I believe these studies were done on older models of SURGE protectors. Because they are there to use a little less power and shut off in case of a surge. My surge protector, which MUST be on at all times to power a server only uses the amount of energy that is required. Therefore unless you are telling people to turn off everything which is an improbable request I think you should try on some bigger issues. Like rather than telling them to turn them off, tell them to get newer models which helps
The newer surge protectors are great. So called "vampire" devices suck energy even when the power is supposedly off. That's money going down the drain not to mention wasteful (obviously not applicable to your server). I have a power strip that feeds energy into other devices only when the device I plug into a switch plug is on. So the tv, xbox, dvd player, etc. only suck energy if I turn on the cable box. The downside? The tv might take an extra second or two to start up. Woopdeedoo.

Your talking points are each thoroughly debunked online, as anyone competent with google can confirm. The "sun is causing" it line is factually false. The "global cooling" idea was a conjecture from the 70s (not the 80s) that never was backed up empirically, way different from the fact that CO2 traps heat, which is backed up by observation.

Well, you're demonstrably wrong. In recent years we've been in a solar minimum but we've still seen abnormally high temps. This whole line about the sun is a talking point from 6-7 years ago. Even then it was bee ess. Although the sun was in a warm phase of its 11 year cycle it didn't accounf for all of the observed warming. Quote below.

They work well I can shut off and turn on power strips without digging them out from behind the furniture.

@TheWolf2788 Yes I agree with Wolf nuclear is the cleanest alternate to coal. The waste can be reused with a Fast Breeder Reactor and Reprocessing. There's also Thorium to think about which is even better in my opinion.

I think there's a growing consensus that we need a new generation of nuclear plants to provide base load power along side renewable and scalable sources like wind and solar. The bottom line, whether you accept the overwhelming evidence that greenhouse gasses impact the greenhouse effect (duh), is that 21st century jobs come from transitioning from 19th century ideas like dirty coal to 21st century technology.

I believe these studies were done on older models of SURGE protectors. Because they are there to use a little less power and shut off in case of a surge. My surge protector, which MUST be on at all times to power a server only uses the amount of energy that is required. Therefore unless you are telling people to turn off everything which is an improbable request I think you should try on some bigger issues. Like rather than telling them to turn them off, tell them to get newer models which helps

The newer surge protectors are great. So called "vampire" devices suck energy even when the power is supposedly off. That's money going down the drain not to mention wasteful (obviously not applicable to your server). I have a power strip that feeds energy into other devices only when the device I plug into a switch plug is on. So the tv, xbox, dvd player, etc. only suck energy if I turn on the cable box. The downside? The tv might take an extra second or two to start up. Woopdeedoo.

I said Nuclear power is the cleanest power source that can Meet today's power needs, not the end all cleanest power. Alternative power sources like wind, solar and geothermal are fine as supplemental power sources, but the key word is supplemental. You need a primary power source and nuclear power is the cleanest power that can accomplish that.
