I think humans have the excellent ability to see patterns in just about anything, that is why people can look past the inconsistencies in the bible. As far as extra dimensions, yes I have started the long road of trying to understand the theoretical models in string theory that call for extra dimensions(I am a Physics student). However, these dimensions are only discerned at the sub-atomic level, since they are in fact topologically compact-manifolds.
This is of course, at the current state,, a mathematical-physics maneuver, in order try and rectify the inconsistencies present in the standard model of quantum mechanics. I don't think you understand the true nature of morality. Unless someone has a mental handicap, NO ONE is going to randomly go on a killing spree. Morality is a process derived through natural selection. Well I've been an atheist my whole life. Never once considered that god or the bible was real. I think humans have the excellent ability to see patterns in just about anything, that is why people can look past the inconsistencies in the bible. As far as extra dimensions, yes I have started the long road of trying to understand the theoretical models in string theory that call for extra dimensions(I am a Physics student). However, these dimensions are only discerned at the sub-atomic level, since they are in fact topologically compact-manifolds.

I figured you might go there. Science, logic and mathematical reason give us EVIDENCE that extra-dimensions might be present in our universe. However small or theoretical it may be, it is still evidence. God on the other hand, cannot be shown to exist by science, since he does not exist in the natural world, thus making him supernatural. Science cannot prove a supernatural argument, thus we must act as if it is false until presented with proper evidence.

I don't think you understand the true nature of morality. Unless someone has a mental handicap, NO ONE is going to randomly go on a killing spree. Morality is a process derived through natural selection. In other words, it just isn't good for a community for an individual to randomly kill other individuals, therefore, like species don't normally kill like species. Religious people have this idea that without worship, society would erupt into chaos, this couldn't be further from the truth.

All Atheists view rape and pretty much any violent crime as wrong. What is funny is that overtly atheist countries have a MUCH lower crime rate than religious ones. It seems that rational thinking is a cure for all ills, not God.

Well I've been an atheist my whole life. Never once considered that god or the bible was real. I mean growing up, my parents didn't say anything about it really, so I guess I assumed it was real I guess... but as soon as I found out that santa wasn't really real, it was kind of all the same to me. so... to answer your question, I don't get any morality at all from the bible. I have empathy and morality all by myself. I think humans just have it. So of course we know that harming others is wrong.

Black magic? Don't tell me you believe in that sort of thing. But no Pantheism is more a "sexed up" Atheism. It basically states that there is no such thing as a personal god, but that Nature = God. In this way Einstein could be described as a Pantheist, since he constantly talked about a "God" as a poetic device to describe the universe. In other words, its not a religion at all and definitely has nothing to do with black magic. More like Wicca - God.

But why does God need to exist, the universe could have, and probably did come into existence without God. We don't need, nor have guidance from a supreme being, it is merely all in our heads. But as for the bible, their are so many contradictions that are held throughout. One of the big contradictions is the difference in God's personality from the Old to the New testament. But I think the most dangerous thing, is how truly vague it is, people can interpret the bible any way they choose.

Here how I learn, Lets say I was studying and and trying to get my A+ cert. I never touched a computer nor build one. So I have at eacher, telling me how ram works, Now I will look at him with a confuse face, but take notes. But when I go and read about the topic, I understand more, because I will put 2 and 2 together and get a better idea., using his lecture and reading.

But in our case we have never seen the teacher or know of him to exist. And in his teachings he blatantly says that you must have blind faith that he exists because he will never reveal himself to us. If this truly was a teacher, I believe we would both go on with our lives and not care of his existence or lack there of. God provides us with no evidence of his existence and gives a clearly faulty "handbook" to have as a guide. If this were anything else we would have blown it off as false.

Also, the Greeks predicted(quite accurately I should say) that atoms were the basic building blocks of matter and that the electro-magnetic force has both positive and negative polls with like charges repelling and unlike attracting, and no one sees this as proof that Zeus is sitting up on mount olympis. But there is no proof that God handed the bible down to man. There is about the same amount of proof for that as there are for UFO sightings and we look at them in the same way. As for Scientific advancement, don't even go there, a recent poll suggests that over 93% of scientists are atheists and many of the past greats have spoken strongly against personal Gods and fundamentalist religion.

Look, I am a double major in Physics and Mathematics(not bullshit I promise) and have taken a class on the history of mathematics. And you are right, the middle east had a golden age, and it was one of the greatest in the history of mathematics. MY POINT IS, what does this have anything to do with God? As far as I know, God is not a mathematical theorem and cannot be proved as such. Neither science nor math prove or disprove God's existence and you have yet to provide any evidence as well.

But in this comment I see your problem. You don't know how science works! You have made the claim that God exists, it is up to you to provide evidence. Science is NEVER called upon to prove a negative, its sole purpose of existence is to make statements about the evidence we see in our universe. There is no evidence for God, science can't prove anything about something that lacks evidence, therefore we act as if he doesn't exist. Oh and the Unicorn was used to make a logical point.

But I've looked at those verses and they are so vague they could mean anything! That's the problem with holy books, you can interpret them to mean anything. Also, astronomy was alive and well back then(they couldn't have guessed the big bang, but that really doesn't matter) so it shouldn't be that crazy that knew information about the stars. If they had illustrated one of the Metric Tensors I might be convinced, but I looked up a vid on it and like I said the verse was extremely vague.

1)Nothing, it is a scientific theory. It says and does nothing for society.
2)Atheism does nothing, it is merely the lack of belief in a deity. Science and Skepticism are what we use to answer questions about nature and refute supernatural claims
3)Morality is easily explained through natural selection. For example, if the murder rate of a colony exceeds the birth rate, then society fails. This is why we view murder as "evil". You can of course extrapolate this to include others.
