From 800AD to 1100AD the scientific center of the world was Baghdad . this came a great number of scientific discoveries about astronomy, mathematics, medicine, engineering. However something happened that led to the end of this age of science in the Islamic world. What happened was a scholar (Imam Hamid al-Ghazali) who put forth the idea that mathematics was the work of the devil. This plus other things led to the collapse of that scientific tradition, and it has not since recovered.

@selmich23 It called: walla ma yiswa (والله ما يسوى), it was actually a song sung by Husain Al-Jasmi, but later sung as a Nasheed by Muhammad Al-Salman which is this one used in this video. Copy and paste the following in the Youtube search, you'll find many videos of the Nasheed: "والله ما يسوى لمحمد السلمان"
