I wonder just how many people understand what the drunk means by "You're late, and you're supposed to be pink." LOL I crack up about that every time I see this cartoon.
LMAO oh my god... this takes me way back this was my absolute favorite looney tunes cartoon... I never understood why they didnt make the tiny elephant into a series to be perfectly honest, it would have been great :P
This is one of my favorite cartoons. :D I love how most of the people freak out over that elephant while the drunk and the little girl were the few who weren't as bothered. Anyone know what the name of that piece is that played a few times that was like the elephant's "theme song" in a way?
If only Cartoon Network could take a look at these classics, again, and realize how much they screwed up with that new stuff they have on, now. Cartoon Network's gone straight down the drain
I wished people would stop saying cartoons need to be like this now adays, If we had them, then this wouldn't be remebered as mush as they should. Shit Nowadays Aren't Ever Gonna Be Like It Once Was Ever Again. Is Wishful Thinking, But Stop It It Just Remeber These, Buy The Dvds, ANd Share Them With Your Kids And That Will Be That.
This kind of thing is really what Chuck Jones did best, when the humor is coming almost entirely from the character's expressions and reactions. He was unmatched in that area.
the director of the cartoon oversees the whole production, comes up with the initial drawings and character designs...Charles M Jones was one of the best...I read his biography..if his Dad hadn't have worked selling stationary, Charles never would have started drawing...
This is the way we wash our hands, wash our hands, wash our hands, this is the way we wash our hands so early in the morning. Then brush our teeth and comb our hair...... It's a nursery rhyme about hygeine
The elephant is so cute! Why is everyone so afraid of it... especially that one lady when he tried to help her hang laundry! Also, is the child's voice June Forray? Gret cartoon!
I'm not really sure why the people got so freak out over a tiny elephant. But my guesses are that they either thought they were seeing signs of insanity or this cartoon just shows how people get so scared or anxious over little things rather than more bigger problems.

I love how something so unusual could cause so much havoc...and yes, the smoking cracks me up! It is usually portrayed on older cartoons as a social habit, here it is portrayed as a nervous response to seeing the elephant.
I love the drunk man who sees "Tiny" and says, "You're LATE!"
Thanks SO MUCH for posting. I've been looking for this for I don't know how long. I've described this cartoon to so many ppl over the years but no one ever remembered it.
Wow, I never had that problem. I mean, it's not like I've talked to that many people about it, but the ones I have talked to seem to remember it. It's a matter of knowing the name of it, which managed to elude me until about 5 years ago.
I've been looking for this cartoon for years! This is where I got my daughter's name from-I've loved it since seeing this cartoon when I was 4. I finally got to show it to my Genevieve today. :)
@saphireroze001 SpongoBob is annoying as hell and way to stupid for kids to watch, at least this humor is purely innocent, not annoying and not appealing to "random bullshit" with some sexual connotations.
@DrumCorpsAlum Whaddaya mean? Spongebob is the ONLY decent cartoon out there now!. I for one think it's great: it has so many well executed double meanings and kids as well as adults can laugh along to it.
@DrumCorpsAlum SpongeBob isn't an abomination and neither are the other cartoons that the current generation has. Your parents probably felt that the cartoons your generation grew up with were abominations.
what is the cartoon where that guy is trying to sing in preperation for a concert and bugs keeps singing and making noise and the guy gets mad and then bugs attacks him at the concert?

So, the director is very much important.
I love this. Why wasn't it ever made into a series? WB probably lost big bucks by not doing that. This was great. BTW, that 'scientist' at the end reminds me of someone, does anyone else see it? If so, WHO does he remind me of?
Im Looking for a cartoon i dont know who produced it but it was based on figurative language. Some guy dies and explains his life to st. peter and uses all these figurative phrases... can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you so much for posting this! I happened to see it on Cartoon Network one day in 2002 when I really needed a laugh. Afterward, I spent a lot of time searching for it on DVD and elsewhere, as well as telling people about it. I eventually recorded it on VHS (and guarded it with my life), but I've been hoping for a better copy ever since then. I'm quite relieved!
I drew a picture of a mouse-sized elephant scaring a human-sized mouse, and two people commented describing how it reminded them of a Looney Tunes cartoon. Neither of them could find it. Based on clues from both of them, I hunted for it, and lo! It is here! Thanks for posting this! :)
Back in the decades of 1930-1960, it was okay for cartoon characters to smoke. Because everyone smoked. The Flintstones smoked, too! But in the time of political correctness, all cartoons of these periods we're edited to take out smoking. It sets a bad example for children who have parents who don't do good examples.
Seriously this is one of Warners' best. The Chuck Jones period was downright surreal at times. And you can't beat those facial expressions. I wonder; could this cartoon have been a reference to UFO sightings? This was around the time people first starting claiming to see them (early '50s), and of course they were widely dismissed as "mass hysteria".

Yes! Thank you for putting this up! No one I've talked to seems to know this cartoon. Are there anymore videos out there for it?

Way too loud. "I keep a giraffe in mine" sounds familiar.
4:50 was the best 'j::j'
5:08 was so unexpected.

Who isn't smoking in this cartoon?

As someone who has that "nasty, evil habit", that made me go back and take a look.
There are four smokers in this cartoon:
The stevedore (longshoreman) at the beginning
Man who calls police because the elephant is in his birdbath
Genevieve's mom (Marsha)
Man in front of crowd watching flagpole painter

Back in the decades of 1930-1960, it was okay for cartoon characters to smoke. Because everyone smoked. The Flintstones smoked, too! But in the time of political correctness, all cartoons of these periods we're edited to take out smoking. It sets a bad example for children who have parents who don't do good examples.

The question is, WHAT were they smoking? :)
