  • I'd be a lot more sympathetic towards him if his actions didn't get somebody else killed along with him.

  • Is there a clip which shows him getting eaten

  • I honestly envy him for what he did. Animals are killed every day. For no reason. an it's completely wrong. He wanted to protect them.

This movie was actually very funny in some parts. The rain part, the park part where he's yelling. It's funny to see the actaul takes in the commercial when you see him trying to create the commercial in the movie. He curses a lot in this movie but overall it's really good.

  • Oddly enough, this guy seems to remind me of Chris Crocker....in "angry bear loving form"

  • This documentary was far too exploitative in dealing with the subjects. Herzog's pretentious commentaries are always annoying too and he is too judgemental

  • there is no video of him and his girlfriend being eaten, the lens cap was on the camera, and the audio for it was never released by his former girlfriend to my knowledge

  • I only wish the poor guy could've met some one who'd have shown him that humans are not so bad. because really i think he was looking for some one to love. it's a shame that he died without settling his issues with society. I often feel that nature is more welcoming than the world of men, so then again i can sorta understand his enthusiasm.... what a dude

  • Nature is not generally "welcoming." While there is plenty of mutual aid going on, even between different species, there is still deadly competition as well. And sometimes outright murder.

Civilization was devoloped for a good reason - to escape the brutal side of nature. Failing to recognize and incorporate this reality is what got Timothy Treadwell killed.

  • don't fuck with wild animals damn

  • idiot

  • Treadwell saw and lived more in his decade in the wild than most of you could ever imagine. You call him insane from your safe buildings? Just because he had the balls to follow his bliss, doesn't mean he was crazy. So he got eaten by a grizzly in a beautiful place. It was a perfect end for him. You'll die of heart attacks at your computers and that's a perfect end for you.

  • @Grovemeister (Y)

  • @Grovemeister Hahaha wow man. You are so ignorant. This guy was OBIOUSLY crazy. Not only is he not willing to accept his homosexuality, the guy is a freak. Smell and fondling fresh bear poop is far from ordinary. And just so you know, he claims to "protect" the bears, meanwhile hes doing more damage to them then you can imagine.

  • @MarcMyWurd

    haha thanks joe rogan

  • Anyone, and i mean ANYONE who says he's stupid or that he didn't know what he was doing...then you can just...go get eaten by a bear yourself!

  • this film realy gets to me this guy payed the ultimed price for these animals.

    great film

  • How did dude charge the battery for his cam? He's a little camp, as well.

    Mr. Chocolate.

  • hey dude stfu ur fucking stupid

  • hey sophie go and suck somethin, maybe your dad's cock-great film about graet man

  • nice very nice, He Was a great man...when I die I want to meet him! I mean ya he acted...kinda weird...sometimes...but hes still great!

  • this guy was a fuckin idiot who thought he was a bear.....pity he couldnt fight like one... BEARS 1 FUCKING IDIOT 0

  • This is an excellent movie, and I highly recommend it to absolutely everyone.

  • pwnt

  • He wasn't stupid and he did not deserve to die!!!!

  • In one breath, he he curses civilization, while using tools created by that civilization to record his psychotic ramblings. What duality. Thankfully, nature has a way of "Culling the herd", and the theory of "survival of the fittest" was applied vehemently to this wingnut. It's too bad Treadwell got his dumbass girlfriend, and two bears killed in the process.

  • I LOVE this documantary film! It is filled with beutiful images and how it was put together was just incredible!

  • I don't think it was wholy innevitable, as the bear that killed him was not one of the bears from his location. Most people would have expected him to be

  • killed by a bear that he approached and got too close to, but in 13 years this never happened. The killer was a stray old baer whihc couldn't hunt and turned to man in it's hunger. Not only this but it attacked them while they were asleep in their tents, at the same risk as any campers in an area where bears live. Seeing how he turned his life around, I don't think he should be abused for living for what he beleived in.

  • What he did was pointless.. The bears were in no danger, there was no poaching in that area. I live in Alaska and we are up to our eyeballs in bears. If he really wanted to help he should have tried to help the tigers, who are almost extinct, or grizzlies in the lower 48, who are threatened. All he accomplished was getting two bears shot, and condeming a young woman to a horrible death. He was brave and passionate but in the end he accomplished nothing. Such is mental illness.

  • You know what, basically, people should be able to do what they want to (within reason), obviously, he had a fondness for bears and I don't think calling him an idiot is fair. He knew the risks and he chose to stay with the bears, it's just sad that he got attacked.

  • It wasnt sad he got attacked.. it was INEVITABLE! These are wild animals.. they dont have names.. they dont have friends..this is not DISNEYLAND! Every Alaskan I know (including myself) thought this guy was a retard. Its just too bad he took two bears and a girl down with him in his madness.

  • lol

  • whats the song in the end ?

