  • Oh man,I was at this concert with some friends & cousins of mine.It was my first Day On The Green & we slept in line by the Malibu race car track, because tickets were general admission. Our car ended up getting towed because we parked at Denny`s.Ted Nugent headlined & came out swinging from a vine & threw a bunch of foam rocks off the stage.

  • That would have been an amazing show! Yes its crap quality, but its still AC/DC

I wish I could have been there!

  • RIP Bon Scott.! I remember angus riding Piggyback on Bons shoulders MONSTERrrRRrrrrs OF ROCK!!!! i was there.

  • the whole gig is up on Wolfgangs Vault - in much better quality.

  • @tomscotland yeah, its great:)

  • thumbs up for old shool microphones^^

  • Day on the Muthafuckin Green! Ya.... I happen to be there, I saw a shitload of bands at the Oakland Coliseum. We had the "Day on the Green" festivals every summer there for years. They dont do it anymore tho.

  • @loutondacoast Relax dude. I agree the quality is crappy, but given the technology at the time, unfortunately this is how the majority of video bootlegs were. Alot of audio boots were equally crappy sounding as well. I think it's a cool clip for the nostalgia value.

  • @loutondacoast

Fuck off you stupid cunt, this is for FANS

  • @boogiesg84 thats right mate... thank you

  • @boogiesg84 Hes right though. I am die-hard ac/dc fan but i donth like this video. Only because of the low-quality sound.

  • @loutondacoast

Bullshit, it'snot about the sound quality it's about a peice of DC history. Watched and enjoyed. Thanks.

  • Man, they had cameraphones back then? ;) You dont know what you've got til it's gone. Look at that crowd, limply clapping and folk on shoulders. If the crowd of today got to that gig there would be limbs flying into the air along with pints of piss and beer! Balloons?! HA!

  • No such thing as a rare song lmfao..

  • i dont know what the fuck happened but that was the only day on the green i missed in 4 yrs!! i saw them twice in 78 with aerosmith headlining once and terrible ted headling the other time!! boc, cheap trick, van halen, pat travers, journey etc... the elite of 70's hard rock, thank god i got to live it!! zep, derringer, priest in 77. beach boys, elvin bishop, america in 76, everyone else that was out there....

  • WOW!! I was there too! I miss the days of the Day On The Greens

  • ANGUS! 4:40

  • I too was at this show - Bon was amazing and they carried Angus thru the crowd on a couple guys shoulders at one point - I still have the t-shirt somewhere - monsters of rock!

  • I remember Bill Graham coming out several times between bands and begging everyone, "can everybody please take TWO STEPS BACK!" over and over. The crowd were all jeering, "dick! DICK!" I was like, "who's this guy and why's he a dick?" That was the first time I had ever heard of Bill Graham.

  • Look at all the energy these guys had when they were young. There is no doubt about it that they were one of the top 4 rock 'n' roll bands in the history of rock 'n' roll. It was the Beatles, Led Zepplin, I would say next the Stones, and then AC/DC.

  • you can tell its AC/DC with a little man runningwild on the stage

  • @EricoSuaveBigD WAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :D

  • I was 14 when I saw this concert. I remember while waiting in line, it rained like hell soaking us all. I didn't know much about AC/DC at the time but I came away from this as a huge fan.

  • @nevadadirtrider I know, right? This was a crazy, awesome concert with a lot of crowd chaos. I hadn't heard of them either but I walked away a fan - and I didn't even like that kind of hard rock til then. I think this was the day disco really died! Some haters responded about me smoking pot at 12 yrs old. Uh, that wasn't that weird back then and it was probably just a bunch of cheap shake anyway. Welcome to 1979.

  • HD 1979 style .

  • A tantalizing glimpse of where AC/DC were going pre Brian. From 1981, they were so intent of staying true to the originals, retaining the classic sound, that originality and experimentation was basically thrown in the freezer.

No Brian and the boys would never have played this version. It's not on the LP.

