These are way cool, but the biggest issue is that theyre almost too light (30 tons right haha), but they can be flipped over easier than the 6X6 version MRAPs with an IED. flipped into rivers, canals or just over on top of the gunner. still sweet vehicle, but there is always a trade-off.
@davetileguy That would be fine for an emergency field repair, but if you have the equipment to fix it correctly, that is what should be done.
If that vehicle is well designed at all it has shields protecting the drain plug and anything that extends that plug out longer increased the chances of it getting ripped off on a rock in the field.
@WulfBlitzkrieg What a baby. Grow some nuts and actually do something with your life. Do you really get satisfaction sitting at home jacking off and calling other people out for things you would never have the intestinal fortitude to do yourself? Worthless.
Actually given it's mechanical sophistication, this vehicle is awesome. I am currently serving overseas and utilize this vehicle on a daily basis. It offers more room inside, better suspension, and isn't as top heavy as the standard MRAP. It does have a harsh blind spot, but I would trade it for the perks any day. We just switched from 1151s not to long ago....
@mrbarber83 More room inside? No it doesn't. Maybe for you POGs who don't carry any ammo or explosives you have enough room. Currently overseas posting on Youtube. Fucking ridiculous. Enjoy your nice hot shower and hot food at the DFAC. POG fuck.
a team of two people who have faith in thier cause can STILL take out an armor. it can even take the front engined, heavliy armed, bug-out rear door equiped -in case you face acctual resistance- merkava.

@LikesToPoopMore But wikipedia say it has a gross weight of 15 tons(14,700 kgs)
i think they got their numbers wrong
And to me also it doesn't look like 30 tons, looks a lot less actually
sscaero15 1 month ago
@sscaero15 hmm, yea i'd agree. it doesnt look like it weighs 30 tons. Can never be sure with Wiki, but seems more likely than 60,000lbs.

@davetileguy Yea, I thought that was a little out there... The air filter was clogged so we pulled the doors off.

@deweys That vehicle is probably heavily armored on the bottom, its not like dropping the oil pan on your 1992 Ford F150. :p

Is there any video's of the M-ATV crawling over rocks and other barriers?
I am thinking of how we can maneuver with proper approach angles.
M-ATV seems like a great idea if they could simplify instead of complicate mechanical. Then again I haven't had a chance to get my hands on one.
We could use the gear but National Guard doesn't ever get the good stuff.
