  • Yesterday I was playing this guy's cd. It's been laying around in my apartment for a couple of months and I have no idea how it got here all the way from Japan, but I guess it must be destiny because I was blown away by every single track.

    Props from Sweden!

  • The main difference between this style and say, Antoine Dufour's is that T-cophony 1. invents his own tunings, 2. focuses on his melodies rather than rhythms like someone said, and 3. consistently uses the tapping technique, even though Antoine's fingerstyle is still great.

I love both artists, but T-Cophony is unique.

  • @FarazR2 ehem thats not quite right. Antoine does 1-2. But yeah this guy does more tapping.

  • @Simonsig2 Well what I meant was that what really makes t-cophony unique is his use of those two things. Antoine imo is more rhythmically complex which is why I like him as well. He does a lot of grooves. T-cophony tends to just create a melodic idea with a little bit of backing.

  • Very beautiful sound. I like your style and your finger tapping is awesome.

  • can you get teachers to teach this stuff?

  • love love love this :)

  • very cool man! A new generation of guitar playing.

  • @VLombardi01 Yeah it was a new generation of guitar playing when Michael Hedges started doing it in the 80s

  • so good man this shit is inspiring

  • Some of his songs are so short but they always leave you feeling like you have been watching longer.

  • is this DADGAD tunning or somthing?

  • @AndreRGR320EX

    Yes, Dsus4 tuning.

  • yes dsus4

  • He is like Jesus with a guitar.

  • LOL...

  • dude is so AMAZING I wish I knew where to even begin learning to play like that

  • delicioso, bellisimo

  • wow すごい...!!!

    日本 から 初めて 見た

    awesome

  • i cant say anything bad about every guitarist who plays own things...

because i hnow how hard is make some thing that sounds good... :)

he had to work hard to:

    know the teory of music

    know the technique of play

    sorry my english .... :)

  • just so everyone knows, this isnt just some old acoustic. this is probley a very expensive guitar with perfect action and no fret problems what so ever. i've seen alot of people do this nowadays (including myself) and you have to have a 110% comfortable playing guitar to get it to sound right. i point this out because most people don't realize everything that was put into this!! once again, not just any old acoustic will do!

  • So true. I play a lot of this style and friends will always give me their guitar and ask me to play a certain song, most of the time it doesn't sound right. I LOVE it when someone has a guitar that plays well. It feels like finding treasure. In my experience a lot of older guitars have great sound and action for more 'aggressive' acoustic styles.

  • this guitar is a custom built by Yairi. It is built wide like a 12 string neck but it's a 6-string. and he uses Elixir strings.

  • 先日はじめて彼のライブを見てきました!

    cycling road,April rider,after rain辺りはしびれました。

I saw his LIVE in Kyoto two days ago! It was a tiny one in a music store, but His performance was great as well as in youtube!

  • this was awesome!

  • Hi, could someone please tell me how the guitar is set up? Is it a 6 string neck and a 6 string neck? And does one neck go left and the other right? Or are they stacked like a normal double neck? And maybe what kind of guitar this is? Im asking because im blind and yes im being serious. Thanks.

  • Hi Blake,

It's a normal six string guitar. He is tapping the neck using his right hand and left hand simultaneously. I don't know what kind of guitar it is but hope that helps you

  • AHHHHHHHHHH is the first thing i said.

  • i still think this is

    FACKING amazingg (:

  • well seeing as how he is uses a span of about 13 or so frets simultaneously jason becker would have to have a pretty big hand i'd say.

  • you sure about that?

  • Amazing talent. I listen a lot. It's soothing for the soul. We have to stop the hate and the wars. Our children will not survive. Imagine how life would flourish if all the people on the planet could just put their minds together to accomplish goals for the good of all humanity

  • it odd how acoustic things like this in major keys often offer optimistic visions like that. I suppose that makes it a force for good :)

    peace

  • very good

  • im more of a metal and insane guitarist myself but i can make an exception in your case nice playing!!!

  • @urheadonastick still mad brah... 2 years later

  • @partialcapo

Never was mad- just thumbing down someone who doesn't consider they may be hurting a fellow musicians feelings ,as you can see 8 other people agree.

  • @urheadonastick uploads are subject to criticism.

  • @urheadonastick this guy has some catchy tunes, never said he was a bad guitarist i just stated my opinion on this song... which all uploads are subject to criticism.

  • Have you even seen this guy's other videos? He can make amazing music using this technique. Besides, all 10 of your videos are fucking shitty cover attempts from musicians who use similar techniques.

  • LOL

  • hmm if its sooooo simple lets see u play it or any of his songs for that matter hes just as good as andy if not better and by far better then you so yea think before you talk plz

  • i learned this song in 2 days! it's really fun to play. ive only been playing in this style for about a year

  • Usernamethis, we'll wait for your upload.

  • click on my profile my cover of "after rain" is there!

  • Just took a look at your covers.

    Really great job:)

  • People like "13auer" are a total joke/waste of flesh. "i learnt the song in a couple hours" pffff!!! yeah ok buddy..Just more people lacking attention for their underachievements..i highly doubt many guitarists can play what t-cophony is playing. who you trying to kid?

  • those things "13auer" says are very easy to find out; just make a damn movie of yourself playing that song and put it on youtube, wiseguy! Anyone with a bit of guitarplaying-knowledge can tell you what tuning is used! I can also tell you how a formula 1 car works, but driving it is something different. Get a lif, or prove us wrong ;-)

For more of this kind of stuff; check out Eric Mongrain, also on youtube; great music!

  • inspired

  • thnx for the info, i'll try me best!

  • Simply rules! also the emotion that this track expresses is awesome! what is the tuning?

  • tuning is DADGAD, i learnt the song in a couple of hours, its tricky but a lot of fun to play:P