  • Everybody wanks you fuckwit !

  • this isnt rare its on the let there be rock from 1978 dude wtf ?

  • Even with this bad quality ! AC/DC still Rocks!! :D

  • Listen up! It's very important!!!

The rock nation will be attacking Justin Biebers BABY video

on September 1st onward ... Remember to dislike, put a comment and flag on the baby vid on sep 1.

We need your help to destroy this modern autotune music that

has ruled the world. Copy paste this comment on every good music

video such as: Metallica, Dio, AC/DC, led zep, the doors, Beatles,Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, hendrix

    Guns n' Roses, etc.

    Thumbs up 2 this plan

  • @MatthewCarlo Wanker.

  • Imagine seeing a concert like that today live. That was incredible for an amateur band! Bands don't do this anymore.

  • its not rare anymore haha

  • whoa...

  • this is rare because it sucks.no disrespect to the band but the audio is horable. i love this song,if the title is correct.but i can barely make it out.

  • this reminds me of Woodstock 1969

  • I was there too! This brings back so many memories. The person who mentioned the palm trees....there were several bands there, the dinosaurs were for Ted Nugent and the palms were probably for him too. lol Or maybe Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush or Aerosmith or St. Paradise. Can't remember that much, it's been a long time! lol

  • What could be less appropriate as a backdrop for an ac/dc show than palm trees? Maybe a nativity scene. Excellent post.

  • thanks for posting, I made it to that show. . . it seems like a world away.. from any thing today. we had it pretty good ( back in the day )..

  • MAN! I was there...I can't believe it! I never thought I'd see that again. I remember it as if it were yesterday AC?DC was absolutely amazing. I was hooked them for life after seeing this show. Nugent and Aerosmith and Mahogany Rush were there too but AC/DC was definitely the high point.

  • This is rare. Birds shitting in my left eye while in mid cartwheel is too though. Thanks!

  • 0:35 was awesome

  • If I recall correctly, this was AC/DC's encore number. I was ecstatic. It had been raining earlier, then the sun came out just as they were finishing their set, and they came out and encored with this song, which is one of my favorites. Great memories.

  • I was there. About about 5 people back from the stage on the left.

  • Ive always loved this song I bet they only played it live on this tour.

  • Yeah if only iPhones were invented 30 years ago. Imagine all the bootleg footage of early ac/dc that would be avaliable if we had iPhones during Bon Scott's time in the band. Alright, the sound and picture here may be bad, but at least it's been filmed. The more rare footage of Bon fronting ac/dc the better. Let's hope more surfaces one day

  • Cause where the fuck you going to find any other footage a hole! This is a "Day on the Green" show IT's a bootleg FUCKIN ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the quality of this vid sucks major ass.. why post somethin where the feedback on the vid cant even b recognized.. its awful.. but the song def rocks

  • Don't know where gethsenamane is from but he's not from Nor Cal. Yes the coliseum has an open end and we did start partying at an early age. I was also at that show and it KICKED ASS!!! he got one thing right, the raiders do play there!

  • Quality sucks ass....SONG ROCKS MA SOCKS!!

  • great concert

  • Wow this was a blast to see,

    I was there..

Thank you for the post :-)

  • HORRIBLE audio but definitely interesting to watch... lol, it's a great song when you can hear it properly. =]

  • @JAVMAN3000 try to explain that to my wife :P

  • @RythmTR lucky guy!!! My wife left me for a 27 year old!!! Hope she wears that make up in the morn at 43 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @nehocyrrah 0_o strange luck when we think about it... maybe its not a bad thing that she's gone, now you are free to find a better girl or more, anyway did we really hope...? :P

  • @RythmTR Thanks bro for the positivity!!! Much appreciated!! God Bless!!!

  • Thanks for the video.Bon will always kick ass.

