You are right. The extremists are too excited about their dreams and radicalisation. They dont respect the social order any more. They attack CE's publicity campaign 'act now'. They think they can lead HK people to fight for their dream. But I dont think they can make it. Majority of the people are rational and watching the progress. Like 516 election, the silent majority just used their right to express themselves by not voting. They are waiting for their turn in due time.

But the gov. chose to invest irresponsibly, and masking their books to meet the standard to join the euro. The plan back fired, which fueled the fire that led to the debt crisis we saw today. This is more than enough reasons why the people should have more over sight into what the gov. is doing.

Greece is a democratic state with election every 5 years. If the people chosen government mismanaged the finance such as running a big deficit budget, placing money on the high risk stake, even the alleged book cooking, etc. The blame should be borne by both the gov and the people. Facing the forced spending reduction to get the EU bailout, the people feel upset on the adjustment. So, the problem stems from inflexible welfare incl. salaries and the collective punishment ahead.

Besides, we're talking about HK. We don't get to decide who our chief executive is, and reforms are often voted down by functional constituency.

History tells us that most of the heroes were young men, only if they could survive unscathed. Last night, the Chinese officials clarified the model of democracy for Hong Kong. The framework sounds rational for a city under the control of China. Mainly, the CE will continue to run an administration-led government to serve HK. That is clear enough.

The protestors blocking and disturbing the goodwill visit by CE and his staff have only helped draw attention of the public to the campaign. The first encountered though experienced some moments of chaos. But CE's 'Act Now' strategy is bound to work and succeed like USA's fighting the Pacific war. The radicals yelled and chided CE doing a show. Yes, all politicians are doing that. So do Long Hair and mad dog. I think CE has moved in the right direction to reach out to people in the outposts.