  • The song in the end is Don Edwards - "Coyotes" (Bob McDill cover)

  • The best song in the world, sorry i don't know what it's called

  • richard thompson-coyotes

  • sweet, thanks, it says in the begining that "he was killed by one of the bears he had sworn to portect" But it wasn't one that he knew! All the ones he knew were in hybernation, and the one that killed him was hungry because all the other ones had eaten all the food! Am i right?? And oooohhh ya I've thought it all out! And I hate how all the people were saying he got what he deserved! He didn't! He didn't deserve to die! And besides he said he would die for those animals!

  • Even the local Alaskans, both Inuits and whites, who have been around bears for longer than he had thought Treadwell was an idiot.

  • Say what you will but he did have balls b/c no one else would do that and he believed in what he was doing. My Great Uncle was a wildlife marshall in alaska and they had a nickname for him, Timothy Tastewell

  • Anyone else think this guy was a total egomaniac? How can you give such a deluded person so much praise? What a whacko.

  • It means he was truly brave. He faced down the world's top land predator again and again. And he did it by being smart about it and generally staying within the unmarked boundaries. Of course there are examples when he crossed them, but he had to see how far they could be pushed to truly understand where they were. Anyone who questions him doesn't understand what he was about. Before you question a man, you better be damn sure you know what he's all about.

  • He never hurt anyone or anything. Whether you like it or not... whether you believe it or not... he achieved true greatness... even if it was after his death. How dare anyone question his knowledge, his ethics, or his passion. You don't know what he knew... you sit on your couch and watch tv while he was out there, studying, learning, experiencing. Such armchair warriors you are. He knew the dangers... he was fully aware that he put his life on the line... and he knew the consequences.

  • Strange... such intollerance by so many people. The man is dead. How dare you mock a man who died for a cause. It is something that so few people can bring themselves to do. He made the ultimate sacrifice for what he believed... are your convictions so pure? Somehow I doubt it. It is absolutely awful to say he got what he deserved. Anyone who says that proves the apathy, coldness and unfeeling aspects of humanity that Tredwell fought against. He never hurt anyone or anything.

  • you know... its a crime to sleep with corpses?

  • Timothy Treadwell was a little out of touch, but he truly did believe he was needed there to protect the bears from poachers. Poachers by the way are a big threat to bears all over the world, including alaska. All of you who hate on him are truly jealous of the wonderful life he found in this mess of society. And for the record, he did survive on his own for about 12 summers, it was that girls fault she must have been scared and the bear sensed weakness.

  • The bears didnt even need protecting. They certainly didnt need to be pestered by some unstable raving homosexual who spoke to them in such a silly camp child like voice for 13 years.

  • he was a kuku to do that shit nothing would happen to the freakin bear they were fine in wildlife no one protects bears oonly kuku's like him, gettin his gf and himself killed for nothing

  • After reading the majority of comments on this trailer, the only thing I've got to say is this. The only reason why people feel anger towards this film is because they are completely jealous & closed minded to the fact that Timothy found great joy in something they can never understand.

  • can't wait 2 c this film

  • actually, his girlfriend got him killed...

    ...menstration attracts bears.

  • serves him right.

  • movie was AWESOME!

  • this movie made me cry. i feel so bad for this guy. but he was insane..

  • Admirable, but dumb. They are wild animals. We should respect them by leaving them alone. That would be the best way to honor any species. Unfortunately, without good information (footage) bringing various species and their plight, to the attention of humanity, we will march blindly into the future trampling everything. Again, admirable, but ... dumb. I wouldn't approach a tame bear, lion, tiger, or gorilla. Call me chicken. Death- It's not me.

  • Just proves that all of the PETA and animal rights people are brainless libtards. Try to become one and live in harmony with wild animals and you will get owned, just like Steve Irwin and the guy in this video.

  • Yes, all people who care about environment want to live with animals and are insane.

The man in this document was out of touch with reality. Be careful with making such generalizations.

  • ::applauds salarsvids & jar1234:: your comments are what I feel too. Great ways of saying what is true...I want to see this movie because I love animals and I want to see what this guy did. Steve Irwin & others were able to do what they loved and cared for, I want to do the same.

  • The thought of going into Africa and living with hyenas (people have done it before) has crossed my mind several times. I don't know if I ever will do it but IF I do it will be fun. I think I'll name one Mr. Bubbles, rofl.

  • they say they are crazy (Tim Treadwell, STEVE IRWIN) but they died doing wut they loved, they acheived ther dreams and died for it... who is the judge of what is sane and insane and which one of u can say they have achieved ther most important and personal dreams, whoever mocks these ppl are narrow minded and are going to live a life without dreams and a life where the same thing happens everyday

  • There is no difference between wrong and right, just a world of people who have set standards for themselves. Doing what he did wasn't wrong at all, he was trying to protect the bears. I won't argue with that, after all he loved what he did. I am extremely sure that some people are going to say that I'm an idiot and so on but think what you want that's YOUR opinion not mine. Lmfao, Mr. Chocolate. I should change my youtube alias to that.

