definitely read the graphic novel. I'm not a fan of novel but it is well written, it gets into what is good and evil, the role of superheros and government. I'm not going to say too much about it because it would give away the story. The flying submarine is actually an airship, and the electric man is actually a character.

It's about how the conventional points of view about superheroes are tested under the rising pressures of reality and its restraints. It's basically heroes not being looked upon as idols, but as public menaces, along with ulterior tones of corruption and political motives. This is a very complex comic, thus my words barely do justice to describe this wondrous work. Just read the comic, and you'll be amazed in every possible way.