  • Oh, god, I was there. That was my first rock concert. 12 years old, drunk and stoned. Thank god I was conscious thru AC/DC and Aerosmith. I passed out shortly after Ted Nugent took the stage (another blessing). Their performance blew me away. I still miss Bon Scott

  • no you were not at this concert. first of all, oakland coliseum was a football stadium. And at the time was where the raiders played. it had no open back. who knows where this is from. so stop lying and saying you were at this show. go do somthing else. and if you were drunk and stoned at 12. well...again...you are a liar. got it...good.

  • Sad, lonely troll - spending Xmas Eve writing mean comments to strangers on the Internet. Maybe if you smoked some pot you'd learn to love yourself a little more and wouldn't need to take your pain out on others. You can read more about the Day on the Green concerts by looking them up on Wikipedia. You should also learn more about the Oakland Coliseum, which has both an open stadium and a closed arena. Did then, and still does.

  • @orinator2

drunk and stoned at 12? wow you're sooooooo cool

  • @frybrain94 faggot

  • @orinator2 bull crap u went to that concert i bet u dont even no all thier names

  • @orinator2 you lucky lucky bastard!

  • @orinator2 lucky...i wish i was old enough to see acdc with bon scott

  • @orinator2 u were drunk and high at age 12?!

  • @orinator2 i was here too. 13 at the time. they came beack and headlined the arena in october. did an in store for highway to hell out at the record factory in concord. i was gonna take BART, but it was on strike.

  • @orinator2 my first show too. i was 13.

  • @orinator2 12 years old, eh? Well, you know what they say, mate: Better Late Than Never. Haha, just kidding. You are so lucky you were there.

  • @orinator2 LOL!!!!! kids like you make me ROFL IRL!!!! a 12 year old "drunk and stoned" LMFAO1!!!!! Kid grow up! stop trying to show off!!! LOL!!! You're probably like fucking 14!

  • @iaresheepy Stupid troll. I'm 44. Sorry if my youth was more interesting than your is. I was the youngest of several siblings who all got high. That's what everyone did back then.

  • @orinator1 A 44 year old person lurking youtube that knows the meaning of troll? Yeah. You're really 44. Your grammar shows it. "interesting than your is." Nice '7th gr4d3 lernz'. Yeah. Your whole family got high. Okie-Dokie. That's not what everyone did back then. My mom was from the 80s, my dad was, my grandparents were, I have friends that were. Drugs were popular but kids never did drugs. You're thinking of 208 and onwards, sorry "homie".

  • @orinator2 Yep, that's good of you to put this clip up for us true DC fans. Of course the quality isn't going to be that good, considering the clip is over 30 years old. It would of been a true honour to see DC playing with the late and great Mr Bon Scott. HAIL TO AC/DC!!!

  • that intro where angus run over the podium really funny :p

  • lol sound is crap, but i guess its a rareity.

  • Horrible audio/video. But thanks for posting.

I love Bon Scott, he was one of a kind. I miss him- a lot!

  • its 1979. of course. dont complain. think of whats best.

  • Not complaining, just stating a fact. I said thanks for posting! Bon deserves better audio ;)

  • Shit I bet the weed was strong but mellow and the whole atmosphere was electric as hell, not to mention the girls. I remember as the show opened hearing Brian Johnson say at my 1st AC/DC concert, "Ah the smell of illegal substances in the air." He was right!

  • You should try to find a better audio boot and layer it on top!

  • ah yes....good ol' Bon Scott!!! AC/DC IS AMAZING...WISH I WAS THERE!!!

  • i dont exacyly know what you are arguing about buts thats definetly bon scott

  • yea its totally Bon Scott, i can recognize that poofy hair anywhere

  • what the hell..? You dumb fuck..

