I have a border collie who is the exact opposite of what border collies should be -- doesn't run, mopes around and lays to eat her food. Isn't too overweight though. She goes NUTS for my fourwheeler's front tires, and balls & frisbees, but around the house is just a general lazy pest haha.

Get some lemon balm from the herb garden or lemon balm (Melissa off.) oil from the health food store for that lip. It will burn like a ..... but it will heal it right up. Love your videos! I have a JRT and German Sheppard. Both were naturals at eating and making dog droppings. (very little training required) If you really want to get fancy try training them to sleep. Both of mine have now mastered it. LOL Good looking dog.

Rex will obsessively heard any and all animals and you included that is what boarder collies do. So best not to let Rex know about all the other animals on the farm or he will be out trying to heard them when you are not looking and if you are if you do not stop him.

IDK about you Dave but if I had to deal with those temps I would not be over weight I am fat bc of climate control I stay near the good regulated temperatures. Hurricanes we clear out grab a northern motel return when electric is restored @ home. There are fans with water you can spray I have a camelback that I fill with ice water wear it when I go out doors the icewater rest on my spine does wonders to remove heat wear an ice bag in your head? Cool dog he will be king of the farm.

Border Collies are the best. I currently have a mix. He is half Border Collie-Half Black Lab. He tries to herd me to the door when he needs to go pottie. And he is terrible about trying to control and herd little kids. He does exactly what I tell him. I think he would climb a ladder if I told him to do it. He is the best. They are so smart they are fun to train. I do not train with treats. Preacher

I had a Border Collie years ago . She turned frisbee catching into an art . She liked to heard and give eye , when she was a pup I tied a loop of rope on a boat fender . That became her favorite toy . She had to have something to do all the time , she would start digging when she got Bord.

We've always had Golden Retrievers and about six years ago #1 son brought home an Australian shepherd / Border Collie mix. She is the smartest dog we've had yet and we've had many, many dogs. She has a vocabulary of about two hundred words and learns to anticipate my actions with just a few lessons. They are really great companion dogs, guard dogs, and family dogs,... though they do tend to want to "herd" the younger children.