  • protect the bears from what? They were in a protected Alaskan wildlife reserve, you idiot. He was crazy and he got his girlfriend killed. didnt you see the movie?

  • He was also the founder of Grizzly People USA, one of the main conservationist organizations for bears. He was killed because he stayed past the main bear season, a time he had never spent in the Grizzly Maze area, and he was killed by a bear that was not from that area.

  • Timothy Treadwell was among the pre-eminent bear behaviorists in the world, he caught footage and understood bear behavior better than most professional zoologists. To the poster above: Treadwell WAS rehearsed, if you would actually watch the actual movie instead of spouting off you would know that he had segments he filmed specifically for his film demonstrations and segments that were "off-stage" and personal.

  • You people are fucking idiots. The reason he called the bear Mr. Chocolate and spoke in that voice was because he was filming a series of film shorts depicting the life of bears that he then showed to elementary school kids around the country.

  • is there actual footage of the killings?

  • hello...poo

  • Steve Irwin wasn't a fucking freak you sock suckers.

    He was a conservationist.

There's a huge differnce between conservationist and a fucking psychotic, former drug user running around in the trees, calling bears Mr Chocolate etc..

    Fucking idiots.

  • PETA

"it comes as no shock at all that STEVE IRWIN should die provoking a dangerous animal,he made a career out of antagonizing frightened wild animals, which is a very dangerous message to send to kids".

  • TIMOTHY TREADWELL AND STEVE IRWIN....two mental patients in the same animal hospital.

  • Yep that Timothy guy was out of his head

  • The Grizzly Man's death was inevitable, sad as it was.

I don't think that it's right to compare Timothy Treadwell to Steve Irwin. Steve was well rehearsed and knew what he was doing, and died in a freak accident. Timothy was mentally ill and was not rehearsed at all.

  • GRIZZLY MAN AND THE CROCIDILE HUNTER...dumb and dumber.

  • Don't compare Timothy to Steve Irwin. That's ridiculous. They both acted completely different around wild animals.

Timothy randomly went around hugging bears, while Steve Irwin was always well rehearsed.

The Grizzly Man had it coming, whereas Steve Irwin was killed in a freak accident.

  • A FREAK ACCIDENT?! how annoying do you have to be for one of the most docile creatures in the ocean to pull out a shank and stab you in the heart with it? TWO IDIOTS....THEY BOTH HAD IT COMIN'.

  • NUFF SAID!

  • Yes, a FREAK ACCIDENT.

  • FREAK: STEVE IRWIN.

  • LOLOLOL! so funny.. OMG you cant make that stuff up

  • and the bears husband got angry and wanted revenge

  • he probably slept with one of them :P

  • I know plenty people are rather be with animals than with other humans... He's not that crazy... He just felt peace within himself when he was out there...

Humans are the real fucking wild animals... I dont blame him for wanting to escape this world....

    Anyway, good film... Good soundtrack...

Richard Thompson - Coyotes... good stuff

  • This man's a hero!

  • CAPSLOCK

    Good movie though.

  • This guys nuts thats a wild animalThe reason he lasted

so long because the gears were just puting up with him

untill one of the bears said thats enough this guy is interfering with my land(and was hungry i would think)

and its to bad the girl had to go.He was there 13 summers out of pure luck and the bears just not really paying any attention untill it was dinner time.

  • just remember, us alaskans dont actually go out and sit with bears...he was from california...and if you watch the movie, didnt have many marbles left up....

  • Ya this was one of the funniest movies ive seen this year. Obviously the people who made this documentary didn't intend for it to be this way, but there were so many strange and awkward moments in the film I was laughing my ass off the whole time

  • you sound just like those stubid people that i know who just laugh stupid things whitout reason.i bet you are some really stupid teen and even your "friends"dont like you.

  • haha

  • look in the mirror jebediaho. hahah

    stop the hating, fool

  • Treadwell actually made some significant contributions to bear biologists. He took notes on bear behavior in his 13 years in the field in a proximity that few have ever experienced. So it's ridiculous to just say, 'the guy's an idiot' because the most renowned Russian expert on brown bears got eaten a few years ago and he was found with an empty can of pepper spray next to him. When you get that close to them, armed or not, you don't really have as much control as you'd like to think.

  • Awesome movie.

  • This was a really great movie!! Strange, sad and funny all at the same time.

  • does this film have the part where he gets eaten or killed?

  • nope

  • Yep, Ol' Timothy was quoted as saying he would consider it a privelege to one day wind up as bear scat...Well, looks as though he was able to achieve his goal. Too bad he talked his naive lady friend into trusting those huge predadatory animals as much as he did.

  • i heard this documentry is awesome

  • YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS FILM!!! It was so funny, laughed my left ear off..

  • this show made me alomst piss myself because it was so funny. "Come here and do what I do and you will DIE, you will DIE here..." LMAO! YOU DIED!

  • saw this last night. Can't belive this idiot could be so care less.

  • I recently saw the movie and have to say it was great!Completely unintentionally hilarious!