  • @boogiesg84 ACDC FOREVER

  • You are wrong,he joined in 1975.You'd think a person with Bon's good name in his screen name would know that.Let There Be Rock was released in 77' maybe that's what you meant. What you said was unnecessary considering the right date or not this is still a nice thing for him to post, thank you

    boogiesg84

  • no

    Bon joined in 74

    not 75

this was filmed in 79 a year before he died

they went on tour and they did this song along with many others

    it wasnt a specific album

just a tour to get known better and get more fans

    not to support an album

  • Look nitroass23, go listen to something you know more about, like Michael Jackson. Bon came aboard in 1974, September 1974 as a matter of fact.

  • man i wish i born earlier

  • Me too. I've seen AC/DC 6 times since 1984, but never got to see Bon Scott. Whatever the case, AC/DC can rock the fucking house like NO OTHER band, bar none!

  • Opps i was wrong about the line up. It was ted nugget, aerosmith, ac/dc, frank marino and mahogany rush , saint paradise.

  • I went to this concert at oakland alameda stadium in california. It was ted nugget, aerosmith. ac/dc, not sure of the next band maybe ufo and a band called the rockets opened the show. I was up front and got some great pics on a 110 kodak camera.

  • i was laffin at you bday butt buddies, then i looked at the date---------------- i was 13 that day lol!!!! go cancer!!!!

  • that concert is on my birthday!

  • haha one day after mine :P

  • wow this takes me back-think it was if you want blood tour 1979-i saw them at liverpool empire-england-angus+bon scott-r.i.p.awesome live band

  • Angus is one of the few people I know who can headbang to something you would never expect to see someone headbang to. AC/DC is amazing.

  • MONSTERS OF ROCK CONCERT,BILL GRAHAM DAY ON THE GREEN CONCERTS,,,,I WAS THERE UP FRONT, 10 FEET FROM THE STAGE,,,,vintagetourjackets

  • What the hell is up with that stage?

  • yeah that stage could do with a gardener!!

  • fuck that quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why is it so rare? its just a bad quality video lol

  • well I have seen plenty of bad quality videos that are also rare.

  • my first concert..................fuck yeah

  • Priceless? Yes!

Why for me? Well I love AC/DC and it reminds me of when I came home from Christmas Eve as a kid and had gotten Pit Fall for the Atari 2600. I hooked up the old game console to the 12" B&W and rock on. Those were good times actually (don't need your iShit to be honest with you). Ride On my friends.

  • LOL i only hear a little bit bon :D

  • saw them at wembley stadium same year.fuckin great stuff.

  • I wish to be there. Bon was the best. Greetings from Brazil !

  • I was there. I might be among the people in the opening footage. (who the hell had a video cam in 1979?) Ex-wife through away my souvenir t-shirt....

  • "Ex-wife through away my souvenir t-shirt.... "

well fu** her!!! thats not a right thing to do!!! she is a very bad person!!!! ;-)

  • i see why shes an ex wife

  • isn`t that what the guy said on the page after this one?

  • >>> NEVER enuff film / video of early

Ac/dc !!! Shame audio is crap. Bon was the best !!!

Your very lucky if you saw this in person.

Bon was the best front man ever !

Even in this crap sound, you can still hear how good he was !

  • I was at this show. I was a Freshman in Highschool. My first concert, the best day of my life back then. When Angus went body surfing into the crowd and continued to play his guitar...seemed so unreal. Could never happen today. I also saw some guy fall off the top of the coliseum that day backwards into the parking lot. Very scary.

  • 0 for quality cant even hear

    what a shame

  • wash your ears

  • IM SURE IF AC/DC DOES ANOTHER dvd they could clean it up and make it audible for a historic document type video

  • My First ROCK Show..I was Also at this show.. I was 12yrs old and My sister's BF took us.. I will never forget that day. Long Live Rock.. Thx for the Memory. Wow it's Been Thirty years ago this year... Time Flies when you're young and dumb but it ALL was Worth it..

  • I was at this show. Day On TheGreen #3. Ted Nugent, Aerosmith and Frank Marino were also on the bill.

  • this is the exsact date when i was born wow i didn't awere to see this but thanks 4 uploading such a precious video

  • This comment contains a typing track that has not been authorized by WMG. The words have been disabled.

