times :)

  • wow, the old wb animations

  • Anyone tried this lately? lol

  • These days, Bugs would tell us to visit their website for a catalog. But in 1989, websites were unknown. I miss their studio stores, those were a lot of fun to browse in.

  • websites didn't exist

  • I know that. lol

  • There is a normal verison without the batman logo on the catalog.

  • this comes out on the very first batman movie vhs

  • (0:51) Nostalgia Critic?

  • @Doofberg3000

nyeeeeeeh, I remember it so you don't have to, doc!

  • @Doofberg3000 Maybe the look that inspired the Nostalgia Critic?

  • Apparently Warner Bros. didn't like Daffy's approach to consumerism.

  • ah Daffy just has that checklist so he can stop from seeing that darn movie man what cheap duck.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh My God! I remember this! Great memories from the early '90's, back when the future didn't seem so far away!

Very nice job! Keep up the great work! Thanks for posting!

    A++++++++

Have a great night, a great day tommorrow, a great night tommorrow, a great week and a great month! Puerto Rican Love from New York City!

  • Does anyone have the Warner Wave ad where it has some awesome synth music and is a promo for Warner Home Video tapes for only $20.00? I think I have that ad on my 1989 VHS tape of Everybody's All American which I got today at the Grafton Flea Market?

  • Their catalogue was on pcfriendly at one time as the "WB Merchandise store" Good Old days.

  • awwman i want the ball cap :-(

  • @kidaqua115 dial the 1-900 number. XD man thats ancient wb for ya. wheres bugs today when you need him. I think loonatics ruined his career. so scooby doo keeps stealing his attention. or batman. or superman. or any dc comic warner brothers owns. we have also lost such great things from WB. kids wb is dead , the wb channel is dead , cartoon network has gone down the drain with adult swim falling behind , we lost a lot after the last decade. things I still cherish. and yes toonami is now dead.

  • holy crap my aunt had this on vhs and i used to watch it all the time when i was like 3 i forgot this was on before batman played holy crap

  • i remember this before watching Lethal Weapon 2 and Batman.

  • WoW, Im a grown ass 29 year old man, and i remember this shit as i kid, i think i was 8. I remember being excited when watching this on my vhs because i knew i was minutes away from watching batman... amazing.. the little things in life, i wish i could feel like that again, the world was a bigger place.

  • damn i remember this and the coke commercial before watching BATMAN at the culver city drive-in i was only 4 but watching these brings back great memories let alone at a drive-in

  • This is the second version of the WB catalog ad, with the "new" Warner Bros. catalog and the 900 number. rarchivist put up the first, which has no Batman logo and an 800 number instead of a 900.

This is probably one of the first Looney Tunes things not to have Mel Blanc - Jeff Bergman does the replacement lines, as this appeared on the Batman VHS only about 4 months after Mel Blanc died.

  • Oh yeah, they call it the "new" catalog because, since it's a 900 number, it's not "free" like they say in the original ad.

  • There was another version of the WB Catalog ad on my 1991 VHS tape of Graffiti Bridge where the WB Shield had the Time Warner byline and the dialog at the end of the ad was different. Does anyone have that version of the WB Catalog ad?

  • I remember that, good times.

  • Oh, the memories this brings back! I remember seeing this ad at the beginning of "Batman" (the 1989 VHS). This ad was also at the beginning of the VHS of "Daffy Duck's Quackbusters".

  • That number is now a phone sex service...bwaaahahahahahaha!

  • You have got to be kidding me!!!!

  • first, did you call it?

  • no, dont call it, it has money, 1-900-990-5000 IS money.

  • this was on the "Bettlejuice" VHS tape also

  • But without the Batman logo on the WB catalouge Bugs Bunny is holding.

  • thats right, if you look closley enough, you notice that the logo Bugs is holding isnt sync w/ the rest of the cartoon.

I'm sure you knew that, i'm just trying to point it out to everyone else.

  • It's too bad that kids these days won't know who the hell Bugs and Daffy are.

  • You have to call a 900 number that charges you 1.50 a minute to order a catalog which sole purpose is to show you what is available to buy?

WTF kind of operation are they running?

Guy: Yes I would like to buy one of your ads so I can see what you have for sale.

Store: By all means, yes, we will sell you an advertisement with listings of our products. Its 1.50 a minute to talk with me to order it.

    Guy: Okay.

    *15 minutes later*

Store: So what was your address again?

  • I still have the vhs tape for batman!! By the way, can I still call the 900 number?

  • I remember this too. 1.50 a minute? That is pretty cheap of them to charge like that. I guess they have to pay for the free catalogs somehow. When I was a kid I wanted a catalog just to look through.

  • I have one somewhere. It was pretty cool. I miss the Warner Bros. Studio Stores. :-(

  • I had this VHS......I always thought this part made the movie more theatrical and timey....that is what ya' need for a BURTON BATMAN!

  • Absolutely :-) When I found out there was a Warner Bros Studio Store about half an hour from here, I was there all the time. And yes, I have a ball cap. :-)

  • I remember the one in our local mall, it's a Tilly's now aka a broski dream store. They had a "spaceship" (really just a set of tubes in the wall under a big screen TV) in the back of the store that you could crawl through, it had buttons you could push that would play sound clips from the classic spoof episode "Duck Dodgers".

  • they had it in mine too. I always wanted scooby doo.

  • @kind2311 Sorry to bring this back up, but we had that in our local Warner Bros. Store too (in the Merry Hill mall, Dudley)! There was also a paint package disguised as a stack of TNT barrels and giant statuettes of the Looney Tunes gang outside the store. In the later years of its life, they had a Basskin-Robbins ice cream parlour, which I went to on the opening day and got a free cone! It's been closed for years now, replaced with a clothes store.

  • @ThePhiltheValiant Thanks for that pile of garbage that no one needed to know about.

  • Can we still use number now

  • lol ill call that number in 2059 and see if ill get my catalouge lol

  • Lol!

  • I remember this advert. When I was a little lad, I used to watch this advert over and over again trying to convince mom to get me that ball cap.

  • I always felt incomplete when I watched Batman on VHS. I had a tub of popcorn and a Diet Soda, but I didn't have a Warner Bros. Ballcap. Better check eBay...

  • i love the wb

    logo

  • catlog desing is a batman wtit a catalog worid on the top

  • I never watch my Batman VHS without my Warner Bros. ball cap.

  • I remember this! I one point, I was thinking about looking for a used VHS copy of the 1989 Batman movie just so I could watch this!

  • I have the first release of batman 89, but mine dosen't have the diet coke commercial, or the warner brothers catalog commercial, but i have the warner brothers commercial on my tape of Lethal Weapon 2.

  • It makes me wonder if that number is still active. I'd be too chicken to call it myself. xD Great clip, tho. I remember this from the Batman VHS.

  • Are you sure about that, Daffy? I've watched plenty of Warner Bros. movies, and I've never had a Warner Bros. ball cap.

  • oh i so remember this!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YOU'RE DES-PICABLE!

That used to scare me. He sounded mad!

  • I still have a copy of Tim burton's BATMAN with this ad on it. Nice.

  • I rememebr this wow

  • it'll make you feel magical

  • 1-900-990-5000 lol you'd be stupid to watch this because if you look at the other ads it says an 800 #, not 900

  • bugs deserved being tied up mu ha ha im not buyin

  • Anybody ever call, lol?

  • Dayum, I miss the old WB Studio Stores.

  • The offer is only good through December 31, 1991?

    FUCKING SON OF A BITCH!

    I just missed it!