  • looks like the video is 20 generations from the original 1979 copy,

i was there about 15 feet from the stage in that crowd ,i had a crappy still camera and shot some photos of this concert ,,Monsters of Rock, Bill Graham Productions,

ac/dc,ted nuge, areosmith, mahogany rush, st paradise was the opener band,

    David Keeler

  • kill song but video and sound suck

  • There is a reason this is "rare". The sound and audio quality is terrible.

  • Very cool to see something this rare. Love the stage too. Long live AC/DC!

  • nice vid thx acdc is the best band ever made!!

  • ac dc mitici! qualità del video pessima!

  • OMG! I was there! My friend and I actually got back stage (couldn't do that now)

  • ha, i have the aerosmith set from this show.

  • ok ac/dc are the greatest band ever agreed :)

but why is the dinosaurs on the stage? lol

  • In the 70's at the Oakland Colliseum they "Billy Graham Presents" put on huge shows called Monsters of Rock. A day like this might have Ted Nugent, ACDC, Aerosmith, Blue Oyster Cult and Santana all the same day.

They had big stage props and sets usually:-) Can anyone say who else was at this show? I think I may have been there too, those days are sort of a blur though I saw so many great shows in those days:-)

  • rainy day, started by frank marino, acdc, aerosmith, and ted nugent, have the crowd left after aerosmith, i still have my ticket $14 back in the day!

  • What the hell? I was at this show, how could you possibly know that and send me this obscure rare video LOL:-p I was at a lot of these Oakland San Francisco shows....

    Great, thanks a lot!!

  • Steven Tyler was bragging about the Blonde Lebonese remember that.... :-)

  • DetroitBalla21, go listen to ur gay emo metal shit. ACDC kicks ass and is probably one of the best bands of all time

  • if they have no skill then why are they in the rock and roll hall of fame and why is angus in the top 100 guitarists of all time????.....oh yeah, its because they rock!

  • Dont you think the song "thunder struck" takes guitar skills?

  • rofl lil wayne "a real artist" how much skill does it take to go on a stage and talk? Guitar takes skill, instad of some shit talking on stage about rape and balls you douche, AC/DC is the best Band Ever and it is not over rated, They earned their respect.

  • JUST SHUT YA FUCKIN TRAP AND WATCH IT YA FUCKIN mUPPET !

  • holy crap i remember this day i live in oakland area great memories. im gonna see them on the second

  • look like hawaii but i know its not

  • Looks Scary

  • I love the sound ;-) 5-stars for the grate sound

  • King Kong from the olden day's is better...but I still like it!

  • WOW! Great vid! Thanks for posting. I swear, I wish I can close my eyes and go back in time. Music now sucks ass. LONG LIVE AC/DC!

  • jumanji!!!!!

  • that suks

  • that is the worst sound qulity i ever heard i think

  • its from 1979 tard

  • you must have NEVER seen any footage before then, theres Lots of Footage from 60,s 70,s

even the 40's! that sound Very Good.

it really has to do with the Camera

a cheap ass camera was used, Cool footage

though to bad it wasnt PRO filmed

  • yea, but those were probably re-enhanced thats why you think its so good

    and the 40s?

footage from the 40s were definitely enhanced

  • enhanced yes BUT stil very good footage

when a film is recorded shitty, theres Not much chance on enhancing it.

  • wait, are you talking about the quality of the film or what the film is based on? -- in this case an ACDC vid from 1979

  • I was refering to your comment that it was filmed in 79, you made it sound as though anything filmed in the 70's look like this.

I simply said IT doesnt matter what yr specifaclly, a shitty Camera will produce a shitty video, let me rephrase it

    This is cool RARE footage

  • oh yea, i see youre point

i didnt mean anything filmed in the 70s looked like this, i was just trying to prove a point to that other guy, when he said this was shitty quality

and yea, ill agree to that this is cool, rare footage, and its the shitty camera fault
